thank you to the camera man for actually focusing on both the lecturer AND his slides. I really hate watching a lecture on the web and trying to imaging the person's slides. You wouldn't believe how common it is, again, thank you to the camera man!
I realize that this is not the most easy type of lecture to digest, but if you can imagine in a time before the typewriter and FB, you can appreciate how important it is to see our earlier media in context to the huge passage of time...
Hi sir,I want to ask you some questions: 1.what is the difference between:philology,codicology,manuscriptology,paleography,manuscript studies? 2.do they include historical linguistics? 3.can a person study all codices and manuscripts around the world? 4.if they are different from each other,is there a field that covers them all? 5.how can I self study them? 6.what sources should I use to study them(considering that I am in 11th grade so the sources must be from complete beginning to most advanced)? Look up medieval manuscripts on any major library...they are usually digitised. For the other questions, I suggest you Google them. Some universities offer medieval studies, which includes manuscripts.
The information in the video is interesting, but it's really dry. This is why stuff in academia doesn't get out to the rest of the world. There's all this cool stuff, but the video makes it sound... boring. I have half a mind to translate this thing into regular English and upload it to RUclips so that people can hear this stuff without falling asleep. We really need more Neil DeGrasse Tysons and John Greens in the world.
This is regular English. The presentation may be dry, but actually quite information dense. It is not for those with low attention, which seems to be what you are trying to say.
@Vergilius Brutus In depth information and engaging delivery don't have to be mutually exclusive. The problem with this speaker is his monotone delivery and all the stumbling and stuttering over words. It's difficult to listen to.

There was nothing else to do LOL. Plus if I'm not mistaken it was quite lucrative.
