No one is covering this! Thank you so much! I been wondering what the progress looked like. I am worried what a housing crash would do to this project. As many cancel development outright.
Your passion for this stuff is contagious. I had long forgot that I had watched your original video on Cotino (because the project is fairly irrelevant to me) but I watched the whole of the video and this one too just like I watch your others on projects I have greater interest in because of the vibes you create by how into it all you get. Keep having fun out there!
I remember your first time out there, but didn't you go out and walk around the whole perimeter on a very hot 🥵 day? Its hard to believe it's been 2 years ago! Great to see them starting to get things ready to build!! I love the excitement in your voice...thanks for this update!!! Yes, I care!!! 👍👍
There are so many problems with this project: - Have we forgotten California's droughts? And we are building even more houses and a man-made lake in the middle the dessert? - Walt has always been obsessed with transportation. Monorail. People Mover. Railroad. Yet, we are building more detached single family houses that is only accessible with cars. You would think if Disney is going to slap their name onto a residential project, it would somewhat resemble the original EPCOT idea. - Without the Disney branding, these houses probably won't sell for more than $1.5m. Disney slap their name on the project and now houses start at $2m. As a Californian, this is quite triggering. We were told to use less water, take shorter showers, wash our cars less, flush the toilet less, while we keep on building golf courses and man-make lake in the middle of the dessert.
I’m a local resident to the Coachella It’s exciting how much the valley has grown in the past 5 years I would have never imagined a little piece of Disney would be here in my hometown
Brickey, keep these vids coming! I've watched every video you've dropped this year and Im looking forward to all the other vids. No one else is talking about Cotino only you. This is why I watch your channel bcuz no one gives us Disney content like this!
Great update. Congratulation on your Anniversary. That first building might be the Fire Station? I know up here in Northern Cal that when a new development gets built and there is not a Fire Station nearby that will get built first.
I LVE HERE and im so exited for it to be finishes and open , i love Your video ,. thanks for the sneak peak ,,, i love how exited you are about this so Amazing !
You may be on to something because that building is not listed as anything in the site map. Clearly, some infrastructure that they didn't feel like they could up-sell by adding it to the guide.
Another great video with brilliant, original and relevant content. Love your insights and cannot wait to see you follow the journey of this development. Happy Anniversary to you and Beth x
I totally agree this Resort part is going to be huge success ! especially since a lot of Disney fans in Northern California,Vegas and LA don’t want too fly too Hawaii for a Disney beach resort experience but will definitely drive a few hrs or take a short flight too have the same level experience as they do in Hawaii
Is almost forgotten about Cotino. Perfect time for an update . I'm not really a fan of the desert... , I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere. But this looks intriguing. Might be a nice place to visit, but wouldn't want to live there!
Your work is always great - fun and informative - but that you’re including Cotino? Genuinely amazing. And thank you. Looking forward to more and visiting when it’s ready! Cheers …
Thanks for coming out here and covering the progress going on. I live 15 minutes from Cotino and drive by it often so being a Disney fan I too can't wait to see the finished product. Take care Brickey!
🎉🎉Cotino update🎉🎉 I had almost forgot about this project. Thank you so much for this reminder and update. It’ll be interesting to see how far it goes up.
@Hey Brickey! I was born and raised about 5 minutes from the future home of Cotino and I drove that stretch of Monterey daily for about 26 years of my life. Monterey is already terrible with traffic... Add snowbirds, it is a nightmare.. The area around it too is also just boring. It is across from Lowes and not too far from a not so good area of the desert.. The wind is also going to be miserable for anyone that chooses to live and visit. It is consistently blowing wind on that spot as it is right at the end of the wind tunnel in the valley. I could go on and on. Not so keen on this project coming down the street from me but oh well!
Thanks for the update! ❤ we drove past in the winter and were also really surprised how large the development was. Looking forward to seeing the lake! 💙
COTINO stroll, been a long time! Were you surprised more development hasn’t been done? I always wonder if development is waiting for more buyers deposits to come In to help fund it. Thanks for the re visit
While I did not have any interest in this when it was announced. I have kept up with every video you have covered on this and your enthusiasm about it is contagious. I hope you continue the coverage. Crazy that it has been 2 years already.
Hey Brickey, I have a question for you. Most people hear Disney resort and their mind goes to either Anaheim or Walt Disney World, understandably, but obviously Disney has other resorts, specifically Hilton Head, Vero Beach, Aulani, and now they’re building Cotina. Other than Aulani, these are all within a car ride, maybe a long car ride, but even so, within driving distance of one of the two major US resorts so my question is, do you think that Disney will ever build resorts that are not within driving distance of the two parks? Specifically, I live in Colorado and I’ve always thought it would be great to have a Disney run resort in the mountains, but do you see them ever doing something like that from a business and design standpoint or do you think they pretty much want to stick to more familiar territory?
Nice coverage. Happiest of anniversaries to you and Beth. Maybe I’ll eat my words and glad you’re excited, but it’s hard to reconcile a lagoon in a desert. Enjoy the coverage though…you’re on it, as usual. 👏 Glad to see you so excited and having fun on your anniversary. ☮️
I didn’t know the “storyliving” was going to include a resort but it makes sense. Considering your interest in this project I’d love to hear if you’ve been to Disney’s resort at Hilton Head and Alani in Hawaii. Or perhaps that’s in the future for you?
I have been waiting for this update. I love and appreciate that you are covering this. I fall into “this is too expensive for me” category but you taught me I may have an opportunity to enjoy it. I really like the vibes of Aulani, so I am A-OK with a resort only experience. It makes me wonder what Disney will do, if the rumors are true, with the land here in TX. I hope this project is a success.
You must’ve been reading my mind… I was just wondering what was happening with this. And yes. I don’t see it surviving because the houses are priced for a market that excludes a lot of people. My hubby and I make an above average living and we couldn’t afford one. It’s kinda sad.
Thanks for covering this! My big question is just how does Disney intend to maintain a man-made lake in the desert? With all the droughts and water conservation efforts that routinely are put into effect, I just can't see them properly being allowed to have a lake be maintained at the level they would want/ need for their guests and the community they are wanting to entice.
Thanks Bric…can I call you that? (Feels good and easier to ipad-type) That wall feels like a modern “Berm”. Had not heard about a hotel?? Not expecting a “Resort” either. Appreciate you being on the pulse✨👍
2 years????!!!! Where did the time go! Funny when you think about how quickly Disneyland was built and where this project currently is...thanks for the update!
This came up today at lunch with my parents since (apparently) Disney has acquired 9k acres between Jarrell and Salado. So EVERYBODY is either utterly dismissive of the idea that is actually happening (it’s one of those rumors that crops up every 5-10 years apparently) or convinced they’re making “another Disney World”. The whole Ranch is about… 2/3 the size of the “developed” area of WDW? I dunno, but HMU if/when you fly into Austin to cover it!
I enjoyed living in Palm Springs for a while, so this is fun to follow…as you do so well. Wow…just getting to the 21 years part🎊. Us too, at nearly 25 years with my man-mate.
Awesome coverage of a little talked about Disney development! It does seem weird that Disney is becoming a real estate developer instead of putting that effort into expanding/fixing the theme parks. I feel like the Imagineers' time, attention, and skills could be better used for attractions instead of designing houses.
Interesting to see this phase of Disney. Why not have a very nice place to live and be in the dessert. If people have the means and interest to live and visit said location, Great! They have the right to do so as anyone else, anywhere on the planet. The designs looks as though to highlight the environments splendor. As 4 a body of water in the dessert? Doesn’t get much better than that 😀. I would love to jump in the water or just be along side it lounging on a hot blistering desert kind of day (Oasis). Sign me up 😄
This feels very much of the other Bob’s era. I’m intrigued and curious, but not feeling this for whatever reason. But I am here for your takes Brickey.
So living across the street will probably increase your home value, and you know your neighbors will have immaculate properties, but it’s in the desert🌞 that doesn’t bother me because I live somewhere a little bit similar, but that’s why I probably won’t visit because I want to go where it’s not the desert.🌵
Ahhh the comments section.... CA needs more houses. CA also doesn't have a ton of water. But no western state does. So what should we do? We should conserve water and build houses. Done.
Something odd going on over there ! Where will they get enough water to fill that lake? No Disney park within close driving range? What sort of Disney fans will want to live there?
Hi Brickey, I live right next to Cotino and drive by it every day and could have saved you a drive and filmed the whole thing! Hit me up - I can help and get updates for you! I am happy its coming here right next to me and having something there will help with the blowing sand from that space..The sad news as I have had to drive from here to visit Disneyland for 20 years!!! Cheers.....(EDIT) I did watch your first visit here and your hot walk around the space - I feel for you.
I didn't even know this was a thing! As for the residents across the way, im sure it is a half love hate relationship. Love, the value of their Holmes will rise, with the million dollar purchase price, but hate, that it is Disney and what it may or may not entail. But, who am I? I could be completely wrong.
No one is covering this! Thank you so much! I been wondering what the progress looked like.

I can always count on you for obscure Disney content! More Cotino updates please! 😄
Congratulations on your anniversary! Cheers to another 20 years! 🎉
I remember the first video you did at Cotino. Your enthusiasm is contagious, made me want to take a drive to the desert!! Thanks for the update!!
I remember your first time out there, but didn't you go out and walk around the whole perimeter on a very hot 🥵 day?

Different rules for different people :(
I’m a local resident to the Coachella
It’s exciting how much the valley has grown in the past 5 years I would have never imagined a little piece of Disney would be here in my hometown
I’m fascinated by this! Thanks for covering it. Please keep updating as things progress.
Thank you for covering this. It's been a minute since anyone talked about it. Happy Anniversary to you and Beth.

Dude - you are killing it with your content!! Thank you for covering this.
I’ve lived in Vegas my whole life so the desert doesn’t scare me.
I LVE HERE and im so exited for it to be finishes and open , i love Your video ,. thanks for the sneak peak ,,, i love how exited you are about this so Amazing !
Wondering if that first building is a fire station? Would make sense to have that in place first?
You may be on to something because that building is not listed as anything in the site map. Clearly, some infrastructure that they didn't feel like they could up-sell by adding it to the guide.
I’ll definitely stay at the hotel. Love the desert 🌵 and Disney. See you there.
Love these videos! Love construction updates and no one else is doing it like you, awesome!
Another great video with brilliant, original and relevant content. Love your insights and cannot wait to see you follow the journey of this development. Happy Anniversary to you and Beth x
I was wondering what was going on with this community. Thanks Brickey
Thanks for the vid, how do you think this will affect 29 palms?
I totally agree this Resort part is going to be huge success ! especially since a lot of Disney fans in Northern California,Vegas and LA don’t want too fly too Hawaii for a Disney beach resort experience but will definitely drive a few hrs or take a short flight too have the same level experience as they do in Hawaii

YES. I like this future. Let's go.
Just subscribed and I want to thank you for all your coverage and yes please more on this specific resort
This is pretty historical reporting. Thanks for documenting history!
🎉🎉Cotino update🎉🎉 I had almost forgot about this project. Thank you so much for this reminder and update. It’ll be interesting to see how far it goes up.
Congratulations and Happy Anniversary!
Congratulations on 21 years 🎉
And yeah, Ready to do DesertDisney….copyright, me. We will be there for a resort✨
Wow, big difference since last time you’ve been there! Can’t wait for more updates!
Cool. I’ve been wondering about Cotino recently. Thanks for the update.

Oh wow! How exciting! Thanks for keeping us updated on this project. I could totally see Shag hanging out at one of those mid century mod homes. ❤
I have NEVER heard of this! And I thought I was up to date on everything Disney. Thanks, Brickey!
Thanks Mark! Love to learn more about this! Wondering if Disney will include a non-park DVC resort...as they have three now.
Happy Anniversary ! I’m totally interested in following the progress of Cotino. Two years went by fast the earthworks and buildings are looking good.
Thanks for covering this! I had no idea this project existed
I didn’t know the “storyliving” was going to include a resort but it makes sense. Considering your interest in this project I’d love to hear if you’ve been to Disney’s resort at Hilton Head and Alani in Hawaii. Or perhaps that’s in the future for you?
This was good and super engaging, this is where you shine! nice job! The podcast on WDW News was awesome that's where I first learned about your work.
If Brickey is witty about Cotino wait till Disneyland Forward starts to get built! 😂
I have been waiting for this update. I love and appreciate that you are covering this. I fall into “this is too expensive for me” category but you taught me I may have an opportunity to enjoy it. 🔥 Love for Brickey ❤

Is that going to be a hotel or a DVC?
Also, have you been to Bob Hope’s house? I’d love to see that in person.
Honestly never even heard of this before. Looks neat, where is it? Kind of looks like Palm Desert or something
Thanks Bric…can I call you that? (Feels good and easier to ipad-type)
That wall feels like a modern “Berm”.

Congrats on your anniversary! Our 17th is in June. 21 years is amazing!
I received an email from them the other day. Will be interested to see how successful this will be. Wonder if they will limit rentals
I live in Joshua tree and I'm always in that area for shopping, I was out there today and it was windy as always lol, Awesome report
They should build a trader sams there 😊
I enjoyed living in Palm Springs for a while, so this is fun to follow…as you do so well.
Wow…just getting to the 21 years part🎊. Us too, at nearly 25 years with my man-mate.
Congrats to 20 years and to being one of the first temporary inhabitants of Cotino.
Awesome coverage of a little talked about Disney development! It does seem weird that Disney is becoming a real estate developer instead of putting that effort into expanding/fixing the theme parks. I feel like the Imagineers' time, attention, and skills could be better used for attractions instead of designing houses.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!
I’ve never been this early in my life.
Happy Anniversary!
I was wondering what was going on @ this place.
Back at cotino?
"If you ain't first, you're last"
So does this make him Brickey Bobby? 😂
Is this like the revenge of Celebration?
It's just so insanely expensive and it so hot out there.
the neighborhood where i lived at last was designed by the son in law of walt disney! close but no cigar lol
Interesting to see this phase of Disney. Why not have a very nice place to live and be in the dessert. If people have the means and interest to live and visit said location, Great! They have the right to do so as anyone else, anywhere on the planet.

Congrats bro

I’m super early! 🎉🎉🎉
I have complained for years now that DVC has no California benefit. This? Is gonna be a minute.
Been waiting for this since you mentioned it the other video
Storyliving just sounds like more Joshy Jargon Word Salad. I hate empty "Disneypeak."
Walled "communities" are obnoxious.
Starting price is $1.75 million.
So is this like what EPCOT was supposed to be? A Disney government?
Ahhh the comments section....
CA needs more houses.
CA also doesn't have a ton of water. But no western state does.
So what should we do? We should conserve water and build houses. Done.
it'll be successful, Im a specifier, we are working on the common spaces for this project.
@@NancyMcDowell-d2q can’t wait to see it completed
This is the next step after Aulani. It took them much longer than I thought it would.
This is crazy I dud not know about this project
Something odd going on over there ! Where will they get enough water to fill that lake? No Disney park within close driving range? What sort of Disney fans will want to live there?
The area is a square mile. Congrats on your 21st anniversary.
Hi Brickey, I live right next to Cotino and drive by it every day and could have saved you a drive and filmed the whole thing! Hit me up - I can help and get updates for you! Cool
And in black again you could almost say back in black🤣
Can anyone can buy a house
Oh wow that’s in the middle of nowhere
I’ve seen a few videos of Cotino, but nothing as revealing as this. If I could afford to live there I’d move on down.
Palm Springs incorporated
Nobody else is doing cotino content
I didn't even know this was a thing!
