I'm in favour of massive expansion of electrification and of replacement of 80s and 90s DMUs from the point of view of emissions and sustainability. However I'll very much miss the external and internal engine sounds of the Class 158s when they're no longer on the national network! The term AMSR comes to mind for me too 😁
Well, we for now don't know what will happen to the class 158 fleet. Personally, think they are too good for them being withdrawn as they are key for express and regional workings. The sounds of the Cummins engines are very soothing. Happy to hear you've enjoyed it :-)
