Great goals Ben & plenty of events lined up. Nutrition is such a tricky one, what works for one race doesn't always work for another, fingers are crossed you find a solution that works consistently for you 🤞
Cheers Martin, looking forward to mixing it up this year with races. Definitely, I've just had a few too many bad experiences with Tailwind now so hoping I can get something worked out with some trial and error!
@@ChloeHamard Thanks Chloe! Looking forward to getting out there this year and focusing a bit more on speed over elevation 🤓 First RunThrough event tomorrow, I know you've done a good number of their races before
As you know Ben I have loved following your journey throughout all of last year. You and Carla both had some fantastic running and personal mile stones throughout last year. Hopefully I will get to see you guys again sometime this year. All the best for 2025 mate! 😎🤘
My main event in 2025 is the SDW100, and it's my first ever attempt at that distance 🤢 I have the Hundred Hills 50k in March and then the London Marathon in April. Once I've done the SDW100, then I'll start looking at getting booked on other events for the second half of the year. I have the Great North run to look forward to in September 😊 All the best to you and Carla on your adventures this year 🫶🏻
Thanks Paul. That sounds like a great year you've got planned with those races. I definitely want to do London at some point if I can beat the odds of the ballot one year! Best of luck with the prep for the SDW100, I may well see you there as I'll be volunteering or pacing 🤓 all the best for the new year
Woohoo, good to see a video from you guys! Good ambitious goals and a nice variety! Interesting what you said about tailwind - I feel that with electrolyte drinks and prefer to just stick with water and get the electrolytes in different ways (gels, tabs etc.). Be interested to see how you get on with that.
@@IRunDaily cheers Ian, yes just looking back and think it's been about 3 months! Tried my first precision gel on a long run today and it seemed to go down ok so just going to keep experimenting and seeing what works. I seem to be ok with high 5 tablets in water for electrolytes but looking at trying out the precision capsules too. Thanks for checking out the vid, hope all's good with you
What a great year 2024 was for you both and the channel. I haven’t been quite as diligent with my plans, in a couple of weeks I hope to pass my EA coaching qualification and like you take on some more runners to build my on my coaching experience, I’d like to work on my 5k pb, already got the Srpingtide 50k in for early April, picked up some harrier poles so need to work out how I can best utilise those in the longer runs, so goals there just didn’t really think about till seeing this video, have a great year both of you, it will be nice to follow along on your videos.
@@garethjones4297 thanks Gareth! Great to hear about your coaching and how you're aiming to build up your experience. Hope it goes well training towards the 5k pb and springtide. I might be volunteering for the springtide, just need to check calendar. You might have seen it already but Kate from Harrier does a great video on using poles. Hope you have a good 2025
Really enjoyed all the videos from yourself and Carla in 2024, looking forward to more in 2025. How do you decide what races you're going to enter each year? Is there a good website you can recommend for finding events?
Thanks James, much appreciated. I tend to have a bank of races that I've spotted over the years and keep an eye on what people I know are doing or what's popped up on people's social media and then make a note of possibilities for the next year as I'm going through the year. For road races though I often use the Find a Race website and the Sussex Races website is really good for local races. All the best for 2025 🎉
Very ambitious goals! I’m looking forward to seeing you crush it!
Thanks Heather! All the best for the new year 🤓

Great review Ben and look forward to your race review of 2025! I’m also doing the South Downs Way 50 mile too!
@@Gez-C thanks Gez. Ah nice one, I'll see you there!
I also have the same issue with Tailwind, good luck with 2025!
Thanks, you too! I liked it at first but just too many bad experiences so probably best to try something else 🤓
Looks like the diary is filling up nicely with a bunch of exciting races! Good luck with the first one coming up and all the best for 2025!

Thanks mate 🙏 And thanks for supporting the channel and our running throughout the year. Hope to see you out on the trails or at an event this year 😄
That’s a nice PB for 5 km.. nice idea getting some fast races in! I loved doing race to the king - great event. A belated HNY ..
Thanks James. Happy new year to you too. Really looking forward to Race to the King, never done it before but heard it's a good one
@ i was just talking about it today. Was my best 100km race to date. (4th!)

Hi Ben. Happy New Year to you and Carla. I enjoyed following some of your runs last year. I hope that you both manage to achieve your goals for 2025.
Thanks Peter. Happy new year to you too, all the best for 2025 and hope you're keeping well.
Looking forward to see you smashing out those road times. Which you have started on already I see.
Thanks both. Hoping to get a bit more speed in there this year to mix it up from the plodding in the mountains!

Great video Ben, looking forward to more content in 2025. If you’re looking for someone to coach I’m happy to have a chat about that and prices
Thanks Robbie! Yes we can definitely have a chat about coaching. Send me your email on here or Instagram and I'll message you
Great review, Ben 👍 I'm looking forward to seeing the 8 minute 50 miler 😂 It'll be really cool when your coaching takes off mate. All the best 💪🏃♂️

See you on the SDW in April!!
