These figures look like how a live action movie would portray them. Great Review
They look nothing like the live action movie characters. The movie would have been better if they did though!

One of my favorite "small details" of Mondo's Skeletor and He-Man figures is the design work on the Power Sword scabbards. He-Man's scabbard has a Battle-Cat design while Skeletor's has a snake design. Very cool detail work. Overall I find these figures to be very aesthetically pleasing! Thanks for the reviews!
there shouldn't be a gap between the hood and the armor. it's a pretty massive oversight. no one wears just a hood. a hood is always attached to something. obviously making a hood look like part of the armor AND have head articulation presents a bit of a challenge, but this is a premium figure. i feel it would be a better choice to make the hood from stiff cloth and attach it to the armor.
also, i'd prefer the alternate head to be in the same style with a different facial gesture, like the classic filmation skeletor sneer.
JRS totally agree. That hood gap makes it a definite no buy for me. It looks stupid and there is no way to try and hide it.

This review definitely made me rethink about Mondo’s take on MOTU universe. Wasn’t sold on the He-Man. The Merman had my interest peaked. However this Skeletor has me reaching for my wallet. Fun review and I am gonna take a chance on this Skeletor. Thanks again Pixel Dan! 👍🏻

Another great Mondo figure! Love this line. The larger 1/6 scale they do really separates it from other lines as well.

As far as the bad guys go, I’d love to see them do Beast Man and Trap-jaw. Stratos would be a cool good guy for them to do.

Great video! Just a minor nitpick... the exclusive accessory is actually the Cosmic Key, not his little buddy. The little blue guy comes with both the exclusive Skeletor as well as the regular version. 😊

I’ve always thought this guy looked good from the shoulders down (which is kind of a theme with the first few Mondo figs). The hood looks sculpted like it should look like it’s resting on the shoulders and chest. Looks a little off with the exposed neck. Like he’s wearing a bonnet. The cape helps!
Such a great figure. I can't believe I missed out on picking one of these up. Now my hunt begins cause I need this figure. They did a finaminal job on Skeletor.

I love how they have the skull and jaw to articulate its awesome. But for the head they should have had the head from the movie. That would look cool

Some thoughts:
The blue plastic of the body looks cheap, like the brittle plastic of older Play Arts Kai figures, and some of the seam lines and edges of the sculpted pieces look a little ragged;
I'm surprised they went with the hood being only part of the head and not connected to anything - though I realise this is a call-back to earlier figures;
I love how the harness straps hide the torso articulation;
The way the scabbard attaches to the back straps is very clever, and other figure manufacturers could learn from that;
The havoc staff is absolutely stunning, very impressed;
The number of accessories is really good;
I like that the cape is reversible, has a metal chain, and has the V cut to allow for the scabbard to poke out the top, clever!;
I thought there was an extra faceplate for Skeletor?
Thank you for these videos, but I was disappointed again that you didn't do a figure comparison with other Skeletors, I thought that you of all people would!

@Brian Cairns Thank you, that's good to know - they're obviously well-made figures. I've noticed it can often be the case that the high amount of lighting needed to do a figure review can often leave the figure looking quite different from seeing it in normal lighting when you have it in hand.

Hi Dan, again nice review, great Mondo stuff really. One thing though, the sword sheath of Skeletor is not same as He-Man, the bottom part of Skeletor is snake head.
@Brian Cairns I'm pointing out there's a difference on the aword sheath, saying the same can be misinterpreted by some viewers because it can be taken literally. This figure share parts and accessories, it will always be good to clear those things up upon description.

Have you tried reversing the cape so the purple is the outer layer? I think that might be more striking then the black.

Great review. The new Skeletor figure comes out tomorrow. I want one, but not sure I'm willing to part with $260 plus tax for him. He'd be my only 1:6 figure if I got him, and I'm not sure what I'd do with him.

If I could only buy one of the Mondo Masters of the Universe 1/6th scale figures, I think Skeletor would be the one I got... very cool large figure!
The pale blue inside the eye sockets of the alternate head makes it look like a man wearing a Skeletor mask. Other than that, I think it works fine.
I love this Skeletor, he’s my favorite of the mondo figures I’ve got so far.

Mondo makes the ultimate MOTU versions, it can't get any better than this, stop making more versions. This is it!! (maybe if the eyes of Skeketor has some lights but it's not really necessary)

Well getting this guy and heman are cheaper than getting the original classics versions.
I hope they do a clawful,but so far im digging all the designs apart from heman. They feel like a higher end motu classics,which were amazing.

i got a brand new heman in the box for chirstmas , never open it , i wanna trade it for a skeletor or a cobra comander , any web sites were they do this type of thing , ive never open it .

All these figures are incredible, really, even if the cost of 500+ $ is quite exaggerated. The faces of Skeletor and He-man look a little bit weird to me: tall heads with long faces... :-/
I thought the promo shots looked great, but the more I see of this the less I'm interested. I hope one day we can get articulated figures in this scale in the style of the sideshow statues (preferably not with that huge SS price tag).

The Head is lovely, but it is too simplistic compared to the hyper detailed bodies.
Figures are cool "but" I personally think that the bicep and tricep are kinda short not as long as most of my 12 inch figures so basically short arms

I'm not loving the proportions or the shoulder armor. The armor seems too small. I'm also really bothered by the thin strip of light blue flesh showing at his neck.
Merman is the best, by far.

Amazing figure. Opened a new browser tab to buy one, thought $80, maybe a $100 max... but $160?! That's expensive for a Masterpiece Transformer, which... transforms. Overpriced in my opinion. Will have to pass.

Let me guess before watching vid. Everything about the product is great no cons won't say how expensive it is. Pixel dan will talk up everything just so companies send him free stuff. Never gives a true review of stuff cause he doesn't want to bite the hand feeds.
