It's a tricky conversation because once trends start, it’s tough to reverse. However, Black women and even gay men are excelling in academia and closing the wage gap. But black men aren't seeing enrollment increases in college programs, despite increased benefits like Pell grants, minority scholarships, free community college, and trade programs across most states. There are also shortages in the trades.

I felt lost and maybe becuz of that I didn't deserve to go to college. I was mostly a C student sometime B and my school did a good job at letting u know how much they don't care for C students. We have to reach black boys at the elementary level within the educational system so that they have an idea what college is like. For example, take them to colleges in their early years. Have symposiums for parents to talk to their children about college.

There has been correspondence between the administration, and I am told we have a long list of legal complaints which the USDE should step in address these issues with administration because calling campus police on students that is African American should be considered retaliation for witness intimidation and obstruction.
