Fun fact. Mah-Dry-Bread has collected so many fossils from these runs that it was enough to revive all of them and they now run around in the wild of the Crown Tundra.

The twist being that, you can use items in combat cause pay day gives money and your Pokémon is buying them for you.
It’d be a really interest twist on the normal format. Use a bad move and see how far money can carry you

And Spike, Toxic Spikes, Stealth Rock. Sounds like a run where Forretress and Skarmory would be the Kings. Whirlwind and Roar are brutal moves when all entry hazards are in place.

Maybe add a death counter for individual fights (If they were hard) and a total death counter for the whole run? This might help to emphasize how brutal some of these runs are.

I love how "essentially" all of the elite four in Kanto are built to kill Shedinja. Ice>bug, fighting/rock>bug, ghost>ghost, dragon(well, he's actually just an op bird keeper)/flying>bug. What a great set up for an elite four.

Usually i would say a pokemon challenge but you have done pretty much nearly all of my suggestions, well done, but one i and everyone would love is "Pokemon gen 4 with the least amount of steps with the pokewalker" or to a certain number. Keep up your fantastic work, and merry Christmas.

I originally thought that wasn't a great challenge idea, but it actually ends up being super hard, since you probably get very few (I don't think 0 is possible) pokecenter visits and you'll only ever get to use 6 Pokémon and can't actually look for specific in grass

Bulbasaur honestly might've been the best starter for your rival to have. it has access to status moves/leech seed, and it'd give your rival an arcanine with intimidate.

Gen 2: Literally half of the game is in Kanto.
Gen 3 (FRLG): Remake of Kanto
Gen 3 (Hoenn): The fossil gag, I guess...? It isn't used in other regions, so it could be it.
Gen 4 (Sinnoh): No idea
Gen 4 (HGSS): No run of that yet, though it would have Kanto.
Gen 5: No idea
Gen 5 have Pokémon remniscent of Kanto Pokémon.
Gen 6 has Kalosian Viridian forest, and X and Y versions of Charizard and Mewtwo.
Gen 7 has only regional forms of Generation 1 Pokémon.
While Generation 8 isn’t as reliant on Generation 1 gimmicks, Leon has Charizard as his ace and there are the Galarian versions of Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos.

To be completely honest, I wouldn't mind seeing a ninjask and/or nincada solo run. I think they are a fair bit more interesting than just "I grinded until one shot this with shadow ball"

Bibarrel is easily able to do that, Bidoof could probably beat everything just with grinding
The real challenge there is beating pokemon pearl without going insane
MDB: Talks about using Double Team earlier than usual and how well it synergises.
Also MDB: Completely forgets about Double Team in favour of confusion.
If Blaine uses his potions correctly then this run is gonna be REALLY hard
I think this has to be said here since I rarely see anyone ever talk about it or even acknowledge it.
I believe it's people like Mah-Dry-Beard have the most probability of succeeding in life. Now here me out, it's not about being good at what you do, how much you know or even how funny you are but having a strong sense of confidence and fulfillment in what you do coupled with a strong tenacity helps breed success. It's this tenacity that pretty much guarantees what you do will pay off in the end, and this is one of those moments. Back when MDB first started Pokemon challenges it highlighted a lot of growth for his channel and even helped more realistically do it as a job even with fluctuating RUclips ad rates, for those of you who don't know you get about 2 cents per view on your videos by default and ad revenue brings in a little under a dollar per view. Someone like MahDry who has uploaded a video a day for the past several years regardless of success is extremely inspiring since it's tenacity like this that allows you to survive and remain relevant on RUclips. To all of those who want to be YTs but don't know how to survive on it take MDB as a prime example you don't have to be funny (which MDB is) you don't have to be smart and you don't have to be already well known you just need patience and tenacity and eventually it will pay off. MDB I Salute you for being an amazing content creator with this same tenacity to bring us amazing humorous content every day. It doesn't even matter what content you make you are just funny regardless and I commend you for that!
Can't wait for MDB to troll everyone one day and pick the Dome Fossil to watch everyone lose their minds!
Shedinja is super fun on teams because the game often becomes “kill what can hit shedinja, shedinja kills everything else” he neutralizes huge swaths of npc teams

Pokedex entry for shedinja makes you wonder - if whoever looks into the hole on its back gets its soul sucked out, how does it get released from it's trainer ball? I love shedinja. Such a neat Pokemon idea.
Once you're done with Pokémon X, you should do a challenge of only Klefki in X or Y! :D
Nice run - Shedinja doesn't offer much tactic in a single challenge but you still made it entertaining.
I could only imagine how hard this run would be in B&W, but that kinda makes me want to do it more, if you do I suggest replacing an icy for max difficulty

Pretty sure that’s actually impossible. There’s a mandatory battle on Route 4, the one with sandstorms that don’t subside, and both battles involve the opponent having more than one Pokémon. There’s no way to play around this with a move like Sunny Day, since the TM for that comes much later.
The reason Arbok went for Sludge Bomb is because AI in Pokemon games can't actually see your ability until it's revealed. So Agatha didn't technically "know" that your Shedinja had Wonder Guard until it already went for a Sludge Bomb first. Since you had 1 HP, Agatha's AI just saw it as "any damaging non-normal type move I can go for will KO" so it just selects one randomly. You can see the same effect on things like Volt Absorb Lanturn, or Water Absorb Vaporeon. They go for ineffective moves not considering abilities a lot, at least in gen-3 :)
Probably names him Lesnar instead of Goldberg, because lesnar can actually perform good matches from time to time ;)

The most I've watched of Skyrim ever was that "if i say dragon, 10 dragons spawn" video (which you should totally check out btw, i couldn't stop laughing), but I know other people like thesr challanges, so I think he should do it.

Steelix in emerald. It’s slower than all of Wallace’s Pokémon and is weak to water. Might be a huge problem.

Mah-Dry-Bread can you do a buizel run in platinum cause buizel is a cool not very strong pokemon and i think it could be a fun run. Also a aipom run in pokemon gold or silver should be fun because in these games aipom can learn thunder, ice and fire punch

All useless as they use his special stat not physical due to special /physical split for gen 1-3, stab normal move will generally do more damage

I have an idea for a challenge run: I would be interested in a run where you can choose any pokemon you want (and can let them evolve) - but the challenge is trying to beat the game with it at its lowest possible level. So it would be like golf, the lowest the pokemon's level, the better you do!
This may partially be because I love when pokemon evolve, and partially because I think this would really incentives seeing you create cool strategies to win fights with skill instead of over leveling - which you have said before that you find more fun!
This would really synergise well with a "no pokecenter" run since it would tear you between choosing whether to battle to get money for potions, or whether to not battle to keep your pokemon's level down.

@@robertlupa8273 a Tynamo run isn’t beatable, it only learns 4 moves, 3 of which are electric type and the final is normal type plus elite 4 Shantaul has a Golurk that tynamo can’t actually hit

You need a turn to use burn heal. Shedinja would faint at the end of the turn it was burned. Only the berry would save it

Apropos of references; Can you do a run of Yellow version with a Beedrill named Jake (Obvious reference) and a Butterfree named John (Someone I knew who as a kid did a Butterfree only Yellow run as a kid but savelocked his file on Lorelei lol).
I actually tryed this and got to the "ghost" elite four but I was out sped by gengar

I have actually done this run before as soon as I saw the emerald run. Brock's gym trumped me sooo hard but i somehow got a lucky win using sand attack and beat him in around my 20ies, which you clearly did better then me ofc, so props to you.
