Hey! If you go to settings on Java Minecraft when you open it up on your computer scroll down to where it says Minecraft: Java Edition Settings press on "show historical versions of Minecraft: Java Edition" you'll be able to find it and press on it and you'll have the older versions of Minecraft! after that go and press Minecraft as if you were gonna start it up and go to installations and press any version you want.

The best way is to use the 3rd party launcher Betacraft which fixes all the issues with skins/sounds
