- Chinese marque Jaecoo, under the Chery Auto International umbrella, has today begun production of the Jaecoo J7 C-segment SUV which is slated for local launch in the coming weeks. Rolling off the line in a brand-new Chery assembly plant in Shah Alam, the Jaecoo J7 line-off ceremony marked "the first of many" investments into the Malaysian automotive industry by Chery, who envision Malaysia as their right-hand drive global hub.

Elegant yet rugged. Hope the quality and QC on top notch. Best looking China car thus far
Chery has come back strong after previous exit and looking forward for more models to be introduced
I will definite buy J7 if i hv the money.
Waiting for the Jaecoo J8 to be launched.
Pls launch Jaecoo 7 phev version
Jaecoo J7 phev coming soon?
Well done
Nice car…I hope they will produce electric version ❤
Make China great gain
🤣Have you paid copyrights fees to Trump’s Make America Great Again
Wow Jaecoo J7 😍👍🏻
Hoping malaysia would be hub for chery and jaecoo for asean region, producing cars for distribution to the neighbouring countries.
Is this a newly built factory? I heard its the same plant where AMI manufacturing facility used to be
The facility is new to Chery. This area has long had assembly plants, and it's in the same area as UMW Toyota, Swedish Auto Assembly (now Volvo Malaysia), and PROTON.
I m waiting for Jetour T2
Test drove this car, very impressed. But looking forward to the J8’s 2.0T
Me too
It is notably the same powertrain as seen in the Tiggo 8 Pro, but slightly downtuned for less power & torque. So if you've tested a Chery Tiggo 8 Pro, you'll get a rough idea.
fuel consumption for FWD and AWD?
Is there an all electric model?
Nice car .
Aiman pls do comparison jaecoJ7 AWD with Crv AWD. Honest comparison!
China's top companies are investing big in Malaysia. This is a great opportunity for Malaysia.
Kinda wonder whether they fix the noise when the door handle retract back when you start driving.
gonna wait for another batch of this brand / model..
first time heard the term 'semi-knocked down'. I guess the main aim is to avoid high tax if CBU. the plant only doing simple assembly. But ok la for a start
I will wait for jaetour T2.
Is there any news on the hybrid version?
The exact response when we spoke to VP Emily Lek was:
"Our facility here is currently tooled for ICE, but was designed to accommodate BEVs and PHEVs as well. Any additional variants to our lineup will be announced in due course, and we'd be delighted to share it with [the media] when the time comes."
kereta ni guna engine x70 ke?
奇瑞发动机,怎么可能用x70
Hope a comparison between Jaecoo & Range Rover to see who's the boss!
We were not paid to make such content by Jaecoo, hence why we will not be doing that. It is of far greater value to show how the J7 stacks up against other competitors in the same segment.
@@MalaysianMotoring would definitely love to see how it stacks up against the CR-V and the CX-5
Editor...pls note that malaysia is left hand drive.
We drive on the left side of the road.
Our sterling is on the right hand side.
If you have ever seen stickers on LHD vehicles, it will state 'LEFT-HAND DRIVE VEHICLE.' It refers to the side on which the vehicle controls are placed, not which side of the road is driven on. Terminology used in this video is correct and accurate.
We are right hand drive. And it is steering. Not sterling.
How dare you nitpicking our English tutor 😂
Impressive!❤
