      yeah, its got a lot to do with the room, the pads and the pad holder.
      speaking from experience, when you hit nice pads that have been broken in, in a hall with someone who knows how to hold pads it feels glorious.
      But hitting bouncy pads with someone who is too rigid in a carpeted room will make you feel like a giant pussy.

  • @jaydabbott965
    @jaydabbott965 10 лет назад

    Joe your making a hugh mistake in your kicks... You need to bring it back to your starting position just as fast as you throw it. That is the secret to having stronger kicks and will learn to put that leg back on the floor faster to regain your balance and then you can start to in-gauge your next movement faster, and you may learn to bring your kick back as a low shin block by turning your hip over immediately after landing a kick.

    • @shahnamfazlali
      @shahnamfazlali 10 лет назад

      That's how we kick in muay thai and kickboxing. You even exaggerate the push further in training (which means your shin will stay on the pad longer).
      As Bas Rutten said, a wood chopper doesn't snap and whip the log with his ax and bring it right back, he hits it and digs into it.

    • @jaydabbott965

      Im a retired Muay thai and full contact bare knuckle karate champion and i was ranked 4th in the world by the IKF from 99-2004. I started training muay thai in 88' brother. I have mastered and perfected the thai Kicks and the power and conditioning behind them. Yes, that is me to your left landing a jump spinning crescent kick at age 17 as a brown belt fighting a 3rd dan at the Sabaki with a win breaking several of my opponents ribs. Believe me I know what im talking about. I also hold a 6th degree master status and another 4th degree black belt. I have a solid 30 yrs of martial science and old school trauma training. No one has more power then I when it come to thai kicks. Thai and Cambodian fighters and Kru master trainers are afraid of my power. My current weight and height 5'8 195lb. If i was smaller in size i would have fought the late Ramon Dekkers. He and i are of the same training clothe, only i have more technically skill and split ability. My last fight was with Kongnapa 7 time world champion thai fighter. It's not on youtube because I was the first fighter to give him a run for his money and i put him on this back including landing two perfect solid neck kicks which he shook off to my surprise.

    • @JasonHughes0-1
      @JasonHughes0-1 10 лет назад

      Well hes not in a combat situation right now. Chances are hes alot more technically sound in competition

    • @LivingLegacy77
      @LivingLegacy77 10 лет назад +1

      PewDieCinToastKenCRY I would argue the opposite. I've found myself to be much more 'technical' when practising on pads or a bag. It's when you're put in a pressure situation like sparring or a fight that your technique tends to go out the window.

    • @JasonHughes0-1
      @JasonHughes0-1 10 лет назад

      Jake Belyea it tends to be that way for relatively inexperienced competitors, but elite level guys are a whole different thing. I'd consider Joe an elite level kicker due to his years of TKD and Kickboxing experience wouldn't you?

    • @LivingLegacy77
      @LivingLegacy77 10 лет назад

      PewDieCinToastKenCRY Oh yeah for sure he's got a lot of experience. But I don't see how it would change. His technique wouldn't get better when he's put in a pressure situation such as a fight. It could only be the same or worse. If it does get better then that would lead me to believe he is half assing his training, which I don't think he would do.

    Squats and deadlifts do the same thing.

    • @honeymonster147
      @honeymonster147 9 лет назад

      no they don't. those are good for stabilizers, but they do not work your rotational muscles with any kind of explosive movement.
      squats and dead lift are symmetrical movements all about raising vertically, not twisting.

    • @SavSci
      @SavSci 9 лет назад

      honeymonster147 That's not right dude, squats (depending on technique) and deadlifts are hip dominant movements they transfer right over to explosive power in kicking and punching in the transverse plane. These movements with kettlebells are the ones that work stabilizing muscles. Squats and deadlifts mainly work your big major movers which function rotationally as well, core muscles are dynamic they don't just work in one plane like that. Even personally, I know for a fact my kicking power went up BIG TIME after I started a 5x5 strength training program with squats and deadlifts.

      Theo Zodda you're right that the prime movers are worked when squatting and dead lifting and that they are very important in throwing powerful kicks, but understand that they are both 'pushing' movements whereby you are extending your limbs away from your body in a straight line. However, explosive core rotation is not utilized when squatting or dead lifting and is extremely important in throwing a round kick.
      Im not implying that squats and deadlifts arent useful or effective in increasing your explosive striking power. just that they are different, and that they don't do the same thing as throwing around kettle bells.

    You never come off a target after impact using a Muay Thai round kick with a straight leg... After impact on the way back to reset it goes into a bend then planted back in stance.. Looks like someone didn't do their homework Joe...

      Clint Wilson is that's a Muay Thai roundhouse? pretty sure he does taekwondo

      Clint Wilson is right, It does Not matter What Style You Trained in, You Are Suppose To Control Your Kicks From Start To Finish As in You Chamber Correctly, And From Impact You Plant Back To The Stance You Started from Depending On The Situation But, In The Case Of This Video And As For His Demonstration He Should Do Just That.

    Hate to criticize, but joe kinda did that kick wrong. Needs to keep his elbows in and as he throws his right leg up at the same time he should kinda flick his right arm down, when you're throwing a body or head kick its fine to land with your instep. I prefer kicking with my shin with leg kicks only. But what the fuck do I know

      +scheissekopf92 nothing. that's what you know if you decide that flicking your arm down is correct
