Am I the only person who came here after DJ Speetser interview with MacG😅
with you broo
🤚😂
You already know mayne 😂
we here'
me too
The fact that Speedsta didn't even feature in this episode, as maybe a "one last epi" just proves how hurt he was by the fans behaviour and criticism of him, and some of y'all are wack for that but I wish him the best🤝
Speedsta left in season 2moes
Sjava is one of our own, we'll continue supporting him until proven guilty!
Have the same energy if your daughter goes through the samething. (God forbid)
They never said Costa is appropriating when he was dancing for their favorite rapper! They must leave the boy, titch gang cel’ uboni zandla phezulu! 💚💚
Rouge New Era Sessions The Movie has to be taken seriously as a visual album. It's really underrated.
Def underrated, although it won an award at the SAFTAs (South African Film & TV Awards)
How is underrated when it won a SAFTA
Hi guys,
Just a quick one.
What camera/s are you guys using to shoot the PopCast?
Shap
Canon 5D, 2x 80Ds and 70D
@@deezywaffles4190 Thank you very much for that my brother 🙏🏽
Scoop, we shouldn't forget that Nasty C dropped a visual album for Bad Hair and premiered it at Ster-Kinekor cinema's in every major city in the country. I was at the one in Claremont, Cape Town.
SBWL GIN is not owned by Busiswah guys, it is owned by a Guy from Cape town in Khayelitsha. ( Wandile Samente) please do more research.
I think with regards to costa - ppl are being affected by a phenomenon called the uncanny valley - where if something is so close to authenticity but doesn't quite reach it - it then causes a natural uncomfortably
Well said by Vigi 💯, the kid is South African and I listen to the Break fast show on Yfm, I see no difference between him and Dj Ankletap who I got mad Love for.... Cultural appropriation for me its when big Corporate companies use black culture to reach the masses, for more into that search for Dame Dash interviews where he talks about Lyor Cohen
I started listening to Hip hop in '94 and official became a hiphop head '96... back then there was no SA Hiphop but Kwaito was there... this is the reason I love HHP cause to me he can do both so well. So to me I've learned to admit music is a feeling... If I feel like "boom bap" I look for guys like NAS, WESTSIDE GUNN, etc.... ohhh even in SA guys used to rap over boom bap beats before "Trap" .... so things are changing and with the internet we can choose what you LOVE! coming to Costa, I'm happy for the guy... his got a great LP and his production is on point... All the best to me. just like Eminem... he's welcomed to OUR culture as long he shows RESPECT! Lol Thanks for the dope show Vigi, Cos, and Scoop #PEACE
That "ayikho lento eniyithethayo" from Scoop 😂 🤣 😂 😂
The rant of Scoop at 32:24 yho 😵🔥
As far as Xhosa hip hop being comical 🤣🤣 that was then and you haven’t heard ama dyan ale era. Ta Scoop check out rappers from uMthatha they bring a different sound we call it Ntshiba music. RUclips search AndroiDinski, ChiccoDinski, K-won, Bhut’Legend, Kenny Black SA just to mention a few.
This sound is way too dope
bhut'legend and android are something else bro!!!
DAMN DRIEMANSKAAP USE TO KILL IT BACK IN THE DAY. AND THEY HAD BARS SYLLABLES AND CONTENT
I second that 🔥🔥🔥😤
@@aveladinga2933 bro suyithetha 🔥🔥, most artists are coming with a whole new wave 🌊.. yo check out The Juice Up page on Facebook bruv.
@@mthunzimhlongo660 they still do bruh...
People are trying to be too controversial with the Costa culture situation. The same people who keep saying bring the sound closer to home when Nasty raps in English are the same people who are bashing Costa . Where’s the sense in that ? Costa is “Made In Africa” did they want him to sound like Eminem?
Thank you !
cultural appropriation has nothing to do with language. I can speak a different language and still practice my culture. And Eminem is praised because he doesnt appropriate black culture. Eminem is talented and knew he didnt have to change his image to be accepted in hip hop industry . Eminem didnt have cornrows and skrr skrr dreads. He didnt walk and talk like black Americans, and thats why he was accepted . Costa is selling black culture and yall dont see it? He even said uses google translate to write... if its so difficult why doesn't he just rap in English cause Costa has the talent,he just needs to be himself qha!!
@@omolemo4397 I’ll quote you on this “I can speak a different language but still practice my culture” so then how is this different from what Costa is doing? If speaking a different language can be set apart from culture then why is it different in this case? Why are you contradicting yourself?
@@djcakez_sa Costa said he cant speak a venac language fluently. Why is he going out of his way to Google translate a language to be accepted into the industry. Costa can contribute to the culture by respecting it and celebrating it. Not by appropriating certain things to get into the industry. The dude has so much talent he just needs to be himself
Thank you
Love the format of this show. Big up for showcasing BAPS and keeping it local 👏🏿🙌🏿
DRIEMANSKAAP WAS FIRE BACK THEN. THE WHOLE GROUP WAS LIKE MZANSI'S WU TANG CLAN.
I may be wrong but as far as I know. An Album is A Mainstream or Commercial compilation of songs with a tracklist that normally ranges between 10-15 Tracks however nowadays albums have longer Tracklists as songs have become shorter due to streaming platforms, so people nowadays compile a long tracklist with short songs, An Artist's latest Album should represent their highest Artistic standard at the time. A mixtape is a Non-commercial compilation of songs that could be new or even collected from old catalogs, The tracklist of a Mixtape can be as short as an album or as long as 40 tracks even, Just imagine a mixtape as those Discs sold from the back of the cars in the 90's, the disc just contains a whole lot of songs from the artist, just for your enjoyment. An EP is an Extended Playlist that comes after an Album release, It's just a short project that contains a few hits that never made the album, Can have a tracklist of like 1-9 songs.
If you here for JMolley 12:22
I'm so glad it's all love with speedy. Miss speedy though
Youngsta could pull up the movie shandis... Proper story teller! 👌🏿
he could've done it with 3T tbh
Skatehub feels homely, dope episode. Big ups to all those putting in the work in their crafts, recognized and not yet recognized. All in due time 🤘🏾✨
Great episode, loving the segments at the end😭😭😭♥️🔥

i like the new format, really dope
Guys WHYYYYY can't we download the video 😏
I'm listening for the 3rd time I like how Scoop and Ms Comso were subtle especially in disagreement about social issues at first. It's beautiful to see they can disagree and have better opinions going forward. Lovely folks. My man Vigi was held back for some reason.
the background is YOTV'ish....or I'm the onlyone 🤔
whole setup is looking SABC... love the show but they need to get back to the fly stuff. Something was just off on this one
So we can’t download anymore?
Been a minute since I have watched this channel I have to catch up !!
This needs to be on TV now! So Professional !
Great show , but we kindly ask Siya to let Noni speak and finish her points . He must not interject her when she is still speak or disrupt her . Sister Noni allows it out of her decency but Scoop relax dyan.
Music is a universal language. Why must we always point out things because of one's race and culture. Let's just love and appreciate the music instead of pointing fingers
Damn, this whole episode has me looking at Scoop differently. That whole weaves comment was ignorant as fuck bro.
I actually like it when i scoop goes rogue its so funny but necessary 🤣🤣🤣🤣🔥
Mfwethu!!!!😂😂😂
Where can I get the #baps clothes?
Scoop really took notes from NOTA, fact verification
Objectivity doesn't allow one to ignore Nota.

Mixtapes used to be rappers on popular beats, they couldn't clear those beats so they made mixtapes and were still able to display their skill.
Albums were a body of work, a journey but also print ready with a full promo tour and sometimes without promo. Albums would be printed and sold in stores and had dates with launch parties and listening experiences prepared. However, in this day and age albums are less prepared and have become a collection of music from an artist as opposed to a body work following a concept.
EP's are an electronic release. This means it's exclusively online and widely accessible but usually are a bite sized version of what was to come or an addition to what had already come. EP's are predominantly used as promo and ways for artists to slowly introduce themselves or their next evolution.
Yohh why can't I download this one on RUclips tho?? 😢....... But fuck that yall got fire content shoutout 👍👑
Shout out my OG scoop❗❗❗❗❕❕❕🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Its dope how yall have different perspectived but ziyaConnect.. appreciate Ms Cosmo for always balancing us nge Context. jonga Scoop yandibasela ngeXhosa, haibo Dj Vigi and Scoop bALANCING things out 🔥🔥❤💕
What's name of the track on 47:50
“he now knows what it feels like to be a black man.” unbelievably pathetic statement: unknowledgeable and so dismissive of the black community’s trauma over centuries by reducing it to merely speech.
Scoop is uninformed.
"The streets of Bryston" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 im dead.... Scoop youre a fool... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
An EP is an extended play of a album that's out already or an album that's on the way.
A mixtape (street album/free album) is a non commercial album, it doesn't hold the responsibilities of a "commercial" album. As Vigi said you can collect previously recorded music and create a playlist and call it a mixtape. Traditionally a mixtape is a collective of remixes, extra verses to previously released songs and songs that aren't commercial material. Before people use to give mixtape to DJs on the come up.
An album is a full project which as Vigi said follows one story and one concept. It also inherits the responsibilities of a commercial project and is often treated as such!
I wish Vigi explained more on this point, he knows what these things are better than a lot of people. Either way, great explanation from the gang non the less.
You also Get EPs before albums & those are usually used to introduce the concept of the album.
Hence why I said "an album that's on the way" in my opening line.
@@mpiloxulu5728 yeah I missed that, vigi also said it's an intro
Scoop 😂😂😂 ningamagqwirha, niyathakatha ninomona and that is true in a funny way, simnandi kodwa IsiXhosa rhhaa and Wow😍😊 Cosmo is Xhosa.

Stop interrupting Ms Cosmo!!!!!
And scoop does it with aggression ey.
@@billyprince8982 Bruh😳 Kore we must always listen to him??? Haibo
what scoop said about cultural appropriation is very stupid, even saying costa knows black peoples pain.
how is us speaking English cultural appropriation?? we are a colonised nation for crying out loud
I also died when they said the English thing!
@@mpiloxulu5728 bruh !!😂🙌
His wearing an Oakland A's cap with Minnesota jersey! that's like wearing a chiefs cap with pirate jersey what did you expect? Lol a misguided charlatan of note that one.
@@kgomotsoseleke57 😂😂😂
And even the weave thing. It isn't appropriation when balck women wear weaves because weaves have no cultural significance. But braids do. They have historical meaning and that's why black women feel the need to protect it. There are million breeds of Africans, we come in all shapes and sizes. There are some Africans that are born with "weave like" hair. But i guess if you don't know, you don't know.
vigi looks high looool, no love loss b ig homie and Much respect to the wisdom.
Why doesn't the Popcast channel have a profile picture 😭😭😭
So now we can no longer download and watch later.. 🤔
I wonde rif the guy that made the John vuligate song cleared the sample he used from the movie
I like how scoop just shuts out of know where 😅
Is it water on a dolphin's back...or duck(there's a Zulu saying about the duck's back) is it dolphin in English?
