The audio was really helpful. Thanks for adding it in. I bought the Fed 5 and the Lubitel 166 today from Toy Outpost. After seeing this vid, I'm tempted to get the Fed 2, too!
Hi I just got a mint FED 2C in the box this morning!.. i downloaded the PDF English manual but this was way more helpful! Especially the film loading bit! Great video thanks!
So i found 2x cameras hidden in the attic of my house, one was a FED3, but written in russian though. i guess, is this worth anything? both perfect condition. Other is a Zenith, also written in russian. Thanks!
@manepradeep Thank you! B mode = Bulb mode. By setting it to 'B', you will hold the shutter open for as long as your finger is on the shutter button. Usually this is used for night shots when you want to have those crazy light streaks in your photo. A tripod is recommended. Technically-wise, you will only need to use this mode when you are doing long exposures such as 2 seconds and above, as the camera does not have a preset for 2 seconds and above. Hope this helps!
hey, might be a stupid question, but how do you know what apereture/iso/shutter speed to choose, when your camera (like this one) doesn't have a light meter?
Some use an empirical method known as "Sunny 16" (you can use google to read about it) while others use dedicated meters to identify the "correct" exposure. Additionally, there are apps available for either, Android, IOS or other OSs that calculate the exposure parámeters with the cellphone. I use one called Light Meter for Android.
Just finished a CLA on a FED-2b, couldn't figure out how to load it. LOL, got a free j9 85/2! came with the industar 26 with the red letter on it. Test roll goes in tomorrow, if all is well I'm 2/2 on my rangefinder CLA's, the first being a 1945 Kodak 35RF
The frame counter is manually set by turning it with your fingers. Some like on my Fed2 have a little notch on the frame counter wheel that you can use your fingernail to help pull the number to zero once you got the film wound.

Which measure?

Hey this was a really useful video. Thanks. One question, what is the B-mode used for, and how and when to use it?

Hope you'll be uploading a Lubitel tutorial video soon. That would really be helpful. :)
I bought a FED 3, but I'm not sure which films I should use. What would you recommend? Thanks
can u explain how the film counter work?
nice video!
Do you know is there possible to make double exposition?
are the pictures black and white?
depends on your film
Pull up on the rewind knob, it will come above the top and be easier to rewind.

OMG Thanks for this video you've literally saved my live :D (HUG)
how do you correctly set the frame number .... ?

How much does it cost?
if you look at them on ebay, you will find them from 20$ to 100$, they are very inexpensive :)
