As many people have pointed out, the Sawblades are also a great tool for P-2.
The first room can be setup to deal major damage to the Cerberi. You can also shoot a shotgun core and detonate it with the Malicious Railcannon to cause a "Nuke", dealing large AoE damage.
The Sawblade is also effective at melting the Insurrectionist's health as you can prematurely set up a trap before they spawn. You can also coax one of the Insurrectionists into the side areas, which kills them instantly.
And of course, the Sawblade can be used (alongside a railcoin or cannonball + Railcannon shot) to damage Sisyphus Prime quickly.
These weren't included simply because I do not use the Sawblade launcher and as such, forgot to try it out. However, the level is still entirely doable without the Sawblade with plentiful amounts of time remaining. Thanks for watching.

The destroy and begone moves are annyoing because the voicelines for them happen basically after the attack is halfway done, so you can't really react to it by voicelines from sisyphus, same sort of problem with the phase transition voiceline deleting other voicelines during it.

If dealing enough damage isn't your problem against sisyphus, then try the green railcannon for that extra bit of health. He is almost always up in your face, so you can benefit from the healing a lot better than most other bosses/enemies. Saved me a ton of times when going for the p rank.

  • @BlueAura
    @BlueAura Год назад +11

Great guide, I ran things a little bit differently so if anyone wants any additional strategies I hope the below may help you. Best of luck!
    - In the beginning I opt to start the fight by firing an alternate piercer shot and railcannon through every Cerberi in the left/right corner, this makes sure that they all take damage and puts the enemies in the enraged state for slightly less time since they're all still alive at this point. Shooting a cannonball and revolver shot at one of the enemies will instantly kill it so it's a slightly better strategy overall than in the video. I'd also recommend using overpumped explosions tied with dash invincibility to quickly take out the ferryman if you're confident with the technique in addition to using the railcannon like the guide mentions.
    - Make sure to create a trap for the first sisyphean insurrectionist room before entering. The first one will always spawn on the light that's cast onto the ground and if you're slightly off you can get the enemy to walk into it. A Nailbomb will deal a lot more damage than a saw trap for what it's worth, the former removing about 90% of the first enemy's HP so you are largely only fighting one sisyphean insurrectionist and can minimize losing style by taking damage.
    - In the 2nd flesh tunnel room the two sentries can be killed instantly slightly earlier if you fully charge a shotgun core and shoot it with a malicious railcanon. The knockback will send them off the platforms and to their deaths.

Nice guide! Although, instead of cannonball + railcannon as soon as you can attack sisyphus, i'd suggest doing the 3 ultraricochet thing, where you walk back, toss a coin, walk forward, toss another coin then shoot so that it hits him 3 times.
Basically as soon as i walk in i use a slab revover charge + 3 hit railcannon, then i just spam shotgun and knuckleblaster. it gets him to half hp, and all before he can even attack!

Technically you could do the weird railcoinpunch tech to shave off a massive chunk as well, idk how much hp sisyphus has but the combo does 60 and minos has 130 hp for example. Basically you first throw a coin when walking backwards, then one through the enemy and shoot it with the railgun, then during the hitstop punch the coin that you first threw, and then you can also coinadd ontop of that to get the 60 dmg.

I have found a much more efficient method to clear the platforms room. It is...
    Stand still.
Chances are, the two virtues will instantly die to either a Maurice barrage or get knocked back into the wall. Just be ready for the impending Sentry shot by performing a chargeback.
Another strategy can be employed in the next room. By detonating a core nuke around the middle of the room. Both sentries get launched into the air and instantly die, with a bonus of moderatley damaging the two Cerberi.

A few things that can improve the run (I will be editing with more as I go)
-In general using sawblades over nails worked better for me and also is vital for a very quick method to kill the flesh panopticon which I will discuss further down
-In the Weezer room, using a core nuke (hit a core eject with a malicious railcannon) is a VERY good way to start, because it leaves all 4 cerberi at very low health. After that, they are just one big hit away from death, so if you time a big attack (overpumped shotgun, rocket launcher, etc) correctly, you can immediately kill 2 or more cerberi (and of course all the remaining cerberi are left very close to death from the core nuke). This makes the cerberi trivial to deal with. Edit: I find that after a core nuke and saws, using the sharpshooter against the wall should finish off every cerberus
-In the Dual Insurrectionost encounter, once you enter the room, you can immediately rocket ride over the wall. This will cause the second insurrectionist to land in the red fluid, instakilling it and giving you +Scrongled (yes this is real, look it up in the wiki or try it yourself) leaving you with only 1 insurrectionist to deal with
(you _might_ be able to do this with the first as well if youre quick, but i havent been able to do that. in theory though, it would instantly end the encounter) IMPORTANT EDIT: I found a consistent way to do this but its hard to explain. once you enter the room, go to the corner and do a slam storage into a dive. aim right for the edge of the wall next to the red liquid. you will go so fast that you skip the trigger to spawn the insurrectionists. then, while staying above the liquid, move in the direction toward the enterance. this spawns the insurrectionists, and since you're already ove the liquid, both are instakilled, clearing the room immediately.
-For the Flesh Panopticon, you can easily and _very_ quickly kill it by putting you put your magnets on the panopticon, firing all your sawblades at it (especially your overheated blade), and then repeatedly projectile boosting until sisyphus comes out

    • @plosonen

0:48 I like to freeze three rockets at the gate where it doesn't trigger the spawns, then use the Slab Sharpshooter at the Cerberus at the furthest corner, as it will ricochet off them constantly, and the rockets will explode into red explosions which instakills them all most of the time.

when the panopticon is destroyed set up a sawcon with magnets on 2 sides snd an overheat nailbomb on a magnet in front of him, then throw a couple of coins and press escape. fire the electric railcannon into the coins behind him and throw more coins into the beam (ideally making an 8x ultraricoshot). this basically puts him into his second phase. after that just use other forms of good damage.

  • @bruhmomentlol715
    @bruhmomentlol715 Год назад

some things to point out is that you can actually kill the 4 cerbs faster by nuking them (shotgun grenade + malicious railcannon) and then overpump charge them, should be around 1 or two shots depending on there they move. you dont always need to srs cannon + railcannon. you can just shoot it the cannonball, whiplash it, then parry, then you can do a little bit more damage to kill it quickly. you can also do a lot more damage to sisyphus by rail coining. when stood still, move forward, throw coin, then move backward, then use the sniper through sisyphus so that it hits the first coin, then throw more coins towards sisyphus. this should do roughly half of his 1st stage health if done right. people also mention the sawblades, which is a good choice but if a beginner cant get enough style points by the time they get to the bossfight, then they wont be able to get P rank since the sawblades dont give that much style.

  • @lightkirby1666

this js a pretty good video, but there are a few more tips i might add
if you rocket ride above one of the death pits on the sides before the insurrectionists, you can lead one into jumping down and dying instantly, if you’re fast enough you can kill both.
in the room you unlock with the blue skull, if you prepare an overpump with a shotgun, you can use it to deflect malicious face bullets back, possibly instant killing the virtues, and saving a railcannon shot.

i typically use a sawtrap in the first room as soon as the ferryman spawns since it's really effective against him. empty out the attractor sawblade launcher and then shoot a single overheated one, the damage from those combined with 2 to 3 ricoshots should kill the ferryman.
also a sawtrap in the room right after, if positioned right, is a great way to get the swordsmachine down to its second phase and severely deplete the health of the sentries. it's a bit inconsistent for me but usually the sawblades kill one sentry and then just shotgun swapping a little bit typically finishes off the swordsmachine and the other sentry.
any time the mindflayers shoot projectiles at you, try to parry the closest one in the group of 5 and then immediately dash through the rest so you get a full heal without taking excess damage. if you're able to, try to parry the projectiles into other enemies as well for some good damage.
for the dual mindflayers room, i've found that a good strategy is hitting the sentry with a fully charged shot from the slab piercer and then immediately shooting it with the electric railcannon, which kills it. then setting up yet another sawblade trap to deal a good chunk of damage to the swordsmachines, before using the typical strategy of shotgun swapping and projectile boosting to kill them. hopefully the railcannon will have recharged by the next wave, because using a shot from it to instantly knock off one of the virtues is super useful.
that's about as far as i usually get in my p-rank attempts before dying.

p-2 took me around 4 hours to learn, and 1 week to p-rank
overall, i think it's a really good challenge to the wackos who don't give a shit about dying to mindflayers and maurices all the time.
the first really difficult part is the double mindflayer, double maurice and double virtue since your attention needs to be diverted to the virtues first, but if you don't notice the maurices and mindflayers blasting your ass with projectiles, you die !
(also, stay on the ground for the first part of the room, it'll make the mindflayers projectiles and melee attacks useless)
the double insurrectionist is pretty easy, you can just throw down a sawblade trap with an overheat to set them on fire, and you kinda just win if you know how to fight insurrectionists, or just scrongle them if you feel like being funny
the "blood room" is where it kinda gets funky, you first off need to core nuke so that the maurices have a 50% chance of fucking killing themselves (time it so that the projectiles are already flying toward you but too far away to hit you but also close enough to the virtues so that they get flung into the wall and die), and the sentry you can just chargeback, parry, or just kill normally it doesn't really matter
the second portion of the blood room is pretty easy, if the maurice dies (core snipe is my preferred method), the sentries die of flying into the fucking ceiling and you just have to kill 2 cerberi which are kinda easy since if 1 dies, there's a good chance the second one will kamikaze into the floor and well, die
the big room is where the problems usually appear for other people, though not for me oddly enough
i generally start off by either healing from the strays or saw trapping the middle so the swordsmachines and ferryman take damage while simultaneously keeping the stray off the ground using rockets, projectile boosts and other things
once they die after blowing them up, the sentry part begins, which is where i die sometimes
you start off by attempting to murder one of the 4 sentries, just ignore the hideous mass, if you move between sentries often you won't get blasted, but you might get hooked so watch out for that annoying ass grappling hook thing
if 2 sentries are about to activate, just use a railcannon shot (if available) and get 2 of them at once, though it's pretty good to learn the timing to out of sentry shots
the sentries do the big die, and the virtues spawn, this part is the easiest since the cerberi at the bottom don't do jack shit to you, so just focus on the virtues for now
i whiplash onto one of the side virtues, and align a railcannon shot to murder 2 of them at once and shotgun swap the 3rd one, at this point you can probably destroy the hideous mass idol and start killing it which is pretty easy
just sawtrap the middle and the cerberi might die too, though i recommend throwing in a bunch of rockets and shotgun boosts to make sure
    now it's
sisyphus, honestly this one sucks ass. half my fails came from this dude
the flesh panopticon is kinda standard, the only menacing attack is the yellow one but just move like a schizo and throw in the occasional rocket ride and you should be fine i guess
you wait long enough, sisyphus kills the panopticon and you get a ton of time to prepare in shredding his hp
you sawtrap, and railcoin sisyphus the instant you skip/he finishes talking
if you feel like it, start just blasting him with what you got, cause you know damn well there probably isn't a better option
the ways to counter his attacks are, complicated, slightly?
for "You can't escape!", you slide in a circle for the first 2, dash out of the 3rd, and jump, parry and dash (parry and dash at the same time)
for "Begone!" just dash to the side, its really easy with stamina but you will suffer damage if you have none
for "Destroy!" i don't really know, i just like to out of it since the parry timing is confusing to me, though i did see another comment where there's 2 instances where you can parry it.
for "This will hurt", it's the simplest. just parry it and he'll fuck off for a bit
there are 3 attacks that aren't named, the roundhouse kick is parryable but i don't recommend it since you can't really tell if it's gonna happen unless you're spacially aware or you have functioning ears
the ground slam attack is really easy to tell because it's an obvious sound, just dash when you hear it (slight delay between sound and dash)
and the overhead smack, that one you kinda just dash out of, or even slide if you're lucky
the best way to learn p-2 is to play it, not to look at youtube comments. but it certainly does help

For the first room, you can actually instakill 2 Cerberi instead of just 1. Dash jump to the side of one of them, throw a coin upward and another through the Cerberus, and then fire the railcannon at the second coin through the Cerberus. If you get it right, you should kill two or at least one of them instantly. If that doesn't happen, they'll both die in a projectile boost or two anyway.
Edit: Tried to P rank a bit more today (GOT TO SISPYHUS I'M GONNA DO IT), and after a bit of testing the cannonball technique might be better in general. If you spread out your damage enough, fighting the ferryman is much easier. If you're looking to do it as quick as possible, you should go for the double kill, but in general you might want to use the cannonball and damage spread.
Oh, also, I've learned that on 2:22 (the room with the two mindflayer idols), a simple parry of one of the Mindflayer projectile will down a Swordsmachine and give you some HP. This should make the beginning much easier.

  • @1deghost

Really good, detailed guide with instersting strategies. However, there are also some detailes that can be added:
Being able to parry is gonna make the fight infinately easier too, since not only it heals you and deals a lot of damage, it also cancels some of the attacks. For example the one where he says "This will hurt" you can just approach him and when his eye flash yellow, you can melee him and it will cancel the whole attack (especially useful for second phase where his stamina is infinite and gives a lot of time to damage him). Another example which is really easy to do is the one where he says "You can't escape" where you can spam slide in the same direction away from him, and once he does the final stomp, you can easily parry and shotgun swap him (the stomp will not damage you if you parry)
Also important to always stay on the ground, as Sisyphus can easily combo you especially because you have less control in the air. And rather than constantly dashing, just spam slide as was said before, since it allows your movement to be less predictable, does not waste stamina and is approximately just as fast as dashing
Before the boss fight though, I would also like to mention how you can go behind railings into the blodd river, causing the insurectionists to fall down there and even give you extra style points as "scronggled"
I also presonally find it better to use sawblades for the blue nailgun because it allows you to create traps in arenas before enemies spawn and can secure an easy kill on 1 or even 2 swordmachines if you will also be able to finish them off while they are in their animation
