That part
They met in 2017 when Anderson was opening for Bruno on his 24k magic tour and became friends. This album organucally happened because of covid. They write, play all the instruments, produce and Bruno directs all the videos. Absolutely brilliant men!
Boosie Collins gave them the name Silk Sonic. They were able to come together and make this album because of Covid-19 and the canceling of all there live concerts. This was the first song they wrote together and it became a full album.

And the songs are really hard to sing like for example put on a smile because they didn't think they'd be able to perform it live because of covid. So they wanted the album to feel like their dream concert.
Not to mention they had few names thought of too before they Boosie Collins gave them the name silk sonic.

They came up with the idea of this song 5 years ago.. They finally got their calendars together just before the pandemic hit and flushed it out.. They worked on the rest of album seeing as their individual schedules were cancelled.

In the 70's 'singing group's wore these types of outfits, also many musicians smoked on stage, and most songs had sections that were 'talking' instead of singing.... So, they did an Excellent recreation of that era/style of music. Then added their own-twist 😁
