The new resolution is neat, but If you think that changing the game resolution will make the development longer, then it's better to just stick to the original one. Nice work so far!

Personally, I like the new HUD. But the old one was still great and nostalgiac. It seems that people are pretty divided on it, so is this something you could set up as an option prior to starting a game? Same with the resolution? I mean, we all know you can't make everyone happy, but if you could manage ti make it optional it'd be beneficial. I'm sure everyone is as excited and impressed with this game as I am and shouldn't complain either way so I say just do whatever works best for you.
I'm hoping and praying that this doesn't get shut down and that Capcom notices and hires JKB to produce this game for all current gen consoles and PC. They need to take notes from Sega when they hired Christian Whitehead to release his Sonic games on the phone as well as Sonic Mania. (Sorry about the run-on sentences)
Hey man, take as long as you need with this. Pour all of your passion into it. I don't care if it takes another 10 years. This game has the potential to be a bonafide master piece. Don't let anyone pressure you into releasing it a second before you're 110% ready.
Resolution: Prefer this newer one, no need to cater to nostalgia for the sake of it. Being able to see more is always welcome. HUD: Liked the older one, seemed cleaner and simpler. I'd even prefer vertical lifebars since they're easier to look at with a quick glance.
@AUTIST KIKE Just thinking it over after over after I made that comment, I came to the conclusion that the reason for why I feel this way is because horizontally the lifebar seems more pixelated than it looks vertically. If they were both as sharp it would be an easier comparison from there. But no, what you're essentially saying is "it's better because it's better". It's a preference, and one that's shared if you look at other comments. Also, it does change in fact change visual accessibility when players have been conditioned by previous Megaman games to look at the extreme left instead of the top. I do still think with a vertical bar you can spend some fraction of time less gauging your health than a horizontal one. It's not a big deal though.

Yeah, me too. Especially since I've seen what they've done for Mega Man 11...Ok it's not a bad game, but it's exactly the same thing as every other MM games. After all these years, I was expecting them to improve the recipe. That's why I'm so excited about corrupted, not only does it seems to harness perfectly the style and gameplay of MMX but it also improve it.
I love the way that you implemented that Megaman Zero style life bar and how fluidly the boss knock back works. This is the best introduction of new mechanics applied to classic gameplay that I've ever seen.
This looks awesome. I think there is so much possibility and potential these Megaman X games could do. From what it looks like, there's clearly a level up system which I think is a great idea. Maybe what could make this game even better are to make it objective critical in stages with the boss battle either at the end or somewhere in between and some stages are time sensitive to complete. There's just so much possibility. I really like this SNES classic look. But ultimately, I like Zero. Always has been my favorite and continues to be. Can't wait for the final product.

Visually, I prefer the old lifebars, but the interesting feature about the new one is that they turn red to show the damage taken. Also, I prefer the "wings have never saved anyone who's faced me. I hope you've got a better plan than that" line by Zero. That said, I applaud you for implementing a kick attack into Zero's gameplay moves. Kicks wouldn't seem out of place considering his fighting style.
Every time you upload a new video, the game looks better... but I can't really say I like the new HUD, that's because I simple love the classic one, and I'm aware that asking for switchable option is asking for more completely unecessary work, you game is still rocking every step of the way though.

this guy working on this game for about a decade is going down in the history books as a legend. Every theme i have heard from this game is awesome and its as iconic (to me) to the series if not more than the capcom megaman games! thus game has so many amazing aspects to it, it feels like the megaman zero games but with the stage style of a mmx game, this is indeed a phenomenal gaming experience.
Been following this project for years now. Total respect for your dedication, sir! Would love to see Capcom putting its eyes on in, giving you a call and turning it an official release Sonic Mania style.

Zero's divekick looks amazing and extremely fun to use! His healthbar looks nice too except the logo seems kinda off. I noticed relativley early on the left side of the screen some black bars for a short moment. All in all looks great! Edit: between 0:37 and 0:40 Zero's victory jingle is awesome!
Nice work and judging by this video the challenge seems slightly watered down I hope that's the case since most nostalgia projects seem over challenging but this looks just right. There should always be room for both hardcore gamers and the regular gamers.

I see that you went for an MMZ style for the health bars, I can see the practicality of that for keeping track of a boss's phase. A question though, does that mean that the health upgrades are going to be the green bar instead of increasing the yellow bar's size? Or is it a whole other upgrade?

[not likely in this lifetime] reboot, it'll be full 3D Action-Rpg combat with a HEAVY Action bend, with platforming still being in the more complex/rugged exterior/interior environments, the Chips system of X8 expanded to be a full Lvl-system {with the Total Max Lvl in Maverick Hunter X1 being 200, possibly 300+ in MHX2 & maybe 400+ in MHX3}, Metals as Exp & convertible to Alloys {in-lore Cash $/¥}, bosses will get a bit of Dark Souls treatment & their Stages will be like solo/tag-team versions of dungeons like in MMOs {by Tag-Team i mean like it was in X8, NOT online stuff, but with the party being 1-3, not 1-2 [cuz if you only have 1 playable character accessible... you get the idea]}, with 3D open-world regions/instances where said Stages are, Npcs & Side-Missions that give Metals/Alloys/Chip Blueprints {for expanding your max Lvl via R&D to make the actual Chips FROM the Blueprints}, a Modular Chips system like X5 but vastly expanded, a vastly expanded version of X3's Ride Armor system {like this Fan-made game seams to have}, alternative methods of progressing/weakening Stages/Bosses; like hidden shortcuts & special Aux. For the character it only goes up to 32 for X and 36 for Zero, so only 2 bars.
