Seriously, what just happened?
This past episode (4x10) was insane! The ending scene threw me completely off guard (even if I should have seen it coming). Did it surprise anyone else?
The acting between Melissa and Chyler was incredible and I am so in awe of those two. The bond between the two Danvers sisters has always been the core of the show, even now. And there are so many potential repercussions from this choice to erase her memories of Kara being Supergirl. It's such a fundamental relationship. Is the damage reversible? Uncertain. I have so many questions and theories I could go on for days about it. But I suppose I won't bore you all with them now.
This video was very quickly put together within my very hectic week of schoolwork but due to the last scene of this episode, I just had to do something to commemorate how foundational their relationship is and how much we all treasure it. So, apologies if it's a bit sloppy in some areas. There were many technological complications and not much time, but I really wanted to get this out after seeing that.
So. What do you guys think of the end scene? What do you think is gonna happen? Any theories? Ideas? Complaints? Good things? I wanna hear from you! I have so many thoughts myself!

Vicky Brombley Yeah, But the possible ramifications of that are very large considering how much of Alex’s life revolves around that secret. And their sisterhood will likely not be as close. Sadly. I am very glad you like the video though! Can’t wait to see what happens!
Kara Danvers maybe j'onn can replace Alex's memory's when colonel halfwit goes back to where she popped up from and Alex can resume director duties , just a thought :-)

Imagine if she forgets the wrong data about Kara, so she remembers that Kara's Supergirl, but she forgets that Kara's her sister, however remembering she loves her.

I'm seriously in awe of how amazing this is, Making my own for this episode was so hard 😫 The thought that all those memories being gone, I was literally Kara watching that scene 💔😥 you have done an incredible job, this is really amazing and heartbreaking 💖

I watch Alex and Kara scenes with fresh eyes these days. Alex deserved a life after giving everything to be the person Kara needed after all the trauma she went through. Alex literally became Kara's human shield, protecting her heart from pain. Kills me to watch sometimes because Alex was so selfless. As the show went on, they changed Alex's character to become more focused on a life and family of her own. This offended a lot of people because they felt it was out of character for Alex to abandon Kara. But the show handled this far better than people realize. They didn't have Alex just move on, they showed Alex actively passing the torch to none other than Lena Luthor. During season 6 we got to witness Alex observing how Lena was around Kara, she watched Lena place Kara above all else, supported Kara just like Alex herself does, and willingly endanger herself to protect Kara. Lena didn't take Alex's role in Kara's life, Alex gave it to her after carefully watching and insuring Kara would always have someone who placed her above everything else. Kara would never place herself first which is why Alex always did. With Lena now in that role, Alex could finally build a life for herself, she earned that.

As great as season 4 was, and honestly it may have been the best season, the show never recovered from the lasting damage it actually did to all the characters involved. The Kara and Alex relationship was hands down the heart of the show and season 4 had that relationship on ice for 10 episodes during the mind wipe. Alex getting her memories back was one of the most powerful scenes in the show, but it ended up being the only scene that really addressed how different Alex was without her memories, season 5 should have touched on that more. I'm not sure if it was an intentional decision or oversight, but after the memories were returned, Alex and Kara never got to the same level of emotion and bonding as they did prior. The show decided to add Kelly into the mix which took away from Kara and Alex. That would have been fine because Kara and Lena scenes were often just as powerful except wait, season 4 also removed Lena as Kara's go to person by exposing the lies Kara had been telling Lena. What this meant was that season 5 was missing key elements that had made season 4 so great, even when Kara no longer had Alex, she had Lena, now she had neither and the show really suffered for it. Melissa getting pregnant and the ratings taking a dip due to lack of emotional connection in season 5 was the deathblow to the show. I thought season 6 was incredible, if that type of Lena and Kara bonding had occurred in season 5, the show wouldn't have been canceled, as it was season 5 had no real Kara and Alex moments and no real Kara and Lena moments so the show was given a a final season.
It sad to see the Alex noes ( think she noes ) that Kara and Supergirl are two different people

Imagine if Alex's attempt to forget this goes wrong, so that she forgets that Kara's her sister, but she remembers she loves her and she also remembers that Kara's Supergirl; so she ends up developing romantic feelings for her own stepsister without knowing she *is* her sister! This trajectory would be downright dark, practically taking the both of them on a trip to Hell, but that's not the focus, but an unintended side-effect of a screwed-up attempt to cause her to forget a specific detail of her life. Basic science-fiction plot gone completely wacko idea here.
