It truly was, still can't really get over it! Fishing is always full of surprises, most of the times that means snagging a tree 😂 but occasionally it's an incredible fish like this. Cheers for the kind words Tim :)
You know what, Tom, I think a filmmaker that learns how to fish well makes better content than stellar fisherman that learns to make youtube content. You prove that good storytelling and videography is more important than the size of the fish caught. I am a jealous individual and seeing other people pull endless giants makes me resentful, for instance i can't watch Ginger fisherman.
Haha, thanks for the kind words Chris. I'm an average angler at best, but I hope that makes my content relatable, and when I eventually do catch good fish, even more of a high!
Really cool video! If it's possible it'd be really interesting to see the unedited underwater footage of the fight with the monster pike from beginning to end.
Thank you! I'll definitely consider posting that, there's a lot of the camera shaking around where you can't see all that much, but it is fascinating to watch.
Ive seen you on Carls channel, thought Id give this a watch and it didn't disappoint! The look on your face holding that superb pike at the end was priceless and thoroughly deserved, i thought you where going to burst into tears at one point through pure joy, great stuff keep it up the good work 👍
Watched a couple of your videos now and really enjoy the story telling. It’s what most people seem to lack. You draw me in to the point where I felt the emotion of you catching this pike with you. Keep the content coming 👌🏼👍🏼
Tom I have said this before and will say it again…. You know how to make an exceptional film and the passion at the end showed how hard you’d work. Well done!
Keep going Tom!! I love the content!! And the quality of it is amazing 10 out of ten!! Much better the 90% of the other content out there on RUclips!! I follow you and Carl and have much respect for the both of you!! You make me want to pick the rod up again as its been about 4 years now since my last just havnt been able to get back on the water. Keep it up 💯👍😁
Tom that was a really great vlog with awsome story telling and editing. That Pike was stunning, one of the best that i have seen..........Congratulations.
@tomwilshaw I have the opposite problem, I'm a better angler than a film maker 🤣 I bought just a £100 water wolf camera to get some footage of little 8 ounce arctic char. (Also 90lb braid)😏 I can't imagine chucking those cameras you operate with I can feel your pain with every cast.😳🤣🤣
Absolutely love seeing the underwater footage! It shows the hidden side of it all. I’m fishing that same lake for the big mirror and common. Might have to get an underwater camera for that 🎣
Bro fly out to Maryland and we will catch some crazy things out here haha insane video came over from TikTok because of that insanely edited clip, edits are top notch dude!
What a beautiful big fat mama! Congratz Tom, happy I discovered another amazing fishing channel! You got my sub and apologies I might steal your idea cause my Insta360 is laying in my locker for a year now with no use haha!
Haha hey feel free!! The more time you have it down there, the more you learn about how the fish behave around your fishing tackle - Loads to be learned!
That'll teach you to always do the net first LOL. Interesting it was resting on weed so quite visible to the fish. My mates been out several times in the past weeks and all his dead bait Pike catches have been on popped up baits. I would certainly consider it if I went back to deadbaiting. Great video and excellent footage of the take. ATB MMMD
Ha you know it!!!!! Popped up baits is a tactic I've only recently become aware of, they definitely give you a lot more confidence that you're better presented, something I'll be doing more of in the future that's for sure :)
I was about to say that your pike was not quite the monster as said in the title and then..... I saw the video had not finished yet, an absolutely beautiful fish. Congrats on the fish!
Congrats Tom. The expression on your face when you lifted it off the mat says everything about how special a fish it was.
It truly was, still can't really get over it! Fishing is always full of surprises, most of the times that means snagging a tree 😂 but occasionally it's an incredible fish like this. Cheers for the kind words Tim :)
Mindblowing video man, that shot is next level and let’s not even talk about that pike. Hats off from Sweden! 🙌🏼
Thank you so much guys! Big fan of your own videos!

I like the meditative passion you have for fishing. I hope to to being able to watch many more of your videos in the future.

Those final moments say it all, even though your own words wouldn't come out lol.
I was at loss of words for once.. Truly didn't expect anything like it!
The emotions on your face when you caught that 26lber, priceless!!

I’m surprised I didn’t! Never expected it for a minute, still overjoyed - Thanks for the kind words :)

Thank you so much, that's an awesome compliment! I will :)
I see this man having a TV show VERY soon. This is so cool, and very well filmed.
Haha I don't know about that, but I'm extremely happy you enjoyed it :) Thanks!

Fantastic work tom! I did not expect this video to end with a 26 lber! That’s a wildly big pike dude. Congratulations
Cheers Joey, yeah neither did I to be honest haha!! Not a PB I'm breaking any time soon, thanks man :)
Awesome idea with the 360 camera , I use the water wolf for trolling for pike and Ferox 👍🎣
Some of the strikes I've seen from that camera are insane, definitely a bit easier to cast too!
such a cool video so much hard work thankyou for such cool experience!
Super kind words, thank you and you're most welcome!!
Now that's what I call Amazing footage Chap. Respect
Cheers Jason :)
That’s some serious equipment for some lakeside fishing!
Hahaha, yeah a bit much really!!!
Saw the tiktok and went straight to RUclips. Congrats on the shot and the fish! Amazing video my man!
Thanks so much!!!!!!!!
Just had to see the full thing after watching the Tiktok! This whole video is so visually stunning. Absolutely well done! ❤
Thanks Emma
. Willen and caldecotte. Both fantastic lakes.. caught many a good fish there in the 90s..
Something to try to liven up pike is to throw a slow sinking lure around you spots , it sometimes will trigger them to take your dead bait .
The way ur able to use your gopro subcamera is always inspiring
It's some awesome tech, definitely makes the fishing side a little harder, but worth it!
Puts a smile on my face! Congrats!!
Thank you :)
Tom that was a really great vlog with awsome story telling and editing.
That Pike was stunning, one of the best that i have seen..........Congratulations.
I'm still overjoyed, the black and gold markings on it were something else.. Thank you :)
That was a quality bit of film-making congrats
Thank you :)

Those might be two of the best fish in the country right now… Good luck to you :-) and yes! It’s definitely intriguing seeing how spots change.
@@tomwilshaw I’m lucky that I’m just down the road from the lake and can keep the bait going in to keep them in the area 🎣
Amazing video lad 🎣👊
Cheers! 😁
Epic fish! Well done, mate. Well done indeed.
Still made up, it was truly an amazing moment - thanks you!
Excellent vlog, and well done
Thanks Raymond :)
Try attaching a small float to the camera and have it that the weight breaks away when line snaps so camera can float up if your line snaps
amazing work tom 😉
Cheers Jake! :)

Well done 👍
Thank you :)
I was about to say that your pike was not quite the monster as said in the title and then..... I saw the video had not finished yet, an absolutely beautiful fish. Congrats on the fish!
Haha, the other one was a baby in comparison!!
It's like RUclips River Monsters. But the fighting with the fish only takes 20 seconds.
It was super strange how quickly this one came to the net, a real gentle giant!
Perseverance and pickles 👍
Amen!
Great content again Tom, might be an idea to get yourself a bait boat instead of casting that camera out again
Ha, there's an idea!!!! Thank you for the kinds words :-)
@tomwilshaw loved your reaction to the big female at the end, no words can describe that feeling when you land a big hen
Great catch . What sort of camera was you using. 😊
Cheers! The underwater camera is an Insta360 :)
