In a way this scene is the opposite of Jaime Lannister's confession. Jaime broke his oath to do the right thing; these men kept theirs.
George Martin is trying to tell us that loyalty isn't worth sh!t if you're loyal to the wrong set of principles.

Such a cowards way to kill him, they had to trick him in order for him to overtaken.
What crap. Get's knifed (big ones) 5 times but doesn't die until punk Ollie stabs him. Ollie has a very punch-able face.
For me the best death. For books readers who know how important is Jon it would have been a shocking moment on the same scale with Neds death and the Red wedding.
And pretty much to every viewer with a brain... literally everyone knew he'd come back somehow, so it's the dumbest death
