You know, I just realized something. Joining the Army isn't going to be half as fun as I thought it would be with Nikko living the civilian life. 😢
Nope I am the army party 😎
@@nikkoortiz wait what are all the schools you did? Can you cover the army dog training school?
Edit: also love you and your energy
@@dingodingus2927 he did Ranger school and a sniper course
@@Chris09978 he’s done air assault as well
@@Chris09978 Dayummmmmm
Can you imagine the passion he brings to the students?
Would love to see you reacting to the Australian Jungle warfare training or any other Australian Defence Force exercise, love the content, keep it up 👍
Always enjoy these videos Nikko - always so informative and love when you tell us about your personal experiences!! 🔥
So true!! 🙌
yep hi brat
Thanks army brat? What has been your favorite story that I shared?
Surviving the cut episodes
@@nikkoortiz the one about remembering your social security number
The Australian Army carries the AUG which is a sub machine gun. They trained us in jungle warefare in East Timor.
Actually their are different AUG variants! But that sounds like some fun training!
The Aus army uses the f88 austaryer which is a rifle
@@riverpeters8137 agreed. The F88 Austeyr is classified as an assault rifle (fires 5.56 rounds)
@@riverpeters8137 the newest is F88SA2 Austeyr weighs about 4.8kg with a 30 round mag
Most augs are 5.56
I was stationed in Panama in the mid 80s. we aggressed every damn unit that came through Jungle school when it was at Ft. Sherman. Good times.
That’s so badass! Favorite memory?
Hit that back in 84 getting ready to go to Operation Big Pines. Black Palm and slick rocks for days.
Love your stuff dude! It helped inspire me to join the army, thanks for all you do!
Preach it. The closer to nekkid you are in those sleeping systems, the warmer you get. I learned that as a kid before the military. Lifechanger.
I was at Schofield for 3 years, never went to jungle warfare school, I did go to Australian Jungle Warfare School when my unit went to Australia. It was really awesome training with the Aussies and Kiwis. I learned a lot and it was sick. Jungle school is awesome everyone should at least try to drop a 4187 and request to go there. And if you’re already at Schofield or Wheeler then ask your command. One thing I wish I did more when I was in was ask to go to more schools.
i’m considering joining the navy! watching your videos helps bring insight to all the branches, thank you!
Nice!! Make sure you get the job you want!
@@nikkoortiz yes for sure!
🏳🌈?
@Questionable potato lol… I think there’s a drag queen school in the navy… 😂
The encryption thing was actually really cool thanks for showing us that!
I gotchu Anthony! Was that your favorite part of the vid?
Can you make a video about Army infantry training and best tips prepare for it and advise on what you wish you did when you went through it?
Appreciate you, keep making great content!
The Alice pack and gear was standard issue for every soldier when I was in. Brought back memories seeing it again.
Y’all were so lucky like we get issues shit plastic gear now!
Same for me
I learned ALOT watching this 🤯
I learned that the school would suck to go to 😂
I wasn't issued a Woobie so I bought my own and im glad I did because im keeping it forever
I went through it when it when it was in Panama. Yes I am old!
Nikko brother brother!! Too late I’m in my backyard training right now!! Thanks for the video and good job mr editor ❤
🙌🙌
Andilynn brother brother sister brother thank you! What gear was your favorite?
I been out for over 30 years and I have woobie in go bag, another one in my truck, best blanket for keeping warm ever!
There was big fat rain, little drizzling rain, rain that came in sideways, and even rain that seemed to come straight up from underneath.
Business Insider needs Nikko. Facts. 🤘
Got to go through Jungle School when 25th sent all their 3rd brigade through. When they wanted everyone to wear the old jungle tab. Rains just about every day.
If the school is also known as JTOC( Jungle Training Operation Course )it was the dampest, bug-bitten, trench footed, and sunburned I have ever been. Nothing like 100° Temps and 101° humidity. But I earned my"Banana Boat Patch", even though as a Marine unit we were not allowed to wear it. Fort Sherman was ok base but the gem was swimming in Panama Canal, and seeing the (Love Boat) cruise ships go by
Went through the Green Heel 4 times with the 82nd and 101st twice each and also during both seasons. The pre-Just Cause course was a lot harder than the post Just Cause era.
Thanks brother brother for the post and the laughs, definitely needed this after school, Nikko you're amazing keep up the great work❤😂
Can never have too many laughs 😂
@@nikkoortizshorts ikr 😄😂
Thanks sniper! What did you like most about the vid?!
I vote for Nikko to do a business insider piece. Bring the rage my boi💙
8:15 I got that same belt for when we suit up in chem gear. its so much more comfortable than having all that weight on your belt the shoulder straps disperse the weight perfectly.
Nikko love these vids army jungle school looks pretty cool
Yeah I wish I coulda went to the training!
Love my woobie. Still have it and bring it to my deer stand for Oct / Nov. deer camp in Northern MI.
Even knew my Army brother who had his sewn in his woobie into his rain jacket by a Korean tailor for $15 back in the day.
Can't believe they still give them out.
Now if they can bring back freeze dried peaches in MREs.... so good.
Number #1 school....Airborne School at Ft. Benning !!!
Sawdust pits, uphill runs, airborne shuffle, and practice jumps from the towers....
Good times.
AATW !!!!
had a few buddies I served with that went through jungle school down in panama. They said it was no joke!
I would love to see you do more survival/ education vids. And I agree with Micc about loving the stories that accompany the education
11:21 this why this channel is dope. Learning something new. Gonna let my boys know about this
If you could only go to 1 Military School what would it be?
i went to oak ridge military academy 7-10 grade. that was enough!!! 😅😅😅
Dis nuts
Ranger School
Ranger think it be a cool experience
Probably I the Canadian Navy Cadets.. or mountaineers
Thx for always interacting w us. we appreciate you! ❤
He’s the best ❤️
You know I gotchu gurl!
You should do a tutorial on how to correctly apply face camouflage. I’d watch it!
I liked my Alice pack so much I bought an extra one and a frame from a pawn shop outside Ft Bragg them took it across the street to General Jackson's and got extra pouches sewn onto it.
Still have it in my garage 17 years later
Good old Fayette-Nam placed has changed so much; when you used to have to move and cover just to go from bar to bar on Hay Street.
Pathfinder was dope but jumpmaster was just stressful
just learned a new thing! that was so interesting, thank you for your reaction ❤️ waiting to see you break down more survival gear and tips!
More cool training and reactions to come!
@@nikkoortiz yeeep looking forward to them!!
13:15 a leatherman multi-tool is SOOOO useful ..better than a knife or swiss army knife
Another day, another amazing video.
My aunt served in the army and when I was a kid she'd always have my bed set up with her Woobie when I'd stay the night, fast forward to when I got my first car she told me to come over for a visit and on that day I was bestowed my own Woobie because as she said "you never know where you might be stuck on side the road wishing you had something warm!", Still got it in the trunk to this day.
Marine corps jungle leaders course was badass, best course I’ve ever done
Nikko. You should do a video and recommend some gear that civilians would have access to. Things that would be good to keep on your person or in your vehicle at all times like good self defense gear and emergency gear.
Woobie is love...Woobie is life... All hail the woobie!!!!!
Love you Nikko ❤😂
Thanks sweepers! What did you like about the video,
3:41 It's specifically Gigli wire- used in medicine (human & animal), and also wilderness... Quite useful to have around
Woobie is still in my possession, been out 2 years. I use it on shift. I’m a firefighter and it is all I need for sleep. Woobie is life.
I'd love to do it, even if to just say I tried, and I'm just a USAF mechanic. I know it would be miserable, but it would be fantastic experience. You never know where you'll end up.
Cool vid nikko love you your the best
🙌
You the best!!! What did you think was the coolest part of gear?
Prob the propeller
It was also funny when you were talking about the MRE
I’m 13 and bought a K-Bar and love it.
Bro the woohie😍😍😍 the woobie!!! I would die just to sleep in one again for 1 minute
I still use my woobie all the time in my daily life. My kids love it too. In fact I need to get them one from a surplus store.
As an MP i haven’t been to the field alot but onces i have its been like 3-5 days ill literally bring absolute bare minimum. Ive also slept in full uniform, boots, kit and all in my sleeping bag, no issues😂 wake up ready to go immediately 😌 just been easier for ME and haven’t had any issues personally.
Definitely going to join the Army when I'm older!
Yo I was stationed on Schofield barracks from 2009-2017. It was pretty cool seeing them being this school here and then hearing the old timers talk about jungle school back in the day and comparing them
I'm guessing the old timers went through school at Ft Sherman in Panama. I lived across the canal from there (Ft Clayton) in the early 80's. I used to date a girl that was stationed at Schofield in the early 90's. She was a bit wild.
2 weeks northern Okinawa with the Marines. Fun times ugh.
Absolutely tips and gear
I’ve had my woobie for about 15 years. The best thing the military ever invented!!!!!!!!!
Went to jungle expert training at Ft Sherman Panama
Just got out the dentist 😢 so this made by pain go away :)
Dentist is the worst!
Omg I HATE the dentist I hope my video made your day better!
@@nikkoortiz it did🥲
I use my dad's woobie, who had it passed on to him from a Vietnam vet when my dad was going in during desert storm. It's just green now
Watch nikko actually land something with business insider. That’d be dope!
Omg I wish that would be SICK 😂
The good ol Wahiawa river you walk in during jungle school. The nastiest river you’ll ever walk through in your life.
I wager the Shagris in Panama might be rougher. One word; Caymens on one side and Hammer heads at the mouth.
As an 11C stationed in Schofield every FTX was a unique experience 😂 EIB was the best 🎉
My psg always says he has the tabs that no one wants lol (jungle and arctic )
Straight facts about the sleeping bag 82nd
Did it in Panama at Fort Sherman now that was jungle training.
Woobie is everything!
For real
They are absolute life 😂
Nikko, as a Brazilian i would like you react some videos about brazilian army, in our jungle training! Brazil love your vídeos ma man, 👊🏽👊🏽
Hell yeah! I know the Army trained with Brazil
7:20 thank you for telling me that shit because I'm at ntc just before going into the box and I didn't know that shit
French foreign legion jungle school. That one will mess you up.
Definitely. Recently went there
i would love to do it. Sounds like a place to show what your worth and face the elements. There's not much that scares me bro.
Ah Jungle School, attended the original one in Panama JOTC (Jungle Operations Training Center) awesome training......
do not do this bro! scam!
I’m so Jealous that’s so dope!
8:55 „READY TO GO!!!“ LMAO!!!!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Matt Best has a song about the woobie. LOL.
I was there when Hawaii had the false missile alarm . Fun school.
My most memorable woobie moment...
We had just finished a field exercise and had everything packed up, we were just waiting for our turn to roll out. It was raining and cold so my buddy and I dipped under a trailer. I wrapped myself in my woobie and smoked a cigarette... Shit was nice.
Jungle warfare spoopy!
Do a collab with Shift Fire!..Please Nikko
Maybe in the future it’s a possibility!
@@nikkoortiz let's go!
There’s a whole documentary for jungle school pretty dope honestly

Hey Nikko, What do you think about military police. Or should I go infantry even though there is no war going on for us right now because Im having trouble with choosing between 11b or 31b I know cav scouts are shit but I do want to reclass to 35l (counterintelligence agent) in either the two mos. HELP ME HERE.😢
Man watching this stuff makes me feel old, GPS we had a compass. I was issued the ALICE Packs and a hammock WTF.
Marines either did it different or we got screwed lol
Also our JWTC is in Japan
You should deffo have a look at the British jungle training
Pathfinder.
dude jetboils are sooo nice man, way better than a damn pocket rocket
I do indeed have a addiction to bags or anything that holds stuff.
Finally back to Vietnam!!!
Yesss
Exactly!!! That’s why I think going to this school woood be DOPE
Nikko please do a video on what's going on with ww3 getting closer I keep hearing about Putin having a warrant and north Korea getting volunteer soldiers and stuff I want to know what you think and if you think we should be getting ready for violence
Range videos niko!!!
They on the @nikkolive channel!
I absolutely love my woobie😂 army aint getting that back when i ETS 😂
As a backpacker and doing river trips a good one is putting a trash bag inside your dry bag then packing your shit in there
Yup!!! Any waterproof back is EXTREMELY useful!
AAAAAAMAZING
Hey @Nikko I just joined the Army
That guy was our platoon fister when I was in A-co 1-21
The Army Mountain Warfare School in Vermont. You should make a video on that since you were in the 10th MTN (south).
The woobie: every soldiers' first bedding in the barracks😂
To this day...i still have my woobie!!!
My dad stole his woobie when he retired, he still uses it along with his scratchy ass green blanket. I won’t lie, I’ve regularly taken both from him
woobie are so great i even bought the hoodie one
When I was born my dad wrapped me in his issued woobie, and over 2 decades later I still have them as an essential blanket, especially on cold nights.
