This year I got to meet Will Power in Portland. He was a real gentleman as we talked. He was about to get in his car in a few minutes but that didn't stop him from being totally focused on me during our conversation. He was calm and relaxed just being in those moments no anxiety about the race. It was a chance meeting that I'll never forget. I've been following IndyCar since the 60's. It's been a great 2021 season.
I've been a Japanese fan since Palow was racing in Japan.
I'm really happy that he became the champion in two years.
Congratulations!!!
Amazing season! Good seeing Palou getting his first win AND first championship at the same time!! Came bc of Grosjean and Palou, stayed as a new Herta fanboy as well!
Agreed. Herta's quick and fun to watch, gonna be interesting to see what else he's gonna show in the future.
Long Beach needs to be the finale every year.
i thought palou won in barber
ok so i'm an idiot
The 2021 IndyCar season will be missed….
What an AMAZING season and I’m forever grateful to be an IndyCar fan! Can’t wait for 2022 :)
Yeah man I hope the 2022 would be same as 2021
@@diethersantos6404 it’s gonna be GREAT!
If you will be at the season ender 2022 Laguna seca NTT indy. let's get some drinks 💪🏻
@@rb0460 if only I lived at the West Coast😅
@@IanTheMotorsportsMan_YT do they still race in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania? Or any track close to you?
F1 fan here... Indy seems to be a blaster to watch. Congrats to Herta and Palou
Today was not a good day for McLaren boys... both F1 and Indy.
but they will come back stronger and faster next year.
Danny Ric was doing just fine. Just Lando … well. Let’s not talk about lando
Well... That was certainly something...
Heartbreak for both Pato and Grosjean. They made such a good work all season, but that's how the sport is...
Felicidades Palou. Que disfrutes de tu título.
Can't wait for 2022...
Grosjean was a monster at Laguna last week. He could have pushed harder but very hard track to handle with how they are tuned to long beach streets
So glad Grosjean has signed for next year. Well played on win Herta and what a season for Palou
I started watching indycar this year as an f1 fan just to see how grosjean would do, and now as the season finishes it's become one of my favourite series in all of racing, thank you 2021 and I look forward to next year :)))
My hometown race never disappointing...Congrats Colton.
Congrats to Alex! Thanks IndyCar for another great season. Bring on 2022.
Colton Herta is the most formidable indycar driver on street courses. This year:
St. Pete- win
Nashville- (mostly 2nd until) crash
Long Beach- Win
Enhorabuena Alex Palou.
If Indycar wants to borrow one thing that F1 does a million times better.....the podium celebration. Indycar has never had a serious winners podium, just a small stand like a go cart track. Indycar needs to think big like F1 and allow the fans at the race to come over to a raised podium and celebrate with the top three drivers for each race. Mr. Penske needs to raise the game for post race celebrations so the fans can participate and start to know who the drivers really are. Good luck! Oh and I've been to 25 Indy 500 and 7 Indy F1 races.
Good point. The only places where the podium celebrations are actually pretty grand are Texas and Indy (both the GP and the 500)
@@CoSmicGoesRacing Indycar RUclips team also need to learn from Sky F1 RUclips team
@Coffee Man because in USA is a diferent tradition from the rest of the world, in all american categories allways put the car and it's driver on the "victory lane", is a long lived tradition wich came since the first Indy 500, and you know how americans are for traditions. I don't see it changing in the times to come, they don't want to be F1.
@@milesr4609 plus, the tradition of spraying champagne in victory lane was made popular by IndyCar drivers Dan Gurney and AJ Foyt when they won Le Mans in 1967. You have them to thank for that tradition.
@@CoSmicGoesRacing yes i know about that, the thing is, at each at it's own, if people want to know the drivers or teams i suggest that starting to follow the series races is a better way than making it up with podiums, press conferences and all that paraphernalia ala F1 style. Just watch the freaking races...
Congratulations to Palou on the drivers championship. First non-Scott Dixon Ganassi champion since Franchitti in 2011 I think.
Correct
Funny how Felix left Ganassi cuz he didn't want to be under Scott's shadow, Alex joined and won the championship the first year with them! So happy for him
Newgarden exists
@@mahiristewart7237 Newgarden never drove for Ganassi. For most of the last decade. Ganassi was a Dixon show.
@@mrbloodmuffins Oh. I thought you meant he was the first non Dixon OR non Ganassi champ
Colton imo is by far the best driver in IndyCar...he just has to grow a bit more experience and consistency. I'll be surprised if he doesn't win a championship next season or the season after that.
I don’t it is very difficult to say who is the absolute best in Indycar. Colton is awesome but there are other great drivers in IndyCar also! I don’t think I have seen the series packed with so much talent since the 90s
I didn’t expect Palou to win the championship, what an underdog
Hello Palou, welcome to the champions club, you deserve that one.
I wish the indycar season would go on longer than just september.
It will actually begin earlier in 22 but also end earlier. Indycar would like to end before the NFL season starts.
What. A. Season. Congrats to Palou! Looking forward to what 2022 has in store!
I was there yesterday it was awesome
Hard to believe that this season is already over. It went too fast, just like Ed Jones into Pato O' Ward.
Jokes aside, Herta would have dominated this championship if he had a more consistent season.
it was pretty cool to see the lbgp comeback well after those 2 years. I enjoyed seeing these cars in person
What a great season. Thank you!!!
GOODBYE INDYCAR ON NBCSN AND THANK YOU
GOODBYE INDYCAR ON NBCSN AND THANK YOU
Watching this again at the beginning of 2023, still thinking that Alex Palou still the MOST UNDERRATED driver over the grid... Even with his x1 NTT Indycar Series Championship, x4 GP wins and x15 Podiums, no one talks about his talent...
What a weekend! Cant wait to go back!!
tough luck for Pato and Newgarden but congrats to Palou. What a season this was ,cant wait for 2022
Thanks for this amazing season 💜
Good weekend for the two Scott's.
Nice to see Newgarden and Dixon not be sawed off!
Great job by both Colton and Alex. Im not a huge Indy car fan but I like watching highlights. I think this was a good season. I will watch a race one day.
I don’t know if this will go anywhere, but I would love to see a race back in the DC/Virginia/Maryland area again. I just moved out of Southern California and I dearly missed Long Beach this year and a 7 hour drive one-way to Mid-Ohio is just too much. Bringing back Baltimore, having something in the capital for DC, even Philadelphia for the country’s birthplace I’d try and work out. For the population it has, the Eastern seaboard is very neglected when it comes to Indy and (while I’m biased) I think the DMV area would be a good central location to have Indy in.
I am an Anglo, Viva Pato, Viva Alex. Do people realize that there are more Spanish speaking citizens and immigrants in the US than there are in Spain? I think it is a credit to Indy Car fans that a racer's country of origin is unimportant, and because of it, the American Indycar Series is the best racing in the world.
What a season for Scott McLaughlin 🇳🇿 2022. You better recognise
I honestly cannot wait for 2022. I wanna see how Grosjean does with Andretti Autosport.
Fun season, Herta is as good as they get wow
Herta back 2 back baby!!!
What a masterclass!!!
I hope for next season Erickson wil be in the mix for the championship. he won two races this season and sixth place in the championship
Congratulations to McLaughlin! No disrespect to Grojean, but the young Kiwi is one talented driver!
1:59 Ericsson: "I think Grosjean hit us!"
Ed Jones is talented wrecking ball. Took out Graham Rahal at Gateway. Then takes Pat O'Ward who was in the running for the championship. I'm not surprise if he ran him out of Indycar.
Congratulations, Alex🙌🙌🇯🇵You're my favorite driver😆, since SUPER FORMULA and SUPER GT🇯🇵🇯🇵Your dreams come true👏👏😂
The Start in Long Beach is such a mess, maybe moving it to the Backstretch would help to let the Field race closer in the opening.
A european driver named Alex Winning a Championship in a ganassi... It just feels right
Muy bien Palou felicidades 👏
And now... 2 times Indycar Champion. ALEX PALOUUU
Next year please work on the starts Indycar, starts and yellows. Otherwise you are hitting your groove
History is made Herta get home race win to be an Title favourite for 2022, incredible finale Josef so close to back to back but 2nd isn't enough, Oward unlucky, Palou youngest indycar Champ with 24 it's history, Grosjean make progress in rookie season maybe he can get wins in 2022
2022 Herta, Josef, Palou, Oward & Grosjean for the title 🤩👍
Colton Herta really is the Max Verstappen of IndyCar
2022 Indycar Season looking ahead
Fewer private test days before races
Hybrid testing from a single source engine producing 900 horses while both collaborative from Chevrolet and Honda for 2023
Driver changes
And new Dallara Chassis testing
If this sport does end up going hybrid hopefully it sounds pleasant like the V6s they use now, if not better
Few things: the engine wouldn’t be too different from the current formula. Expect it to sound similar. The major changes are just gonna be the HP output, increase in Displacement and the addition of the hybrid system.
For the chassis, I hope they integrate the aeroscreen better into the design. But I have no doubt that they will want to make it look like more retrofuturistic. Embrace the CART look but still look like something that would not feel out of place in this decade.
@@CoSmicGoesRacing This is why I think should go to a V8 instead of a hybrid
@@marcelomc781 but would Honda or Chevy be willing to do that (Chevy might but would Honda do it again)?
I don't see a problem continuing with a V6 albeit with increased displacement, increased power and a hybrid system. Sounds decent to me.
HELLLLOOOOO PALOUWWWWW! Congrats!
Ericsson: I think Ericsson hit us!...
Sometimes these rotating camera angles are the worst.
And that's that.
#LongBeachGP in #IndyCar
Im a die hard f1 fan....is it worth watching Indycar? Does it have hard racing but fair strewarts?
If you are looking for hard racing and great battles, IndyCar is superior to F1.
@@nickb2049 thx
What happened to Grosjean? You did not show it in these highlights
He brushed a wall slightly and broke the toe link
Pato o'ward 💪🏿✌️
Oh man you guys could have extended the video a bit more
It's champion's day
In a few hours Indycar upload here a 30 minutes highlights video. They do this for all races. They use to call it "Fast Forward"
Anyone knows maybe how to watch Full IndyCar races online? Thanks.
You know that hairpin wasn't a place for divebomb Ed, should know better...
What happened to Romain Grosjean?
From these highlights I legit dunno what happend to grosjean
He brushed the wall slightly and I think broke the toe link
Our guy Conor got run off the track by a craphead named Oliver today, Kat. Oliver!
Where was Grosjean at the end? He got a DNF?
I was at the race, he was 24th, brought the car in with 9 laps to go, got out and that was it. Something up was with the car he was dropping back every lap.
@@veins91 Man, that sucks. Absolutely sucks. Thanks for the info.
@@lukewood2662 Yeah I was incredibly bummed. I hadnt been to the LBGP in years but went just to see him. Gutted for him but I'll be there next year. I feel like next season will be his.
@@veins91 He brushed the wall slightly and broke the toe link
Amazing that a woman won the race.
So much for bunching up the field at the start. That should have been waved off. Over half the field was still coming around the corner when the green flag dropped.
Indycar should not have rolling starts on road/streetcourses. Half the time only 1/3 of the field are lined up with each other
Did not go do to Long Beach UNCONSTITUTIONAL health mandates. I'm not sharing my health info with a sporting event!
Great race. Dear Ed Jones: I hate you and please just go race sports cars. You always get top rides that other drivers have won in and you don't do anything but spin my boy Pato out of a championship.
Ok I'm done. Gutted for Pato though.
