    Big fan of the channel - great SRT content! Not surprised by 4.0 time 0-60 from your stock Durango SRT. You will get better times in the colder winter temperatures like I do in my stock 2015 Jeep SRT - best time ever was 3.7 seconds last February on a 26*F day - couldn’t believe it but that is what the performance pages recorded. Can’t wait to get my Trackhawk in a couple weeks, which is built and now in transit from Detroit - wondering if 3.5 second time could get down to low 3 seconds in cold weather!! Keep up the great work!

    • @rkalla
      @rkalla 6 лет назад

      John Matier can you post a picture of the SRT timer from your car? I am having a REALLY hard time digesting this... for a 5100 lbs car, taking 0-60 time down an entire second is something that would typically take ~200-250hp - to suggest that the air simple being denser and cooler did the trick seems... unicorn-like...

    • @jeffherndon7893
      @jeffherndon7893 6 лет назад +5

      Just purchased a 2018 RT. Almost pulled the trigger on the SRT, but couldn’t justify the additional 17k. I use my Durango everyday.. tow a boat .. take trips with the fam .. RT made more sense for my current lifestyle. However, if you have the $$ and just don’t give a hoot.. go SRT. I will say the RT is plenty quick. Still fun to drive, sounds great, and presents itself very well.

    • @tolane76
      @tolane76 6 лет назад +1

      Jeff Herndon that's my delima. Do I want to spend an extra 17k for the engine, suspension, breaks, srt pages, and cool steering wheel. No boat for me just hauling around the fam. If I could only the the RT w/ brembos and flat bottom steering wheel then I'd be set.

    1) Do you take this on your wedding shoots? Or to B+H for your gear reviews?
    2) Why did you not get the adaptive cruise/forward braking radar option?
    3) Are you sure the SRT can drop down to 4 cyls? My dealer told me only the 5.7 Hemi can do that.

    Great review. I have one very similar. White with the tow package and collision avoidance / adaptive cruise control. Black suede and leather interior. Still haven't located a suitable location for launch control. One odd thing with my SRT settings, track mode shows up as drag mode. Probably works just like track mode but it says "Drag" where yours shows "track". I can't locate any preference setting to toggle from track to drag, so it's obviously a different software version for the SRT mode. Drag mode is rough as hell, so I usually run as Sport unless the wife is in the car, then it's street. One of these days I'll quiz the dealer about drag settting. Keep up the good videos. I've yet to see another one driving around my area.

      philly BeRt No DiRt
      It is billed as a family hauler SRT. On our trip to Nashville, we booked it and never used cruise once. On the leisurely ride home, we used Eco and Adaptive. It was great for those long stretches with grannies in the left lane. If they got out do the way, we were back to cruising. If they didn’t, Hays when the SRT was utilized to the fullest!

    BTW @ 11:55, you are missing the “transmission” setting - this is a problem about half the Durango SRT owners are seeing and the fix is to go to the dealer and they apply a patch and then you are able to change how the trans shifts - apparently a goof between preproduction and production and then caught and fixed after a certain date.

      They are great vehicles. They handle great and are very reliable. I would grab one if you like them for sure.

      Driveway Demons thanks for your quick response. Have you had any Grand Cherokee or Durango that went over 100k miles without major issues? Is it expensive to fix a major issue on those?

      Really is not that impressive when you consider 475 horsepower and all-wheel drive sports cars only have two wheel drive so they have more spinning.

      Ice Icemann I have an Srt jeep, my best is 4.4 / 0 to 60 The damn Durango weighs more than mine, and it’s faster. I’m impressed! 😁

      Ice Icemann camaro SS is the best pony car in my opinion. Very little spin, 4.2 best 0-60. Maybe get 3.9 0-60 with radials. Durango SRT for sure is capable of 3.8 others have already done it on the SRT Durango Facebook group. So that means 5350 lb Durango is faster 0-60 than a 3600 lb muscle car. If that don't impress you then I don't know what does.

      Driveway Demons you might want to check out the 2018 Mustang GT on stock radios 10 speed Auto doing 11.8 many videos on RUclips so to me the Mustang is better than the Camaro and you're wrong about the SRT Durango time you might want to research at I know you are Mopar guy

    26 mpg in a Hellcat? That's 1 mpg more than older Challengers (2010 and earlier) with a 3.5l V6... DAMN

      I have an SRT Durango and can attest to the fact that the beats audio system sucks! Speakers rattle even at low levels if there is any bass at all. I was listening to ESPN radio and a guy with a deep voice was talking and the speakers were rattling. For $73k, I expected a lot more. The Bose in my old 2010 Infiniti were better.

      For what it’s worth, I have an SRT and I am very pleased with the beats audio. No rattling in mine. I listen to hard rock and classic rock and I listen to it loud. Plenty of bass to add, not much adjusting needed for mids and highs.

    Ford Flex Ecoboost is faster than every Durango with exception of the 2018, which increased the hp to 485. However, an Ecoboost Flex with a Livernois tune has been proven to make 600hp EASILY. Rather if you like it or not, that is the main competitor for this Durango, it's bigger, can be faster, more comfortable, and definitely more reliable. It's also AWD. Tuned Flex vs Durango, no comparison. Flex wins. I've driven both...and I am a Mopar man. I own 2 classic Mopars: 73 Duster and 71 Duster. Also own a Pacifica and Flex.

      natureschild101 why are you comparing a tuned vehicle to a stock vehicle? Kinda defeats the purpose if you ask me.

    • @josephrainner1074

      It's quite simple The Man 86, the Durango has been tuned by the SRT division to an output of 480 HP. That's a tune. Regardless of if it came from factory or not. Tune is a tune. The 2016 RT Durango was rated at 360HP, and RWD, which was slower than the Ecoboost Ford Flex, which was tuned to 365HP, AWD. My point is that since the Durango has been tuned to the extreme by SRT, Livernois makes a pretty reasonable tune for the Ford Flex that allows for over 600HP. I think that tune still makes the Flex number one. The Durango is overrated, while the quickness of the Flex is underrated.
