Are the 2021 manuals good enough to practice with? I am basically trying to teach myself. 😬 Just started watching your videos!!! Thanks for all that you do!
Thank you for sharing. I just so happen to be that student who is 3 months away from finishing this community college semester and then taking the Certified exam(s). I see now that it’s not advised, but would it still be possible to achieve some sort of success in a 3 month time frame, or have I made a mistake - are such success stories out there, or is it just wishful thinking at this point?
@@MedicalCodingwithBleu Thanks for the response. I intend on taking the exam once Program finishes unless unforeseen circumstances arise. As a whole, it’s a bit more than a 3 month program. It consist of just two semesters. One semester this past summer that introduced ICD-10-CM (end of May/June to July/early-August) and one semester that I’m currently in, which introduced all the other coding manuals (end of August to early December) However, due to bookstore delays the procedure manuals are just starting to become available - hence, 3 months before semester comes to a close.
@@MedicalCodingwithBleu I have just come across the idea of different certifications but I haven’t considered one specifically. After the Instructor goes over more about this I’ll have a clearer picture soon. I didn’t know it could be possible to sit for one over the other, or is it something like all the certificates are available for choice after just taking one overall exam? But anyhow, in this case, would you recommend one over the other?
All you need is 1 certification. You can choose from CCA, CPC, CCS-P, CCS. In my opinion given the limited information I have and that you don't know which one you want to take, it is highly unlikely there will be a positive result if you test so soon. But, I don't know you, however, I do know the field. That's too much. If they're offering the CBCS and you want to do that one, no one asks for that certificate. You're better off taking what you learned in such a short time, augmenting your studies ( the independent study video with all the materials is in my videos) and testing when you have a more realistic idea of what you're getting yourself into. Just my advice anyway. Good luck to you on your journey.

Please clarify:
Are you saying you're in a 3 month medical coding program?
Or
Are you taking your exam after your program finishes?

Ok, which certification are you sitting for?
