Yes!!! Pls do make a video for the sketchbook process !! (Gonna edit the comment as i watch the entire video) Leslie you coud makw a painting vlog in like a coffee shop by a nice window painting the outside rain and even the inside of the cofee shop!!
Every thing fits soo perfect ❤
Heyy your glasses are very nice!!
Damm ur sooo creative ❤ i wouldn't havw though of making it a purse!
Thanks! Yes, I filmed as I made the sketchbook so I can edit that into a video. The belt and purse idea came from painting outside a lot and knowing what things have worked and not worked for me in the past. I’m excited to use it!! ❤
Agreed on love to see the book tutorial!
I second this idea.
I would like to see a longer video of you filling the mini Sendak!
This is THE most thorough, most helpful review of this (or any) art accessory! You’re really the queen of ingenious solutions!
Wow, thanks so much! 🥰
A big vote for yes, please, on the sketchbook video!! This would be perfect timing for me as I have just acquired all the materials (hopefully) and am in search of the best video tutorial. I think I can speak for all of us here; we would be over the moon to learn this technique from you, Leslie!
Okay! I’ll get on it! 😊
@@LeslieStroz So looking forward to it. 🙏 Thank you!
I'd love to see a video on making the sketchbook and how you set up your Mini!
Thanks for letting me know! 😊
Art Toolkit has little thin plastic pots...I have one in my Sendak pockets.
I have a moss green, and a grey Sendak, absolutely love them.
So happy to see a video about them and see what you put in yours.
I also bought two of their pouches they can piggyback on top of you Sendak and hold secure under the belt.
The belt can even thread through the peg and awl leather front plate perfectly on one of the pouches.
I have the pencil pouch size on my moss green Sendak that I use for my watercolor supplies. One of my palettes fits perfectly in it.
And a smaller pouch on my grey Sendak that I use for my colored pencil supplies.
I'd love to see a video about you filling your small Sendak!
I could talk about these all day....so happy for you and excited I think you'll love yours.
Thanks for all the great ideas! Adding an additional pouch to the strap if needed is clever. I love Art Toolkit too; their mini palettes are terrific! 😊
Such a great idea with the purse strap!
I really appreciate this review. I am a guy that tries to make my own gear so this is a great inspiration.
After I watched this review, I ordered the Sendak for myself. It JUST arrived and I’m very excited by it. Hands-down, much better than the pencil case I’ve been struggling with so far. I can hardly wait to get out and paint. Thank you so much for your very thorough review.
I am so happy you like your Sendak!
Yes please. The sketch book binding process. Wonderfully placed and organized.
Okay! 😊
Clever setting!
I would love to see a long video on the small size. I just bought a small one for short trips or waiting at the drs. The belt ideas I awesome!
Oooh nice! I’m really excited for the small one too. 😊
I love my mini Sendak! Nice to see how you set up the larger version!
Tip for the crayons, draw a square with each colour on watercolor paper, just to transfer crayon. This makes the most portable pallet ever ☺️ You can make this as big or small as you need, and are super easy to make ☺️
I got this for Christmas last year, and I love it so much. It's one of my prized artist possessions. I keep it ready to go out painting, and it has really helped get me out of the house. Very versatile. I'm also planning to make a watercolour sketch book to go in the back pocket, and maybe one slimline one for the inside. I'm looking forward to seeing how you fill yours ❤
Leslie does the small Sendak have outer pockets? I couldn't tell. I got a scribbler pouch for days I'm travelling really light.
It’s nice to hear that you love yours too. You should definitely make custom sketchbooks for it- you can use any paper you like. I didn’t fully understand how DIFFERENT it is from other artist rolls until I got it. The mini DOES have pockets on the outside too. I’m really excited for that one too! ❤
I enjoy watching all of the content you provide. The way you use supplies, the background information you have taught, and, of course, your tiny paintings. You also have the voice of a siren. And I answered. 🤗 I have looked at the sendak! But your video "made" me need it! It arrived yesterday & I love it. I wonder just how many Sendaks have gone out the doors of Peg & Awl's doors.
Anyway, thank you for sharing your talents. I look forward to your next.
Yes please to the sketchbook video. I have to say I appreciate how bright your lighting is, very easy to see all the details.
Really great review. Can’t wait to see you try it outside.
For your kneaded eraser, you could make a little envelope from some recycled acetate.
Great idea! 😊
I have one in these colours and I love it! I got a collapsible cup that collapses to about 1/4” deep so I can use my regular travel brushes, too. I enjoy my water brushes but sometimes I want to use a regular brush and water.
This has convinced me to get a Sendak. I’ve been looking at them for ages. I love having a pick up and go art pack and I’ve tried many in the past. This has got to be the one! Thanks for going over the wrap so completely. Also please do the sketchbook tutorial as I love making books and looks so cute. X
I totally love my Sendak and hope you like yours too. The sketchbook tutorial is up! 😊
Love, love, love the SENDak art roll. You have put a creative spin on using the belt. Having everything you need with you is lovely. I ordered one for my trip coming up. I would like very much a video on making the sketchbook. Thank you for this lovely video. It makes me want to go out and paint!
That’s awesome!! I’ll post the sketchbook tutorial very soon! The Sendak will be great for your trip! 😊
That’s great! Lots of good ideas!
Love it. Thank you for sharing.
your video was one of main reasons i bought 2 sendaks at Jackson's. i have watched other videos, too. i can hardly put my dissapointment into words. noone every mentioned how the sendak feels damp to the touch. it's an unpleasant sensation and now i wonder if it will ever go away.
I have the mini and love it. Love your belt hack. ❤
This was so enjoyable to watch! The ingenuity! 🤗✨🎨💕
I loved watching how you organized your supplies and gave alternative modifications! So many ideas! Your easy conversational style makes me want to paint! I will be getting one of these bags as I have looked at them for a few months. I would like to watch your sketchbook video too! 🙂
I love the Peg&Awl pouch it’s absolutely fantastic. Mine got stolen earlier this year from my car and can’t afford to get another at the moment but, will certainly get one again. I really like what you’ve put in yours. I had a couple of my favourite travel brushes in mine to have a variety of sizes. The Daler Rowney palette is a nice size for the pouch. Thank you for sharing this video it was very interesting.
I’m so sorry yours was stolen. I hope you’re able to get a new one soon.
Thank you. This was a lovely, thoughtful video chock full of useful ideas!
It is amazing
I really want the process of making the sketchbook
Okay!! I’ll edit it. 😊❤
@@LeslieStroz thank you so much :)
such a brilliant review Leslie, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us ☺☺☺
You’re so welcome! 😊
This was really peaceful to watch!
Yes on the sketchbook making video! I love this whole setup! I love your shorts, and I'd like to see more long form!
Thanks so much! 😊
Love the quick draw aspect of the belt kit setup. Definitely need the sketchbook creation process please ❤
Hi there Leslie,
I want to thank you for the effort and time you so kindly put into your videos!
I loved watching you filling your Sendak. I struggle with not having "everything" with me wherever I attempt watercolour painting! To watch the thought process of your selection was helpful.
I would love to watch a video where you teach your viewers how to create their own book!
🥰 With much gratitude,
Linda Smith McCormack
New Brunswick, Canada
Thanks so much, Linda. It’s always a process de using what to bring on a journey. Thanks for coming along on mine. 😊
Wow that’s so neat! Adding the belt was a great idea 🤗
YES! Please make a video of your sketchbook process 😊
Thanks for sharing! Very innovative with your belt!
Oof. I'm in love with it already!
Can’t wait to see the smaller case 😍
I keep my kneaded eraser in a SD-card container, it's very flat/shallow :)
Omg!! Brilliant idea!! Thank you!! 🙏🏼
Thanks for this tutorial
Love the washi tape move, wow! Can you wrap up your eraser in some baking paper? And the strap/belt,,,I love it! These are great ideas! Thanks so much! 🎉❤
I found a perfect little tin for it, but the baking paper is also a good idea. 😊
you have inspired me to order one!!!
Yes, please do! We would like to know how you made your little sketchbook! ❤
Will do!! 🤗
I love it!!!!!!
Brilliant use of your belt. I have the same green pencil case & am so disappoint the way it s fraying all over. I tried shaving off the wispy bits-but to no avail. I’d love to see your smaller version of this new case when you get it. Thank you for sharing all your tips & tiny sketchbook paintings. You are a great inspiration for me!
What a fabulous little pouch - I might have to look at these - looks perfect! I like the hands free neck loop too!
Jackson’s sells them here in the U.K. The lanyard thingy was a Tiktok shop suggestion. 😅
Please share how you make your sketchbooks. I'd love to learn the process. You've made the most out of your sketch bag; it's very efficient and versatile. Thanks for the washi tape tip.
My pleasure! The sketchbook tutorial will happen! 😊
Hi, Leslie! Thank you for your videos, i really enjoy them. Could you please makes full length video updates on all the products from peg and awl that you have. They are good but pricey so I’d like to have more information before the purchase. Thank you in advance ❤
Great review Leslie. This is a wonderful product from Peg and Awl. ❤
The attention to detail and quality in their products is so rare to find these days. They’re a worthwhile investment for sure. ❤
YES YES PLEASE do make the video for the sketchbook making!!❤️❤️❤️
Will do! 😊
For the kneaded eraser, try antique coin capsules. You can find very shallow ones for larger coins that would work perfectly. You just need to find the twist ones, and unfortunately they come in packs of 10-25. But an antiques dealer could probably sell you some solo.
Yes please! I also cast my vote for videos on sketchbook making & filling your mini artist roll. Your videos are so helpful to watch! :))
Thank you! I’ll put it together. 😊
Great video and yes, please show how you made the sketchbook ❤😊
I have one and love it! I have a video on my channel where I convert it to a hanging roll so I can use it standing up 🥰
Thanks so much for the mention - I love your belt variation too!
Oooh! YES!! Yours was the one I saw! Terrific idea!!! ❤
@@LeslieStroz oh cool! It’s held up well, even though my kids are pretty rough on it 😂
You could strap this to the painting box and they would look great together!
Yes please let me know ho made the paintbook in a long video. Dear Leslie I realy am flashed by all the very good ideas you showed in the video. The belt is a very special helpful idea of yours . It does not look all to heavy to carry around .
( I have a idea of where you can put the rubber in Germany the pharmacy have very tiny cans with a screw lid . ( can not get that properly translated )Maybe you can get them in England as well , they are used if you need a very tiny amount of cream medicine .
The envelopes you made a great.
Lovely and creative have a nice time with the pouch when it is not rainy we also have rain here. Many greetings wishing you a very nice week Christiane 😊😊❤
Gosh I wish I could get that cass water color pallet in the US it just looks like such a nice size with great colors.
That’s a beautiful sketchbook! I love the covers in particular. Definitely would love a video on it!
It’s up! 😊
For my kneaded eraser I use Art Toolkit's mini snap containers (set of 3) and they are perfectly small for popping into my different pouches and things! Also, I love my mini Sendak art roll, but now am eyeing the larger one lol! Thanks for the video!
Oooh, I’ll have to check out their mini snap containers!! Thanks! 😊
Of course! I had a container similar to what you have, and these tiny little containers are so wonderful and barely take up space!@@LeslieStroz
Of course!@@LeslieStroz
What a fun feed crossover! I've been following Peg&Awl for years, so this artist review is a treat. :)
I’m glad you liked it. Yes, they’re a wonderful company! 😊
You could use an empty single-eyeshadow container for your kneaded eraser. Most of them might be wider in diameter than your current container but they are usually pretty shallow.
Cool ❤❤❤
This is such a lovely roll! I definitely can relate to wanting to have materials that wear well with time and look rustic like the old masters - and this definitely does the trick! I think I’m going to have to add this to my wishlist, this is so beautifully made.
Ashley, you would love it!! It’s like the art kit you use but you can tuck it away when you’re travelling or not using it. 😊
@@LeslieStroz That’s exactly what I was thinking!
I love this!!! I’d love to see your book process and a longer video with the mini Sendak. Thank you for sharing!
You’re welcome! My mini arrives tomorrow. I can’t wait! 😊
@@LeslieStroz you’re welcome! I’ve had my eye on these for some time now. I do neurographic art and collage but am starting to sketch and dabble in watercolor and gouache. I’d love to have a Sendak. I rarely ever work in sizes larger and 5x7. Think it’d be perfect for me.
I just got my pencil case set up to how I love it (almost identical to yours) for tiny paintings and now you bring this to my world! 😅
❤
I need a video tutorial for the sketchbook! I have been looking into book binding and ways I can make my own sketchbook recently. Yours checks all the boxes, it’s exactly what I have in mind!
I would love to see a video of the process of making the little watercolor journal. You did a beautiful job!
It’s up! 😊
Yes show how you made the sketchbook!
I like what you did with the belt especially it turning into a bag...so much easier to hold.
I would love to see a video on how you make your notebooks.
Thank you! I’ll make a sketchbook video soon! 😊
I'm so glad I found your videos, can you share where the small black palette (your additional colors one) came from it looks supper thin. I'm going to have to see if you have a studio tour on your channel. Thank you for your thorough videos.
I love your videos so much ❤ keep going ❤❤
Thank you! ☺️
This is great!! I would still put in grommets on the flap and run the belt or a canvas strap through it and around my waist for that type of apron! A canvas strap would be just a little longer to enable it to be tied, so folded up it could be worn as a crossbody bag!! Very cleaver ideas!! Thanks for all the tips.
There are so many options!! 😊
Beautiful. Inspired by your wonderful work, today I posted my first travel doodles drawing on RUclips 😂❤
I am also very int3rested in the sketchbook video, especially how you made it lay flat
Will do! 😊
Mine is made of leather. Yes, it has fewer pockets, as I use this as my fountain pens and documents and few instruments holder.
I agree with you. Canvas, leather and cotton wear and age with grace and they can last a very long time. Plastic and plastic-derived materials tend to just fall apart, and look shabby.
Yes Id love how to see you make the sketchbook :)
It’s up! 😊
Love this video. I would love to see a video of the handmade sketchbook.
It’s up! 😊
OMG love ❤️ it
Hello from Beautiful British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦
I am going to try the baking parchment paper because i love using graphite have been trying to figure out how to take it with me.
Inspiring.
Great!! I don’t know how long the envelopes will last, but I like that they will keep everything else from getting dirty! I have little waxed paper bags for seeds that I just remembered; those would also work! 😊
Holy cannoli. I just clicked over and saw the price. YIKES!!!
Yes, I hear you. But I wasted money on loads of cheaper ones that didn’t last and weren’t a patch on this one. For serious artists this is a good investment. For casual ones or those in a budget a less expensive one works fine.
@@LeslieStroz ouch. Saying it’s for serious artists was a little snarky.
I would very much like to see more about making your journal and the set up of the mini version sendak. Please & thank you. 😊
It’s up! 😊
Cut a gift card into half or 4ths and place your needed eraser in between two pieces. It’s protects your eraser and the corners act as a scraper knife.
Cool idea! 😊
Thank you for sharing. I am a bag maker and I think I will be making myself one of these.🤩.I think most artists like collecting art supplies and tools and need a way of protecting our investment.
Yes, definitely! It will be extra special to make one for yourself. 😊
You should try the washy tape holders from jet pens. They’re so cute and it’s like a pen so it’s easy to carry. It’s called
Kanmido Maco Washi Tape Holder
An idea for shallow containers: I sometimes see (brush) toothpicks come with a cover case. Maybe that will work!
Thanks! Thats a good idea! 😊
Now I have to get this pen roll. I’ve been drooling over it for weeks . 😂
No video tour does it justice. The feel of it and its practicality far exceeded my expectations. I’m also excited for the mini, which is small enough to fit in my purse for every day art. You won’t be disappointed! 😊
I really enjoyed this video, and I really like how you use the belts to make it work even better for you. Great video, subscribed.
I really want a Sendak... They are expensive. I do sewing for myself, I'm thinking of trying to make one for myself (not to sell, just so I don't have to pay so much in Australian Dollars plus the shipping)
Amazing video
Thank you! 😊
Oh, another beautiful art supply. I wish we had 7 Christmases in a year 😂
Same! 😅
Great Video, would love to Watch another Long video ❤
Thanks! I post one every week. 😊
I’m not one to coment often or ask questions. However I found this video very interesting and informative. I’m not sure if there is a supply list but would love one. I’m epecially interested in the additional black watercolor palette. Anyway thank you for sharing
Hello … love all tour videos & thank you for sharing all of your knowledge. I’ve learned so much. 😊 I was wondering if an a5 sketchbook would fit in the pockets in the back?
Yes, I think it would. 😊
For the kneaded eraser maybe it would fit in one in one of those plastic cases meant to hold a pair of SD cards or a micro SD and the full size adapter? If the erraser will fit it would be very thin.
Love your videos, so calming an inspiring! ♡ Could watch them for hours, all you do is lovely. Coming back gradually from a burnout and watching your videos is one of the few things that actually gets my heart and head out of "fight or flight mode".
One question, what colours are your two SENDAK rolls? I'm on their website but find it hard to really get a sense of the different colours. (Seems your larger one is in "Truffle" maybe?)
Leslie, I am new to your channel today! ‘ Would love to see links to the supplies used and a video about the sketchbook you made. Thank you in advance.xx Leslie from FL
It’s always enjoyable watching your videos. Thank you for sharing. 🙏🏻 For your kneadable eraser, I suggest a contact lens case or a case of a skincare sample. I use it for a lot when I travel. 😅
Those are great ideas. I think this one is about the same size though. I don’t know if a case as small as I’d like exists! 😅
Do you have a video on the mechanical drawing pencils? I've tried to look for a good video but can't seem to find one. Would love a video showing a drawing with the different sizes/degrees of darkness.
I like it. It makes me want to get organized. I have a few things already but I can’t seem to find the exact one or I accidentally order wrong.one question:what do you use for protecting sketch pages. I have been looking at some products like laminate or something. What do you recommend. Thanks for the video. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
