We are getting a similar model for our bathroom remodel. moving the shower to a different wall, but this product looks like a retrofit. is there a version for new construction or does it matter? Also, I cant figure out how the diverter works on this thing! is there more going on inside the rail? I cant see how you stop flow to the shower head when the handheld is selected! Thanks for the video, very informative.

kevinvw10 this is an upgrade to your existing showerhead. you don't have to blow out the wall and replumb to fit this. but when i remodel this bathroom from the studs up I plan on raising this shower head up about 6 inches. I'm not tall and a person 6' or taller person wouldn't fit under it. I will use this same rail and mount to a raised plumbed pipe and attach all the same. At 15:15 of the video you see the control. The very bottom you connect your hand held shower head to, just above that is the control or diverter valve. it has the metal dowel looking thing. You turn that to use the rain head or hand held. Hope this helps. Thanks for viewing

thanks for the quick response. we have to move the wet wall anyway so the walls are going! what I was wondering on the diverter is how it actually works internally... if the column is just a water pipe, it seems to me that when you select the handheld, there is still an open path to the head. I'm sure it all works, just curious!

kevin10 you'd think it would due to the valve being at the bottom but no you only have the hand held or the shower head but if you turn the diverter half way they both will work just not a good stream on either not enough water pressure to flow for both.

What did you use for screwing into the fiberglass? I noticed some pink rings, are they anchors?

Yes Allison. Either a #18 or #16 screw with your standard plastic anchor. But this is just temporary for me. This bathroom will be demoed to the studs. I have a new tub that will have tile enclosure. I will say that it is holding up well and is quite sturdy. If your enclosure is fiberglass you could do the same I just didn't want to use the enclosed hardware for just a few months. Saving it till I do the remodel for the final install. Hope this helps and thank you for viewing.

are the two o-ring seals from the adapter enough to keep the water from coming out at all?

+Robert Hwang Strangely yes. I too was skeptical. Think about it though. It only has presure when you turn the knob for shower so no presure on all the time. It has not leaked at all now for 3 months. I know at some point it will need to have them replaced but no different than any faucet in your home. Great question. Thank you Robert for viewing.

what is the length between where the original pipe that comes out of the wall at the top, to where the new pipe is screwed below? and can the distance between the two be adjusted? Trying to figure out if it will get in the way of where our on/of handles are.

Ruth I apologize for the delay was out of country and playing catch up. The distance is 27". No it can't be adjusted. The gusset that covers the pipe is 3" in diameter. Hope this helps. Thank you for viewing

Is that really a 1/2" drill bit?
I am expecting one of these in the mail soon and I have a hard time believing the instructions that I need to drill two 1/2" holes. Great video!

theman yes that's what they call for. Mine was temporary. But if you were to drill into tile, 1/2" is what they suggest. The supplies fasteners are huge. Thanks for viewing

@@TheShackHome Thanks for the reply. I installed mine two days ago and it went well.
Even the hole made by the 1/2" bit had to be slightly expanded to fit the anchors in. In the videos the bit always looked smaller, but I guess the camera just removes some girth from the bit.

Kit this was how to install this hydrodrail product. The handshower is separate but is attaches to the rail the hose attaches to the bottom of the rail where the valve is to transfer the flow to either the handshower or the overhead rain system my daughter used the tub every day for her and my 2 year old grand daughter and absolutely love it. Really glad i installed this system. Thank you for the question and thanks for viewing.
