Nikon reaaaally did themselves a huge favor with the big lens mount and short flange distance. So adaptable! And yes, I own a PC. I need it for Solidworks and AI work... and many people own pc's for gaming as well ;)
Thanks for sharing this Alex! The ZF has been probably my favorite camera after trying almost every brand's top cameras in the past 5 years. The colors, autofocus, retro vibes, the flip screen, it just checks all of the boxes for me. It reminds me of the SL2-S, which is another favorite of mine, but that camera has a lot more limitations for IMO and it was not reliable enough for me (I had a failed shutter on it after 1yr of ownership). I haven't used the Techart adapter, but I do have the Fotodiox Pronto autofocus adapter and I love it. The AF is a little slower than native z glass (including S glass), but the idea of being able to use the small m mount glass with autofocus instead of the giant Z mount S glass (e.g. 50mm 1.2) is what led me to buying this setup. My only complaints about the Pronto adapter is I wish it had 6 bit encoding, similar to the M to L mount adapter (I used stored lens profile from within the ZF menus, but it's not perfect), and the fact that the adapter is loud as it obtains focus. Btw, thanks for inspiring me to go to the gym more... Take care and keep up the great work!
I have this adapter and I'm having so much fun. I know it's prone to defects but mine is still working. I'm af with contax zeiss kreves, voigtlander and leica 🤩
I would always prefer to use the beautiful Voigtländer lenses on the Zf. And the Zf doesn't need the additional grip for small lenses if you support the lens with the left hand.
Selling my entire Fuji kit and my mp240 and grabbing this. Those 2 systems have been “required” for 2 different purposes for a while. Now THIS changes things and I can FINALLY trim my kit down.
Didn't know about this adaptor as I have Z Nikon and M lens that I have a manual adaptor to integrate the two together. Most of my M lens have the floating lens. As an aside, I was a long time Apple person from the late 90's but switch to PC around 2015 when Apple didn't over a tower computer any longer only having the small desk top trash can design. My PCs are user upgradable was another main reason for switching to PCs along with 1/2 the costs.
What exactly is the issue with floating elements lenses? Is it just a lower hit rate, or how do you notice a problem there? Want to adapt the 50mm Lux and 90mm Cron on the Z8
Love your review very much. I almost pause the video and place the order for the adapter. Unfortunately you mention that Floating Element lens dies not work. I have only FLE lenses. Both are Leica Summilux 50mm and 35mm f1.4 FLE. Have you tested the adapter with your FLE lens? What is the result? Is it in the range of accepted quality? Or it is totally does not work. I would appreciate for you advice.
the only reason to use M glass on ZF is a design(including size). f1.8s are better than apo lenses, and f1.2s are better than lux lenses. + almost 1/4 price
The Nikon Z mount is the legos of the camera industry. So many cool adapters to play with. Great video brother!

PC in this case means any windows laptop too. There's one issue only with an update app: it only recognises older usb 2 for some reason.

Thank you for this review! I would like to try the Techart Sony E adapter and see how well is works with a Helios 44-2 😃
I got a pc for editing and gaming. Best of both worlds.

95% hit rate on 50 lux is incredible wide open. The rendering on zf is surprisingly beautiful. I’m impressed. The portraits are really well done.
¿San Antonio? 😳 si que tenía tiempo sin pasar por aquí. Un abrazo a toda la comunidad.

I’m not sure the science behind it, but I just know it gives the adapter trouble.
I got the Zf I really need to go shopping for some Leica glass to try, so far I only have native z glass
Great video and I totally agree with your experience!!!

I don’t know if I can recommend this adapter for FLE lenses, it hunts significantly more. I only tried the 50 Summilux CF and it struggled.
Thank you..
How's the adapter with battery life? When I had the megadap sony to z, it was draining the battery fast, even when the camera was turned off.
Thank you for your review. Please can you tell if the M Lens need to be "chipped" to work with the Techart Z-M adapter? Thank you
Any M lens will work, no need for 6 bit coding.
@@ABarrera "work" ... as in green focus confirmation box shows up despite lenses not being chipped, right?
Thank you for replying re non chipped lens

You’re forgetting all the interesting Voigtlander formulations that Nikon don’t have an equivalent for.
@@albedo0point39 Indeed. But voigtlander provides nikon z mount. Leica don’t.
@@표백 only for a handful of designs. The 28mm f2 Ultron I use with an adapter doesn’t have a Z model, and Nikon has no Z 28mm f2 either.
