Very unbiased and detailed honest demonstration. Most sales guys would shy away and avoid talking about things they’re not fond of like the hood prop. You make a good point though, one less thing to be concerned with replacing. I’m sure mazda did the best they can to minimize the need to pop the hood for anything other than checkups and maintenance.
Thanks Jadon for the great overview! I'm getting this exact same trim and colour in a few weeks - can't wait! How do the napa leather seats compare to the 2021 model? I heard they were updated for 2022 - hoping they are a bit more comfy.
Glad you enjoyed Julia! So Mazda actually did make some refinements to the seating which visually you can see the difference, but of course the comfort on these are upgraded as well. I’d say definitely better than last years!
Nice review, not a huge fan of all the chrome up front and the wheels are kinda bland to me...if I buy a new CX-5 this year I think the 2.5 Turbo trim will be for me....waiting to see the CX-50 in person first tho!
I’m with you, however I believe that the cx-30 is supposed to be more of that overland capable vehicle hence the cladding and the higher ground clearance.
@@jadonatmazda Me too Jadon, those GT wheels look more interesting and have more depth to them but maybe these new Signature wheels are lighter or produce less drag. I'd be interested to see a weight comparison. Great review BTW!
Shame that you are forced into the bloated top trim, with a timebomb turbo, just to get body-colored cladding. The 2022 CX-5 regular Carbon Edition is the probably the best bang for the buck IMO.
no touchscreen is no Mazda for me. I buy Mazda again if they finally put touchscreen for their infotainment system. LEXUS had the same policy, buy they finally have moved away. All new NEXUS has large very high-end quality touchscreen infotaintment system
I wish the digital instrument cluster had the same digital read out as the cx30 does..also wish the center command buttons and turn knob for the screen was updated with same buttons as the cx30s
Looks like took the easy way on upgrade the vehicle without really adding anything. Still using a 6 speed while most using 8+ speed. Overall look worse than loafs years
I don't know where people got this idea that more transmission speeds is necessarily better. I'd rather have a reliable transmission than one with a gazillion speeds.
I don’t understand why on the steering wheel at 6 o’clock the pass through is covered by a black plastic piece..the other trims have a open 6 o clock pass through..confused

I loved the efficient presentation. Your commentary was succinct and well structured.
Thanks tommy!
Great overview of the 2022 CX-5. Nice, bright location. Good commentary. Loved it.
Glad you enjoyed!
I’m always going to be sold on a Mazda no matter what. But listening to you talk about it made me love it even more. Amazing salesman!
As a long time Mazda owner, I can confirm you get SUPER used to the control dial for the screen. I can like fly through all the settings now.
got mine 3 weeks ago and i’m actually glad it’s not touch.. my tesla screen is awesome but 2 days later it’s filled with finger prints all over
I’m not a Mazda user but it only took me 10 mins to get used to
I can't wait for your review on the upcoming CX-50!
I can’t wait either! Excited for the next phase of Mazda!
I'll echo TommyS - great review! (I've watched a bunch of them on the CX30 and 5 and I appreciate how concise you are with the breakdown)
Thanks for the positive feedback Jim!
What software do you edit your videos, your videos are on point! 💯💯💯💯

Great job on the review Jadon, following you now.
What a nice new wheel rims
Can you please let me know if the button for seat adjustment is metalic or black plastic?
So for the seating adjustment it is actually trimmed in aluminium!
That sunroof looks bigger than in the past! Finally!
Same size as last year's!
@@kingkrimson8771 you sure? This one looks twice as big. Old one was always the size of the mazda3's
@@Mkal1013 it's the wide angle of the camera causing distortion and making it look bigger than it is. You can see this stretching in other shots
@@soupnazi81 ah ok, that's gotta be it. They fooled me lol
@@Mkal1013 the newly released CX-50 built in Alabama looks to finally have a panoramic sunroof.
So, the fog lights are gone?
I really want to see a review for the Mazda CX 30 2022 model
Stay tuned coming soon!
Can you get premium sound in this model ? I was get this model if it comes with a bose sound system.
Yes! You get the Bose sound system in the premium and above trims.
They actually did make a fix to the transmission
Yes, they did! I didnt go in depth on that, but they are just making subtle improvents year on year! Just waiting on the new 8 speed now!
quality content man
Would live to have Mazda offer a black edition.
In my dream, i will buy this car.
Nice review, not a huge fan of all the chrome up front and the wheels are kinda bland to me...if I buy a new CX-5 this year I think the 2.5 Turbo trim will be for me....waiting to see the CX-50 in person first tho!
Me and you both! The cx50 should be in around mid march so lookout for that!
Looove Mazda suv 💕💕💕😍😍
LoVe it!
Waiting for Mazda to offer a hybrid
I hear the CX-50 will offer a hybrid powertrain further down the line🤭
I never like touch screen ...sorrty. My buddy with this Tesla omg. finger print galore.
They need to do what they did to this vehicles cladding to the cx-30 turbo signatures plastic.
I’m with you, however I believe that the cx-30 is supposed to be more of that overland capable vehicle hence the cladding and the higher ground clearance.
How much is that one? I live in Vegas and can make the drive there.
If you are interested in the vehicle you can contact me at my email jleggette@riversidemetro.com
I hope Mazda changes the carbon edition so the exterior is the gunmetal grey instead
Jadon - Can you review an F-35 too, please?
We will see!
Cool
New wheel designs for 2022, same 19" size as before.
I personally prefer the grand touring wheels from the previous years, however this signature style wheel I really like.
@@jadonatmazda Me too Jadon, those GT wheels look more interesting and have more depth to them but maybe these new Signature wheels are lighter or produce less drag. I'd be interested to see a weight comparison. Great review BTW!
Same garbage stock tire thou.
No fog lights?! I think I'll stick with my 2018 gt .
That red color pops.....................
No more fog lights ?? 🤦♂️
So I checked out the spec sheet and it looks like they did drop that feature in the US Market.
Is it actually true that this year's cx5 doesn't have the fog lights? 🙄
@@jadonatmazda if the headlights have same feature as my mazda6 carbon, "fog lights" are built in into the headlamp. Cool feature.
@@njramsfan30 That's interesting, i'll reach out to an area rep for conformation.
I don’t care for the additional red because that’s more scuffs waiting to happen
it is annoying to zoom in and out for maps through the controller
You didn't give us any real info on the engine. Outside of that, nice review.
Thank you for the feedback, I’ll incorporate that into future videos.
Finally no black plastic everything is painted
And it looks like crap lol

The carbon edition might be one of my favorites, I love the colors!
ugh, it looks so weird with that color uniformity. I really think it needs that black accent at the bottom.
I think the turbo model might work better for you then! It has the gloss black accent trim.
no touchscreen is no Mazda for me. I buy Mazda again if they finally put touchscreen for their infotainment system.
LEXUS had the same policy, buy they finally have moved away. All new NEXUS has large very high-end quality touchscreen infotaintment system
Didn’t mention the horsepower, torque numbers or epa! 👎🏽
I actually did bring up hp and torque! Hp is up six to 256 hp and torque is 320. I did not however include fuel economy, which is 24 mpg combined.
Typing on that screen gonna be terrible
Should've made it possible to touch the screen when the car is stopped
2015r
The CX-5 screen impedes vision...one reason to not buy cx-5...bad location...
i prefer the old look from 2017-2021. This mini redesign looks a little strange.
Still using garbage Toyo tires. Beautiful car thou.
Get rid of the prop rod because it makes the car look cheap
I wish the digital instrument cluster had the same digital read out as the cx30 does..also wish the center command buttons and turn knob for the screen was updated with same buttons as the cx30s
The upcoming CX-50 is on the CX-30 architecture, so I've got a feeling you might like that interior😉
Boring. Would much rather have seen you DRive the darn thing, especially oven this is the turbo model
Stay tuned!

sorry but the new 2022 design sucks
I don’t understand why on the steering wheel at 6 o’clock the pass through is covered by a black plastic piece..the other trims have a open 6 o clock pass through..confused
So I had that same question so I did some digging… turns out that is the core component for the heated steering!
