Of course! The artist here expressed a strong inspiration found through Trent Reznor (an industrial music pioneer primarily during the 90s) who can be noted for his excellency in audio engineering, and his use of intensity, volatility, noise, density (you may like to call this depth), unconventional meter, unrestrained variety of instruments and themes of psychic damage, a longing for normalcy and stability, futility and self-sacrifice. Recommended listens could be his "Just Like You Imagined" for an instrumental, or his "The Wretched" for a voiced track. Enjoy ;;
I said before, I'll say it again: Silent Hill 2 is literally PERFECT, and that includes the music, some of the most iconic, original, and unique music I've ever heard among videogames (right next to Halo, which also has some of the most iconic, original, and unique music among videogames). I will never eat those words. That is a fact to me.
@@trenta.958 Even if that's true, Akira made something new and unique from those samples. And every musician/artist is inspired by something. The art of composing and generally speaking creating an art is always a sort of imitation in one way or the other in my opinion.
Sounds like it starts as something you can feel comfortable with then it gives you ambience but yet reminds you of the threat and reality that your in a living nightmare and Pyramid Head is coming for you so run and keep running as he appears dangerously close to catching you hellyeah I love this game and music
Why the fuck is this soundtrack so unbelievably epic
Ikr? It's got such an atmosphere!

This played when Maria put the revolver to her head, but then threw it away at the end of Born From A Wish.
Cool.
I hope we get Born From A Wish in the remake.

0:48 is the best part its so relaxing with a slow yet upbeat drum beat.
Yup. The subtle shoe-gaze element interlaced with the industrial drum beat.
This is like a NIN song.
His music is also considered industrial, so no surprise there I think.
It reminders me the NIN's Deep, but more smooth.
Akira listed NIN as an influence according to Wikipedia
this was actually extremely relaxing to listen to
This is in the cutscene where maria throws away the gun.........
Got a Nine Inch Nails vibe to it.
How so
This sounds like gothic stripclub music
makes sense considering the fact it plays at the end of born from a wish, since you play as maria...
no
When you don't know if the dancer will kiss your mouth, or bite into your neck, or both...
More like church music
Wait, gothic strip clubs are REAL?
Interestingly, If you listen side by side, this tone sounds like the sex/sacral chakra frequency for meditation
When I'm under the pressure of the anxiety, this soundtrack really makes me relaxin' + .+/!
More like AWESOMENESS in the depths of the fog! :D

James...
I wish you could play any of the songs from the soundtrack with your radio while you play the game, this game gives off a one of kind vibe
When I played the game this song didn't play. It sounded like another version of this
it only played for like, a small cutscene unfortunately.
Wouldn't be surprised if the next happy meat farm installment uses this song
Wow oh wow im livid
the conjoining parts of the loop are a little off, but good work
NIN X Akira Yamaoka
sounds oddly quake 64-ish
