Stunning magical footage! It’s amazing. The fact that all these people are dead and at the time of filming they couldn’t fathom even remotely the idea that 100 years later people would be able to see them on little screens in their homes. It’s truly astonishing.

From the music to progressive ideals on relationships, weather that be with races or genders or identity ect. It wasn’t perfect but the 20s and 60s helped us progress wildly. What an amazing use of technology, thank you so much. Imagine telling someone in 1920 that they could see with their eyes an event from 1818. It would be insane. Yet, here we are 102 years later doing pretty much that.

Those spans of 102 years saw vastly different levels of progression. We, in 2022, are seeing into an era which is FAR more different from ours than what the 1920 people would see if they could watch videos from 1818. It's wild to think about...

1:52 It's very interesting to see the design philosophy behind these old concepts. You can tell we didn't just go from horse and carriage to a modern vehicle. You can tell there was still this idea of a luxury in transportation just by looking at the back passenger seats, very reminiscent of horse and carriage, from the upholstery to the relatively lifted seating position compared to the driver. It's almost as if though the horse was replaced with a steel contraption but the carriage remained all the same.

Amazing footage, incredible to think that this was 100 years ago and everything looked clean, modern and organised - the streets looked very civilised even with so much traffic - barely a honk of a horn! Also, the people were so well dressed, and there was no sign of any obesity or any tattoos - wish I could transport myself back to then.

I've always been amazed by something so mechanical, turning on a reel or spinning on a platter, that could be turned into lines of code and deliver an exceptionable result. Yes it's not the same as as 35mm for depth or the warm sound of vinyl. However I think the imperfections we experience with digitization are no different than the ones in past formats, such as cost, space and quality. This, what your doing in this demonstration, and once the process is perfected so people with talents such as yours is in my opinion at this very moment the next, great thing in A/V. Since your dealing with silent film (I think), if you storyboard all of it the final product will have a real time feel to it I think. You have done a lot of work on the audio insertion which I am willing to bet is tedious. It's like making a great music video and having the frame land right on the beat for effect for example I started with a razor blade, a splicing block and tape and look how far production has gone since my time. Keep it up, because period pieces need this kind of stock that can be harvested from archives to cut production cost let alone giving old archive footage a facelift. Thanks for your work.
