  • Juneteenth is the newest federal holiday to join the calendar since Martin Luther King Day was first acknowledged in 1983, and like every American holiday, food is involved! Native Texan, Joi Chevalier, CEO of Cook’s Nook, has recognized Juneteenth her entire life. She explains the foods typically eaten during Juneteenth have roots in the Black American diaspora, and are often eaten picnic-style. Foods and even drinks have symbolic meaning on Juneteenth. #InsideEdition
