I get how "little" things can seem way bigger when you're dealing with PTSD. I too have PTSD in the form of c-PTSD. You're totally right when you say that your feelings are valid even over the smallest things, especially when it comes to PTSD. Thank you for bringing awareness to this mental health issue. That takes courage. I also have to say, your nanny is sooo sweet. I'm glad you found a great nanny for Beckham & Blakely. So important when you have children with medical needs. Your sweet nanny clearly handles Beckham & Blakely's medical needs with compassion & you can see how much she loves & cares for them.
I would say trying different things for his mouth would help with his aversions to different things in his mouth. Also, he probably didn't use a bottle and they are trying to teach him to suck and swallow. He has been fed with his g-tube all of his life.

Beckham seemed to be fighting against eating by mouth. But once he realized it was something he likes, he tried it. I wonder if he realizes his feeding tube is much faster when he's really hungry. Also I wondered if he was thirsty and may have wanted water first. But one thing I never ever wonder about is how much Beckham is loved by you, Rachel. ❤

Rachel, Just like you, I was really frustrated when I first got my Invisalign. Like you I had little buttons all over, my mouth and I hated that you could see them. But here I am 2 years post Invisalign, and it’s safe to say it’s was one of the best choices I had made for myself. You got this!
I was so inspired by your channel. Beckam is such a sweet little warrior. No matter what that little guy goes through... he pushes through, and just smiles. I'm totally amazed that Hunter could get veneers without destroying his teeth. I chipped my tooth and HAD to get it repaired. I never could imagine why anyone would do this on purpose unless their teeth were so horrible. I'm totally impressed with this inventor of those no prep veneers. And I'm happy for Hunter getting these amazing veneers. They look great.

I mentioned this in one of your lives, but have you heard of conductive education it is an amazing therapy program designed to help kids and adults with motor disabilities. I am 16 and I have been doing it for years. I would definitely look into it. I think it would help Beckham so much.

I know how it can be embarrassing for your face to change and have imperfections but just think, you have bigger fish to fry! We sometimes put vanity ahead of of what matters more. Just keep remembering how lucky you are!
I can only imagine what it’s like to have a child with special needs. I do know from watching friends parent special needs children that grieving for what could have been pops up unannounced along the journey. I’m so glad you take the time to care for yourself, exercise, and feel all the feels. Parenting two young kids is hard enough. Add in full time vlogging and some extra child needs….whew. That’s a lot. You handle it all with grace , but don’t forget that it’s a lot. Be kind to yourself😘
As exhausting and scary as it can be, life with a special needs child is also the most unexpectedly gorgeous experience. It teaches life lessons like patience in a way I'm not sure any other experience can. ❤

Acne is very upsetting. I totally understand being upset by it. I had mild acne as a teenager and for some reason it came back again when I turned 30. I remember being very upset about it. Fortunately it did not last long.
I had invisalign. I felt like I was scammed into getting them by my dentist in Ohio. It's a long story so to sum it up, I am out $5500 and my dentist here in NC said he never would have sold me invisalign. At least my new dentist has saved me from spending the thousands more the Ohio dentist had in store on his treatment plan. Hope you are feeling better Rachel.

Adult Achne, you are the age when I started getting it. Stress is a really big part of it. Really tough sometimes. They get painful. We all go thru it. Ptsd is so hard.

I just went through something kind of similar. I went to a dentist and he did really horrible shoddy dental work. Everything he did started coming undone and then I found out a lot was not repairable. I take medications for my dystonia and ra and I am so vein. I lost it when I seen the damage he had done. He made me feel like it was my fault. We grieve over things that alter us when e are used to them being one way. I am looking to get implants now . That is how bad it is.

All my 3 sons had braces. My youngest recently had invisaline I didn’t know about the buttons either. His teeth had moved quite a bit He now has a permanent retainer glued in behind d his teeth. I had a three month braces which consisted of clear aligners for three months (I had braces for 5 years as a teenager) it will be over soon and you’ll be glad you did it
I know you guys have a chair from your school and Beckham has a wheelchair of his own, but this might be a good chair for the house or for situations where you’re in water parks or the pool kind of thing or if you don’t want his chair to get wet, but you still want him to have the mobility and not be stuck in the stroller. This might be some thing that can help with that. This family makes wheelchairs for children it’s nonprofit you only pay for shipping. For you as well as your husband it seems appearance- showing off - is a big deal - which I don't understand at all. Beckham eyes often show kind of anxiety and / or emptiness I feel sorry for . He is and will be unable to express what the impact is on being subjected to the camera . For me , and most people in western Europe , it' s simply not done expositie your child to the world this way. You may want to try giving it to him with nothing in it so that he can explore with it and feel the texture before you try it with any food on it

Adult Achne, you are the age when I started getting it. Stress is a really big part of it. Really tough sometimes. They get painful. We all go thru it. Ptsd is so hard.

I just went through something kind of similar. I went to a dentist and he did really horrible shoddy dental work. Everything he did started coming undone and then I found out a lot was not repairable. I take medications for my dystonia and ra and I am so vein. I lost it when I seen the damage he had done. He made me feel like it was my fault. We grieve over things that alter us when e are used to them being one way. I am looking to get implants now . That is how bad it is.
Do a lot of research first. I've heard some terrible stories. Good luck

All my 3 sons had braces. My youngest recently had invisaline I didn’t know about the buttons either. His teeth had moved quite a bit He now has a permanent retainer glued in behind d his teeth. I had a three month braces which consisted of clear aligners for three months (I had braces for 5 years as a teenager) it will be over soon and you’ll be glad you did it

I know you guys have a chair from your school and Beckham has a wheelchair of his own, but this might be a good chair for the house or for situations where you’re in water parks or the pool kind of thing or if you don’t want his chair to get wet, but you still want him to have the mobility and not be stuck in the stroller. This might be some thing that can help with that. This family makes wheelchairs for children it’s nonprofit you only pay for shipping. Just thought it was something you guys might be interested in.

Yet I ' do not get it all : your talking about appearance : it is not that important but you keep talking about it .
For you as well as your husband it seems appearance- showing off - is a big deal - which I don't understand at all.
Beckham eyes often show kind of anxiety and / or emptiness I feel sorry for .
He is and will be unable to express what the impact is on being subjected to the camera .
For me , and most people in western Europe , it' s simply not done expositie your child to the world this way.
Some parents - with disabled children - may ' benefit ' or feeling supported by your story .
