@@PeteThorn I always relate your channel to my bible of go to gear. Truly inspiring interview at Andertons, I foolishly put down my guitar few years back. I'm out later this month getting my gear back. Have my little Suhr savings fund for the future. Keep it real as always, and thankyou for all the information you've put out there
The NUX Cerberus is an amazing pedal and great value for money. Although I own 50+ different effects pedals, the Cerberus is my go-to pedal. I have added a cheap NUX AS-4 Amp simulator in the FX-loop of the Cerberus. This gives a really fat tone, lots of drive, and a simple two-band EQ. I highly recommend this combo.
The review that sealed the deal, i bought the pedal, and I'm very happy with it. All thanks to you Pete! You're an inspiration. Love from the Philippines!!💯
Pete, you do the best demos and make the most informative videos on all of RUclips. I learn so much every time i watch one of your videos. They are absolutely awesome. You are also one of the best musicians I have seen. just exceptional work you do.
Another great review and demo by Mr. Thorn. It was his demo of the NuX Atlantic reverb/delay that helped me make up my mind, and I purchased it. Used it at band practice last night and love it. I was looking at the NuX (New Ex) web site where one of the engineer/designers was explaining the Optima Air Acoustic simulator. The first I ever heard of IR processing. So it seems like you could get an IR sample of your acoustic guitar and load it into the Cerberus, and have a great acoustic guitar patch at your beck and call. Wow. I'm 65 and playing catch-up when it comes to effects guitar effects and technology. Pete's RUclips channel is one of my main sources of guitar-related information. Well done!
Dear Pete I finally got my Cerberus, and I just love it ! It fits in a old laptop bag , and I also bought a Nux compressor Sculpture, and I have it first in chain. I've been experimenting using the 4 cable method with my SY-1 and boss PS-6 Harmoniser ! Makes a hell of a difference going stereo ! Thanks for all your help, and the great tips!! You Rock !🎸💯🎶✌🏿🙏🏿👍🏾🇨🇭🍻 Regards Paul
Its interesting after binging on all your pedal demos i noticed that you always managed to get the most out of the product and in some way or another it still sounds like you.
hi Pete, since Guitcon i can see/hear you going for different stuff, especially in the lead parts. It's very cool watching someone with as much experience as you learning from other players and integrating it into your style.
Great demo! Would love to hear more like this! Reminds me of some of the amazing guitar work guys like Lukather & Landau were doing with pop rock acts such as Richard Marx & Chicago back in the day.
I like this unit how the overdrive/boost section is separate from the stereo fx. So, it is very much like a pedalboard in a single unit. Allowing you to patch it how you want to use it. The IR thing is cool. I use a single head as a master, fx send from amp drives the input of stereo fx chain. Left fx output goes back to the fx return on the main amp and use the right output into another amp. Alternative: I use Two Notes Torpedo Captor 8 (reactive load) speaker sim out for the main amp and use a Hughes and Kettner Red Box Classic for the 2nd output. (Volume is lower than Two Notes Torpedo Captor 8, have to adjust gain at mixer) Excellent video of this NU-X Cerebus!
Pretty awesome review. Just bought one after stumbling upon this video and for my use, it is just perfect. Sounds awesome even in front of Micro-Cube :D
I am so jealous of that brown P90 Telecaster MacMull and I'm also pissed that I'll never be able to afford one ....God I want that guitar!!! Ugh ! KILLIN ME!
Great demo, awesome playing. Have this thing for a couple years and it's so much bang for the buck. Via the NUX software you can now replace one of the reverb presets with a new shimmer reverb, which is one of the best i ever heard. It doesn't modulate the pitch like some ... contenders, just great.
Pete, your videos and playing are incredible. Between the Nux Cerberus, the Nux Solid Studio, and the Atomic AmpliFIRE, which would you deem most essential or useful? Are they comparable? I'm looking at these as my primary along with a power amp.
You probably found the answer by now, but judging from the videos i've been watching lately, if you want to menu dive on the editor, the AmpliFIRE seems like the most fully fledged solution because it has amp and cab sims, plus tons of effects
Damn...Mr. PT...! You are playing the hell out of a phethora of fantastic signiture Suhrs for sure..! Ive been subscribed for years and have always enjoyed your inspirational playing I believe I speak for many and really enjoy your channel...! All the best and continued success..! JG
I was waiting for Kenny Loggins vocal to come in.... epic 80's vibe. Loved the look to camera / pinch harmonic... hilarious. Well done Pete. 🔮. Wow, cab sims built in as well... wow, game changer!
ive got 2 of the nux overdrive pedals on my board, underrated, one as a boost, 1 as a drive, really good and probably the cheapest pedals out there, and really good
I use this with my pedal steel guitar, and I’m thrilled with it. The only effect I wish could have worked a little bit better for it is the phaser. It’s a little bit over the top/too brutal for my taste. Other than that I love it! Great video, by the way!
One of these days, the world will wake up from their slumber, and say, “ Pete Thorn is truly amazing!” And we here will all smile, and say, “duh......”
I get the impression that this probably the best value for money multi-effects unit. But I wonder how it compares with units that are a bit more expensive like the Boss ME80 or the Tech21 Flyrig. Are the work a couple of hundred dollars more for. What do they have that this lacks?
I am interested in this unit. it is small and has midi which I need to switch patches from my midi file player. What I need to know is does it do the Hank Marvin thing where the echo has 2 heads running, creating more complex effects.
Street price of a Helix LT is a grand. And of this thing? $300. Nu>X is a mashup of French and Chinese. Good stuff. Amazing price. With your favorite amp head, this is a serious fly rig.
Ahhh I knew their stuff was made in China but I couldn't figure out why so many French and Italian guys use Nux stuff. So it's what, part-ownership in France or something?
Scenario question: If someone wanted to use a "fly rig" style set up and wanted to take one guitar and one "box" (this, Tech 21 Fly Rig, other multi-FX pedal, etc) and that is it (no amp), would this be the best option or is there another? The idea being plug into the PA and go. Let's set the price point at around $200-400 for the "box". No heavy gigging or traveling btw. Maybe a once a month and at times twice a month local (in state) gig. Thanks in advance for any advice. I can't find anyone other than you who would possibly have a first hand knowledge of the equipment and technology, as well as its practical applications available for such a scenario.
Hey Pete, great playing as usual... So ive got a question.. Can you turn the reverb on or off without using the control pedal? And once it is on via the control pedal will it stay on if you change the control to boost mode and use the boost for solos and still have the reverb on? Or do you have to choose one or the other? Ty...
Pete, cool unit and great demo as usual. A question about the song though: Is it in C Mixolydian? I ask because it appears you're playing G Major which would not be in C Mix (F Major). Just trying to educate myself a bit on song composition. Such a road-block for me. Thanks!
+Juan Carlos Granados have not tried Red Truck- Headrush Obviously having the amp models, expression pedal, touchscreen etc. is a much deeper unit but they were also in very different price points. So sort of apples and oranges there
Pete Thorn Thank you very much for your kind answer. By the way the PT100 sounds incredible, and so your signature guitar, but I can't foom myself, 70% of your great tone and sound, comes from your fingers and feeling. The music you compose for your demos rocks. Thanks all the things you teach us every week.
I believe one of the best RUclips channels for guitar players out there.
Thank you lee

does this fx input +two out puts can act as stereo send return?? im looking to hook up my h9 in stereo

True musicianship! And not a thing wrong with the 80's guitar sounds!
It was the guitar decade indeed.
I love this unit. I have my main pedal board, and this working together.
It sounds really Awesome but again, it doesn't matter what you use, you always sound awesome Pete !!!

I've noticed the same thing. I'd say it's the mark of a great player :-)
Pete, you're a nice guy and a very, very skilled and tasty player and musician, always a pleasure to listen to your music.
Such a talented player. This demo song you quickly cobbled together rivals most professionally released music you'd hear on Spotify, iTunes, etc.
Thank u!
Enjoyed the 80's sounds and the tune, and it seems like Pete had a lot of fun making this one.
Some ferocious monster tone with an playing with that EVH🤘 Great demo!
Great playing makes everything better. Nice demo.

Gold as always sir! That last solo was just gorgeous.
you make it sound great, this is the ways i would use it also, what a Swiss army knife of effects.
That tune is amazing Pete!!!!!!!!
Superb demo yet again, nicely done Pete.

Great video and great playing Pete. I've watched this many times.

Great demo, sounds like the theme to the best show from the 90s.
awesome jam and pedal board.
WOW. What a great tune. Serious soloing!!! That song is a keeper! Loved the harmonic facial expression!!! The unit sounds great

Pete, thank you for your time and efforts. Great stuff!
nice tone
Can I hook the usb up to my I-phone call japan and use the return delay when received via skype and route it towards a DAW track of my choice?

😉
do companies ask for their equip back ? or do you have a mountain of effect pedals ?
Im guessing that since your comment didn’t get a reply, he didn’t keep it lol
@Pat Howell I think that's fair, if Rob shoots and edits his own video, to be fair.
1:01 the face you make when you know you hit a killer tone 😂
Ain’t!!

Brilliant review as always - of course helps if you can play like Pete thorn 🇮🇪👍

Suhr guitar www.suhr.com/

Thank you for your always "high-class" demos. Very helpful :-)

Which one do you think is better? Carl martin quattro or nux cerberus
Killer demo as always!

Pete is perhaps the bestest! of all demo-istists
Hey Pete, great review. Couple questions: does this unit accept a line-level input? Also, is the cab-sim output on output2 at line-level?
Thanks for another great review
Great video and huge talent, as known. "Because" of you, Pete, i ordered one Cerberus ! Waiting for it now ......... I will send my feedback soon. :)
