We used a green sand mix to fill divots on the tee boxes at Hawks Ridge golf course. It was also mixed with bent grass seed to fill in quicker. It seemed to fill in quicker than regular white sand.

Looks great to me. I know being in Texas is a completely different climate, but I keep my Tifway419 at .250” and the putting green at .175” without any issues.

I’ve always kept mine super short also. But everything I’ve read from uga says to keep it around .450”? I’m thinking maybe it’s stressing it out? Also could be the weather. I’ve seen tons of lawns with disease this spring. This is the first time I’ve had to deal with it

Nice work, I’m seeing a lot of large patch pressure this spring as well. Which SiteOne branch did you find the divot mix at? It’s sure not cheap, but there’s definitely a time and a place for it.

I’ve got the same exact spots in my yard. I hit it with propoconozole, some heritage g and about a pound of N last week in those spots and it’s filling in fast. Also, I’m cutting tiff419 at .42 and it looks amazing.

Good to know it’s filling in quick. I used heritage g also. I haven’t put the fertilizer to it yet. I will this weekend.

Interesting! Green sand in geology means glauconite sand. I wonder if it means the same in lawn care? It is rich in iron and potassium and the iron is in reduced form which is green. Did it turn rusty red as it weathered in the yard?
