I am thrilled to find you. I love your sweet voice. I have played baritone for several years . I only taught myself I love every song you play your soft easy jazz. I play with 30 baritones for a church going to retirements homes here in Texas. Glad you had a good experience in Houston with your mission group. Have a great day, I will playing with you.
Thank you Abigail. I have only just discovered you. Fabulous tutorial. I love my baritone too. It's great to watch this video with the chord variations.
The F chord Alt is my fave. I have dexterity issues and that middle finger bar acros the e & b are a real struggle. I'll keep practicing it of course but its great to have an option. Great tips TYTY!! 😊
Thank you so much! I honestly live jazz and I am learning the baritone ukulele right now and most tutorials just go really fast and it was good to find one that didn’t speed through everything
this is a great lesson, with a slight challenge for me but that's what i'm looking for. appreciate the time you take to help us all. looking forward to more. thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you so much! I saw your comment about patreon-the link is www.Patreon.com/abigailflowersmusic. Hope that’s helpful! I’ve heard they’ve had some site quirks recently so if that doesn’t work, it may just be a temporary bug on their site!
Favorite chord is the Fadd2, (I also use it in another thing I am learning from a ukulele video by Marco Crillo) I also love the Am7 shape because that shape is so versatile and it is part of your jazz progression video that starts with the C6 (i think - A barre across all 4 strings on the 5th fret) I really like the last progression at the end. It really is jazzy and easy to play. This was excellent information and fun. Now maybe build off these chord with a song to play along with....... I also have a separate question that I would like to ask, so I'm gonna email you.
I like all/most 7ths chords. Some of the so called "jazz" chords just sound wrong on their own but put in a progression, I think sound sense - I think!!
Context is definitely key!! I just taught a lesson to a teenager and we were doing jazz progressions and it’s so interesting to hear what chord qualities others prefer-it’s totally personal and very much impacted by context. Thank you so much for watching!
My name is Aaron. First of all thank you for the informative video. I play the baritone also, and I'm thinking of getting a Lanikai. I see you are playing one in this video and wanted to ask your opinion of the brand. Would you recommend them? Thanks, and God bless.
Hi! Thank you so much for watching. Full disclosure: I am sponsored by Lanikai, so I’m definitely biased, BUT I did play their instruments before I got connected! I think of Lanikais as perfect for performance and/or studio. I think most beginners would do well with something in a lower price range (if they’re trying to save money) but Lanikais are just a nice step up if you’re wanting to treat yourself or play publicly! So yes, I’m a big fan of Lanikai ukes, but I also know the price might not be right for everyone!
Wow! That"s a whole lot of cords for a Beginner. I am really over loaded trying to learn a little bit at a time. I love my baritone but this was way over load for me this time. And really does a beginner need that many cords to play a few songs. I am committed but not that much. Just letting you know.
Totally understandable! This tutorial isn't specifically for beginners, it's just meant to be approachable for folks who aren't able to do barre chords but want to build their harmonic vocabulary. Good for you for focusing on consistency rather than trying to learn everything at once.
Let me know what your favorite chord from this video is! I'm an E7b9 girl.
I could ride the Em9 all day long. Easy to play with my hooves. Thank you for explaining things so basic and well, it has been very helpful.
Pro tip: you can watch series on flixzone. I've been using them for watching loads of movies recently.
@Ezekiel Julian Yup, been watching on flixzone} for years myself :)
@Ezekiel Julian Yea, been watching on Flixzone} for months myself :D

Your 10 chord progressions video was a gem, but this video is the secret treasure
Thank Ms. Flower I want to play the baritone ukulele!
You're a gifted teacher. A rare treasure. Thank you for your generosity.
The last progression was a gem, sounded great. A big thank you, Abigail.

You make it simple! Great teacher!👏🏻
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate that.
Thank you for this, Abigail : ) Could you recommend a way to play a Gmin9 chord on baritone that isn't too hard to grab for arthritic fingers?

Could you add the link to your Patreon page in the description? It would make it easier to find your page there.

Abigail...Thank you for this stellar video! Picked up a lot on chord making and progressions...yea Jazz. How about Blues?
Thanks so much! I definitely have less experience with blues but will add that to the list! Thank you!
