I have made several videos that explain a lot of this. Think of it as a governor (car speed limiter) for a flashlight.
wojomojo Dummys Guide is the part where He straight said this is about the best EDC light you can get for this price at this moment at this size . There's your Question answered. Buy this light ! The rest doesn't matter unless you love flashlight info .
wojomojo not trying to me a smart ass but simply start with some of his earlier videos. He even has some where he explains how to build the rig he uses to measure different aspects of the flashlights he reviews. Apart from lumen value I knew very little about flashlights. I learned by just watching his videos. At 1st when I stated watching him he came across like a condescending prick. Then after 2 or 3 vids I realize it's just his sense of humor.. So watch some earlier reviews and look for some where he asks his testing method. I bet you'll get it right away.
This is without a doubt the best review of any product on RUclips. And just think, I meant to search for “Fleshlight Review” and yet somehow I watched this whole damn video.
I like this light, I've had it for a few months and it was really nice when I was crawling around under houses in sub zero weather, terrific hand warmers.
Are both ends of the battery tube screwed down? Is the head (right below the switch) screwed firmly to the body and not just the tailcap? Also are you using a high drain battery?
I'm starting to like these ramping UI lights. The BLF Q8 was my first ramping and I love it. You make this Emisar really darn tempting! The burning a hole in the pocket should be a selling point! Nice review Bro.
I have the Nichia but my 5000k XP-L HI with floody optic is streets ahead. A 1000 lumens more with arguably a better tint (the Nichia over saturates red imo) and on a cold UK night the XP-L variants tend to hold off the heat for quite some time, especially in 18350 form.
Christopher H Throwy as hell too with the normal optic, I can light the very top of Emley Moor Mast clearly with the XP-L HI from quite far away and the Mast is over 300m tall!!!
Thanks for the review. I bought the same light a few months ago as Well and really like it. The ramping is awesome and got me into toykeepers other ramping firmware crescendo for my s2+ triples.
"I really don't want to give that impression... I just got sick of doing them." the captions reveal all. Also, "hopefully you've been drinking." you know me too well.
I came to this video because I bought a "tactical" light, though I did look at the specs and msrp, not the gimmicky words. Now I have a huge policeman-esque light that I am regretting when I shouldve looked around more and realized I could get something so small and powerful for the same price. Anyways, thanks for the quality video, you were able to make something thats probably boring to 99% of people actually a fun watch.
Another great AKBMH production sir! Did you notice any flower pedals from the quad emmiters? Looked pretty smoove on our end. Nice light if it was 18650 for $40 otd....but after options, it starts knocking on ZL's door.
Great review bro! my 1st time on ur channel, im new to flashlites and fascinated by how small and powerful these new tech items can be...You give lots of info in a short time and ur style is unusual, funny and interesting but most importantly, Informative ! keep up the good work
I just recently got a D4V2 in 219Bs with Anduril 2. I really like it, but it’s not my perfect light. I’m afraid the flashlights are becoming like knives for me, always searching for the next perfect one.
I was discussing your channel with a friend of mine the other day. I told him that while your knife videos were quite entertaining, you seriously knew your shit when it came to flashlights.
I have thought about making my knife videos more technical... however it would take the fun out of them. And I'm still not convinced a knife you have to sharpen more should only cost $15-$50 versus a $200-skysthelimitsuper steel. Like you pay more for lumens in a light... or better throw or what not. At some point in knives well it becomes a little unclear what you're paying for.
You just have to find the right one. I get a ton of contact emails for cheap ugly knives... and I just don't respond. However if it looks decent or the right kind of ugly I'm game. I try to include many nice closeups in case people don't agree with my opinions, or maybe I overlook something- to give a basic idea of functionality size and ergonomics. A real knife dude can tell if it's the knife for them or not. Also sometimes I review stuff that I know I may not like... but that's interesting or maybe the audience likes. Thanks for watching man!
This light seems like a good replacement for my missing Zebralight SC600 mk3. Cool move going with the cyan, nice to have something other than black and grey for a change. Thank you for the review, as always a job well done :)
My Zebra Light SC600w MKII L2 seems to have a lower low mode @ 0.01 lumens than the newer models. I can stare right into the LED without having to adjust my eyes at all. It's my favorite flashlight ever.
A lot of the Zebras, have different lows... and some of the new emitter options don't have the best lows. I think the rule of thumb seems to be... at least from just looking at the specs... the higher the output on a single emitter newer Zebralight- the brighter the moonlight.
As directed, reporting back, I like the beam on the D4 most bestest. Ramping is cool. But that much juice in a light that small, just not my cup of tea. Great review and I appreciate the comparison of beams between so many lights.
Older vid. Hopefully you'll take time to answer. Bought based on your recommendation and I'm not disappointed in the least. Could you do a more in depth review of the accessories like the battery extensions? The reflector options? The bulb options? For the price is definitely buy another one. I definitely value your opinions.you may different but it's the best light for the money.
Emitters. The two retailers spell out the differences on their website. Next to the different options they list the lumens and tint- if you understand those two it's basically a decision lumens or tint or best of both.... want warmer? Pick the lower "K". More neutral is 5000k... cooler is a higher K. Best tint is probably the Nichia- most lumens the XPL. The extension tubes allow you to run different smaller batteries. All this does is make the light more compact, but sacrifices runtimes. You'll need to buy a battery that can handle the drain of the light. If you look at Mtn. Electronics product page- it gives plenty of details.
Good combo... I always use it as a last resort when I really want to buy something... I may have closed out the cart about a dozen times before... but it’s much harder to close about 3 beers deep.
A ZebraLight SC64, review would b sweet. I prefer the size vs performance vs runtime etc of this form. Would also be sweet to get your informed input regarding the relative emitter choices pluses and minuses.
Hi bro. If you have blf flashlight fw3a, can you compare with this emisar?? Glad if you do review, because you're the best review anything EDC flashlight, knives and etc. Thanks
I dont shoot a lot, so I literally have no way of testing any of these lights. Olight makes several gun specific lights- maybe check them out. olightworld.com/tactical/olight-pl-1-ii-valkyrie
rephrased question. which of these have a good strong spring on both sides of the battery and wouldn't flicker if you shook it, was under 50 bucks and rechargable?
Advanced Knife Bro Longish comment: just arrived. Yours flicker too? I'm using a 3500 mah mxjo flat top. Also, I read the instructions on blf about how to get to strobe but, it's not working. How do you get to strobe?
When analyzing a split screen of beam shots, one must determine a favorite by figuring out which one seems like it would be the least likely to be hiding a ninja you may not have noticed.
Just ordered XP-G 4000K version.I like warmer tints and never had XPG under 6000K, so we will see... I also have few Nichia 219BT 4000K 90cri lights, no way that Nichia 219C 5000K is nicer ;-)
Only for lights that require them to make positive contact. It's more of a physical size or electrical connection thing, than for performance. This one can take either.
ok, so i got one with XP-G2 4000K led. I swapped clear optics with floody, and now it is beautiful (simmilar beam shape to frosted Zebra lights). Tint is very nice, golden like, nicer than warm Armytek XPL leds, also better that Zebra SC 6000w HI III and Zebra H600Fc III, imao. Clear quad optics is uneaven and with some artifacts, floody is great. If reach is needed, probably Emisar D1 is much better choice than XP-L HI D4 ;-) OK, now is time to check out 5000K XP-G2 version. I heard that it is more rosy and warmer than Nichia 219C 5000K. Colour shifts in a beam are bigger than with 219C, so, the answer is: ...... floody optics ;-)
I have reviewed most of the lights in the video, and there is an 18350 there. There is also the BLF A6 which can be pruchased with an 18350 tube. I don't review a whole lot of runtimes and test brightness with 18350 functionality though. ruclips.net/video/p2WlOINoL_k/видео.html
Great content bro! I stumbled across this video by accident. I have since laughed, subscribed, and ordered two of these lights. I enjoy your comedic style of review mixed with mostly comprehensive information. Sometimes I'll watch one even if I dont care what your reviewing. The tin foil hat joke....Anyways I was hoping you could shed some light on a question about the D4. I noticed you commented about the NEW d4, and I ordered one nichia model from each vendor because the specs seemed to be different. Is the one on intl outdoor the new one, or different than mtn elec version? Also do you think Cu/Ti is worth it for heat management? And will you review the D1? If you have the time to reply I appreciate it. If not, I'll watch more anyway cause those other videos need views too.
There was a Copper Titanium and that was the new one. However the company that makes these offer quite a few emitter options... and often some of the emitter options will be discontinued. The main thing to understand is the specs for each of the emitter options- and balance the lumens output with the color temp you prefer. I got the nichia because I wanted a more neutral 5000k tint (whiter white) and 3500 lumens at startup was plenty for me. Some of the Nichias are said to have the best color rendering denoted by a higher CRI. I do not plan on reviewing the D1 because I already have a few lights that do what that one does... It's gonna be a much lower output on startup but will illuminate objects farther away.
+Advanced Knife Bro Hey flashlight bro! In case you're interested I finally got both nichia d4 lights in hand and there is a difference between the two. I got a 219c from mtn elec which is warmer, brighter at all ranges and steps down sooner at first than the 219ct version from intl outdoor. The steps are only about a second sooner on the 219c until about half brightness then the 219ct steps down quicker and eventually settles at a much lower level,(at least in the few minutes I let them run) and doesn't get quite as hot. The 219ct also advertises improved optics. Best I can tell it means they broke off two of the post spacers, put screws through the board and timed the whole assembly differently. So in relation to the button one emitter set is square and the other a diamond pattern. Running on matched 30q batteries. Aaaaanyway hope that didn't bore you to tears or make you reach for a PBR! Thanks for the great content!
Thanks Bro! A good vape shop, is a great source. For quality batteries. I never did get one of these. I probably should. I've forgotten. Do you have the Nitecore EC23?
Great review! But I am basically using headlamps way more than any handheld, so I wonder If you have ZL H600Fc MkIV or H600Fd and what is your opinion on those two or any new ZL MKIV headlamps (review?). Thanks
I probably will not review the headlamps... however it’s my understanding the headlamps and flashlights within the same series are basically the same as beam and operation. I would say the new addition of the more programmable UI makes it a winner. I would note though... if the top end of the lumens on the no IV is higher- so is the moonlight mode (L1). So if you want a lower moonlight go with something that tops out closer to 1000 lumens.
I am using warm Armytek wizard pro about 6 hours every day and cant find a single reason to why it is not perfect in every aspect including great UI and moonlight (except maybe lower CRI which is not really that important to me as I also use Manker E03H with Nichia for that aspect. What is the main aspect that will make you pick Zebralight H600FC insted of WizardPro ? BTW Manker E03H has the greatest possible implementation of moonlight I ever seen, you may like that too.
I checked the ZL website and H600Fc Mk IV with 1568 Lm has 0.08 Lm moonlight. Unlike the SC600 it is as low as in previous models and lower than any Armytek Wizard Pro. What would you then consider the biggest PROs/CON s of ZL H600FC MkIV vs AT Wizard Pro v3 Warm? Thanks
If you are happy with the Armytek don't upgrade. I use mine all the time... as well as my Tiara. And occasionally my spark SG6 and Olight H2R. Some people might prefer the UI of the Zebralight... but the Armytek has many well spaced low modes. If you're perfectly happy with another headlamp you have don't upgrade.
Well, you know the story! "My name is Peter, and I am flashoholic." But frankly I need to have one 18650 light as backup on trips, so it is either two same Wizards or one Wizard and one Zebra. Not yet decided as I did not try ZL yet, Thanks
Looking to grab the D4s...i jumped in headfirst into collecting flashlights in one month I've collected 11 OLIGHTS! But the more i see lights like this one the FIREFLIES lights and Astrolux I kick myself! I coulda had a nice collection of other lights that seem to be better! And cheaper! I do love my olights but had i known what i know now..i would have went a different route! I don't wanna end up with a box full of 40 flashlights lol but i do want a couple more, after that I'll just be strictly trading for lights i want or go without it
Advanced Knife Bro Thanks for the reply. I only found two online stores that carry the d4, and none of them had your setup in blue available. Where did you get yours? Also, does your clip come off the flashlight often or is it secure?
Those are the only two that stock it. Intl Outdoors is the seller and designer- Mtn Electronics is an authorized state side retailer. Stock ebbs and flows, so keep an eye out for restocks. Check back once a week or so.
I ordered from intl-outdoor, I would've from mtnelectronics but the d4 that I wanted wasn't in stock. Is the wait pretty long? Am I going to run into problems with us customs? I ordered a convoy s2 from gearbest and had an issue with us customs
I carry the mk IV much more. Just figure out which tint you like most and buy that emitter option. Also floodier or more of a spot- for EDC a flood frosted emitter is nice. I wouldn’t get the HI variety
Hey how's it going? May I ask a question if you have time? In your opinion, is the Samsung 30Q battery better than the sony vtc6 battery? I'm going to be getting my first zebra light. The sc600 mk iv plus flashlight =). Thanks again man for the awesome review!
I don't have a preference for one over the other. Both are great cells. I think the Sony is rated at a slightly higher drain capacity, but both are more than ready to handle the drain of the Zebralight.
Advanced Knife Bro thanks man appreciate the info. I just deceided to go with the samsung 30 Q like you have in the video. Keep making the awesome vids!
I don't do many flashlights any more. Technology hasn't improved a whole lot... and this another light that has an impressive burst of light, but hits up too quick and steps down to quickly. I rarely use the D4 because of this, and opt for my Zebralight SC600 IV and my Olight S2 copper. The Emisars do have an excellent user interface though, and great build quality but LEDs still don't run efficiently and cool enough to be crammed into tiny lights. Maybe in a few years it will get better.
As per my custom I am always late to give a dude another reason to question his decision making skills or his sanity. But on this occasion I am happy to say I didn’t ingest any inebriating substances in order to finish (or start) watching a flashlight review. The reason is quite mundane so doesn’t merit further attention. Keep it tight like this and you can rest assured I’ll keep watching (and commenting) and liking your productions. (to be read in your characteristic “I don’t give a fuck but I secretly do” voice) 😉🙃
ok, someone points me to a tutorial or dummy's guide to flashlight selection, criteria, hacking, terminology, etc.. I didn't understand half of what Bro was talking about.
I have made several videos that explain a lot of this.

A flashlight review. What? I didn't think you still did those. Good to see a flashlight review though. Keep up the great work
I do- just not that much. I’m only reviewing ones I want now- and saying no to offers of ones that don’t interest me.

I found a new B and E light, you pretty much nailed that review.
Felonies here you come!
Thanks a lot guy I just bought 2 after watching your video. Now I don't have any gas money for next week.
thanks for getting around to reviewing the Emisar D4.
I have a Nichia 219 Manker E14 II if you want to do a shoot out vs the D4 & Astro S41.
Thanks man... don't have much time for more comparisons right now, but thanks for the offer!
Excellent review despite the fact that you omitted a link for the sex shop.

I had really debated on getting this or the astrolux. Awesome bid man.
I like this one better than the Astrolux.
Nice one. Was hoping for this review!

Nice, I've been looking for a good breaking and entering light for a while... Damn it now I have to subscribe!
You chose the right leds:) really like the color. And xpl hi will cook an egg while the egg is behind a wall and the light is off lol
I think you’re right!
But... the nichia is the hottest of the emitters available for the d4...
Since I only have the Nichia I don't know.
Awesome review as always !
Damn I just learned a ton. I had no idea flashlights were so complicated...

I'm starting to miss the Douk Douk, you should include it in your next review just because.
I'll try and get my Douk Douk on.
Finally, now I have another review to s̶p̶a̶m̶ post on r/flashlights. Yea!
Fine by me!
Does it matter if you get the flat top or button top battery? Is there an advantage to one over the other?
Only for lights that require them to make positive contact. It's more of a physical size or electrical connection thing, than for performance. This one can take either.
I’m looking to get the d4v2 for edc. Do you prefer the flat or the raised retaining ring?
I haven’t tracked the revisions to the V2, but I don’t have any problems with this one.
Hello
Do you know the amp draw of the D4 with the XL emitters, and what battery matches or exceeds the draw ?

Bought it! Thank you for the link. :)
Is the web page legit and how is the flashlight got any pics
ok, so i got one with XP-G2 4000K led.
I like it as an 18350 light.
Do you have any reviews for 18350 flashlights??
I have reviewed most of the lights in the video, and there is an 18350 there. There is also the BLF A6 which can be pruchased with an 18350 tube. I don't review a whole lot of runtimes and test brightness with 18350 functionality though.

Dude you are the fuckin shit man you gotta do a lot more of these we don't need the fine print just the damn light and how bright it is
Also this is a sweet light some 200 dollar lights doesnt do half the stuff this does and its a nice looking light
Shaggy, will you be reviewing the D4V2?
Nope.
Great review.
One suggestion.
Just leave your Christmas lights up all year long.
Thanks Bro!
A good vape shop, is a great source. For quality batteries.
I never did get one of these. I probably should.
I've forgotten. Do you have the Nitecore EC23?
I’m not getting that nitcore. I’m scaling back to lights i truly want. This light however is nice and they got the premium titanium one now
Nice review. Thanks. Cool torch Bro. I would guess that the sex shop would have some batteries too.
Lithium ion batteries revolutionized the vibrator industry. -sex shop owner, probably
I don't wanna end up with a box full of 40 flashlights lol but i do want a couple more, after that I'll just be strictly trading for lights i want or go without it
Good detailed review... love the sarcasm too
very illuminating bro
That ultra dry humor really gets me.
Are there disadvantages for going for the battery with the longer runtime verses output?
No... only what you mentioned in this sentence.
About 2-3 weeks.
I’ve never had a problem with US customs before.
Super review!)
Zebralight SC64w is da ultimate bomb....
For breaking and entering !
So if you don't need 3000lm then which light, the Zebra sc600w Mark IV or Emisar d4?
I carry the mk IV much more. Just figure out which tint you like most and buy that emitter option. Also floodier or more of a spot- for EDC a flood frosted emitter is nice. I wouldn’t get the HI variety
So i waited like a sissy for this review and turns out youtube didn't notified me. Thanks youtube for making me a man!
What type of camera are you using to film this? You're getting great result
This was the black magic pocket cinema camera. My knife stuff uses the Panasonic G7
Like it with 18350 lipo, for 18650 prefer Zebralight stuff.
I think I like the zebra just a bit more.
I've got several. Good reveiw...
Emisar D4S out right now. Review please!!
Looks cool, but not for me.
@@AdvancedKnifeBro I'm interested... Why is it not for you? You're my favorite flashlight reviewer hands down!
Great review..
Thank you!
Your fan base from Michigan is your best fanbase.... nuff said.
I wonder where my worst fans are from.
Nice variable power.
It’s cool to act like I don’t give a fuck. It’s also my thing. Or maybe it’s not. Whatever...
Advanced Knife Bro I’m happy I wasn’t off when sensing it is your thing. And I find it entertaining and interesting. That’s why my attention...
Would you recommend this for edc?
Yep. It's affordable and is easy to use.
I know I'm late, but I can't seem to find this thing anymore. Anyone know where to get one of these?
Loved the narration, I like your mindset. Could of watched another 15 minutes worth.😏
