This is exceptional. I'm a seasoned coder and CPC-I and the CCS has always been on my bucket list. Coding is all about critical thinking. You have to be able to figure things out folks. Thank you so very much Bleu.
I can attest to Bleu's recommendation about no shortcuts, the same test integrity (everyone has a slightly different exam) is also utilized by the AAPC. (Former AAPC VP and test facilitator)
I am deliberately waiting for this test. I'm happy for the update... watching the video: I don't think the year matters if the exam is the same. When the exam changes, then it makes it a little different.
This is very helpful I am about to sign up for the CCS exam I barely passed the RHIT and that put me in my coding journey so I’m feeling nervous about the CCS.
You get to take the books with you for the CCS, so that should give you some comfort. The RHIT is all what you can remember and recall, so the stakes are different. Just keep practicing, you'll get it.
It is not supposed to have the questions that are going to be on the test. Do your due diligence …study… We are so used to getting everything so fast and look where we are… sick, fat, obese, unhealthy, depressed and more. Let’s go back to old school. Read, memorize, take pride in the work you put into this journey. The world we live in has made us lazy
Besides how many hours you're supposed to study, how long should one study before consider taking it? I'm starting a new position and they're expecting me to study and pass it within 90 days of my start date, which I'm finding intimidating.
Everything you just mentioned Bleu is what needs to be studied for the CCS exam. Why do some coders took the CPC first before the CCS? I am finishing up my second year to start next week and so ready to get it over with and do the exams. Thank you so much!!
I passed my CCS exam on my FIRST time. This is HUGE because I have testing anxiety!!! Thanks so much for your advice.
What Did you use for your preparation?
What materials did you use to study?
@@pedrorosales7259 congratulations!
May I know what school did you go to?
I’ll sit for the exams in June. I am deep in studying. Passing with great scores on my tests. I still feel the drive to master the knowledge.

Hi! I’m having to self study for the ccs exam could you please give me some tips on how to study well? Thank you !
Hi Bleu
How long did you wait to take the CCS exam after obtaining your CCS-P credential?
I'm assuming that all it takes is a high-school diploma to sit for the CCS too.
How can we practice without scenarios of a office visit? Where can we find them for examples to do ICD-10-CM, CPT, ICD-10PCS and HCPCS?
The video is literally about this questions. I know I said to look in the description box for the workbooks.
Do I need to take all 13 courses from AHIMA in order to pass or just studying the books will help?
Are icd-10-pcs questions on the CCS exam? My class didn't cover icd-10-pcs. and it doesn't say I need that book.. :/
You can find that on the AHIMA website.

Hi Bleu I’m starting out on a journey and want to know in what order do you suggest studying these books
Everything you just mentioned Bleu is what needs to be studied for the CCS exam. Why do some coders took the CPC first before the CCS? I am finishing up my second year to start next week and so ready to get it over with and do the exams. Thank you so much!!
Because they don't know better. All you need is one credential to start.
What would you say the avg. cost for all the study supplies and books you need to sit for the exam? Like 1800k you think?
Not that much
