"Lovely Day" was released in 1977; so, it's part of the soundtrack of my teenage years. That song always takes me back to high school and makes me smile every single time I hear it! 😃

I absolutely love this song!!!!! Bill Withers did another song on this album called, "Just The Two Of Us" which was an amazing song & it had a little bit of the island beat". I remember dancing to both of these songs. He also did a song called, "Ain't No Sunshine" i believe in me mid 70's that was a hit!!! Great reaction, Tim!!!! He's not really into R&B, but I think he's coming around a bit, lol, because I was listening to Earth Wind & Fire last week & he asked me who the group was & I told him, he said it had a great beat. So, he secretly enjoys it, lol!! 😂

I once took a train across the USA from Tucson to New York, coach class. Woke up after a weird sitting-upright kind of sleep, and we were pulling into the Chicago terminal for a 2-hour layover. Got out of the train and this song was playing inside the terminal. It really brightened my day. Every time I hear it, I think of that moment (and Chicago)!

Oh yeah, this is another good one. I remember growing up playing outside with my friends and my cousins while all my family were just having a good time in the summer cooking out. Thank you for bringing back some great memories growing up as a kid.

I used to sing this song to and about my dog Jack. He was the only being in my corner for several years. I rescued him at the age of 6 and he rescued my day every day until he died of bone cancer at 10. That was 12 years ago. I still get teary eyed whenever I hear this song or the cover of it by Walter Beasley. But that's what great songs do - evoke emotion and memories.

Maybe listen to "Use Me". That's another favorite Bill Withers song. I'm old school rock and roll and my 17 year old grandson is rap and hip hop but Bill Withers is one musician who is bridging our gap. Your channel is one of the best out there.

This is one of those songs that, even if I have it on endless repeat, I never EVER EVER get tired of hearing it.
This is easily just one of the best songs ever written by anyone, IMO.
Also (if I'm remembering correctly) Bill Withers was renowned for his lung capacity/ability to hold notes. And this song is one of his most famous ones for holding a seriously, wonderfully long note.

There is always other songs by Bill Withers -Just The Two Of Us, Lean On Me, Ain't No Sunshine, and probably other songs. Amazing he was a chronic stutter and could sing well. He was in the service for many years as well.
