- This video showcases a trip Drew Ruana and I went on in early October. These three days were the best three days of climbing Drew has ever had. He managed to send 18 of Joes Valley's hardest boulders, including the second ascent of Insurgency v14/15.

whats crazy about that move is that he has to do a one arm pullup to maintain his friction because his feet swung so far, AND its on a slopey ledge. That pull-up increases the friction on the hold as to mitigate the momentum going away from the wall.

Insane 3 days. What's the difference between a 1st attempt and a flash?
He already did half the moves, just hadn't tried it from the start.
He flashed the stand, then just attempted it from the sit after that, so he technically had already “flashed” from the stand, just hadn’t done any of the intro moves yet
Didn’t„flash“ use to mean climbing in the first try but having seen someone doing before!? onsight was the first try without seeing someone doing it!?

Why do you differentiate from 1st go and flash? Is there a difference implied
A flash is if you have never climbed that boulder before. For example you can flash the stand start and send the sit first go. The sit adds new moves into the moves you had previously done in the stand start
there is just way too much editing in the actual climbs, it really detracts from the watchability of this otherwise good bouldering footage.

5 star climbing, 1 star music. Drone footage and interview/training montages automatically get zero stars.
Savage! Raw talent isn’t as unusual as some of us are accustomed to thinking it is, neither is an uncompromising work ethic. But it is pretty rare to find those two things together! And he’s not lyin about climbing since he was 3. I remember it... lol. Awesome to get a peek of the Joe’s trip!
