Thank you so much for watching!
I use the USPS boxes from the USPS website
Thanks for watching!!! If you like this video check out Huge Golf club haul!!!! ruclips.net/video/_X0dJ_4WF_8/видео.html
It’s May 2024 and I just tried to ship a 38” long 7-iron at the UPS Store, but the cost would be $148. Crazy expensive so instead I went to USPS and they gave me two small priority mailing tubes that I taped together to form one longer tube as the medium mailing tube they said was too short. Then I needed to use the back side of wrapping paper or brown craft paper to cover the box so the priority mail printing was hidden. The final mailing cost was about $35 using USPS ground to ship from Phoenix to Seattle. If I had chosen Priority Mail it was going to cost about $57.
Perfect! Thanks for the excellent informational video. I learned much!!! I sell on eBay full time and shipping golf clubs will now be a lot easier thanks to you.
Awesome!!! Thank you so much for watching and glad it could help.
This video was so helpful! I ordered my saran wrap immediately lol Now I feel comfortable sourcing clubs....Thank you!!
i found its the best way to pack them
Thanks for the tips. I picked up a few clubs for the first time. Your articulate video rocks!
Im glad it was helpful =) Thank you so much for watching!!! =) I hope the clubs sell great for you! =)
I just bought my first golf clubs at a yard sale. Perfect timing in finding this video!
Awesome!!!!! Hopefully it was helpful! :)
Thanks so much for watching
Thank you so much I just wanted to learn about that because I just got golf clubs for the first time and I’m trying to learn more. Great help 🎉
Superb stuff,thanks,John,Troon Scotland
Thank you. That was very helpful.
Nice job. I ship my clubs pretty much the same way. This is going to be very helpful for beginners for sure!
Awesome! I think its the most efficient way ive found so far. Thanks so much for watching!
Ok
I loves this video so helpful. Thank you
I knew if i bought golf clubs to flip, youd have a video on shipping it. Thank you!!
Hey! Use UPS now - not usps
I've been watching you with Nurse Flipper for months and wanted to learn about Golf Clubs so I subbed, Thanks for sharing =)
Thanks for the sub! Thank you so much for watching!
Great Video thanks!!
Thank you , i always use a show box on top , I will try it in your way for next time !
I now have been kinda just wrapping the clubs and lots of tape with the triangle box.
Here's a thought bud and i do realize this is an old video, BUT incase you didn't know. The SMALL TUBE is actually bigger than the MEDIUM TUBE size wise. The med is I think 5x5 and the smalls are 6x6 I believe, or mine were anyway. PLUS the length of both together will fit a long driver with a huge head. Might want to try this, I hope that helps
I use ups now and use 4x4x48 boxes - no longer with usps
@@beardedthriftmachine Julian - is the UPS 4 x 4 x 48 still the way you do golf clubs today? (I know things change every so often and want to make sure I'm doing this the right way... Just listed my first golf club...) thanks 😃
ENJOYED - WE SELL GOLF CLUBS ALSO AND SHIP THEM PRETTY MUCH THE SAME WAY - THANKS
Awesome that makes me feel better I'm not totally off base lol. Thanks so much for watching!!!!
Very useful! Ordered those boxes today and looking forward to thrifting some clubs
Awesome!!!!!! I hope the video helped and you find some good ones!!!! Happy thrifting :) 😃

Thanks! I had a 7 iron to ship out today, was a tight fit but it worked!!
Yea with 6 irons I just bend the cardboard flap and use alot of ebay tape lol
Thanks so much for watching!
On the extra end, I build the cut part around the first box. It'll keep the seam from ripping
yea thats a good idea too. The seam usually does rip.
you are a legend for this
Wow! Thank you, super helpful!!
Great video. Just bought two clubs today.
Awesome!!!!! I hope they sell fast! Thanks so much for watching!
Good info on how to ship the clubs
Thanks mom!!!! =)
Thank you so much for this video! You should do a compilation of all your packing methods!
You're welcome. I will do a Playlist of packing videos: i think I have a couple more. I could definitely do one video with lots of different items too

i gotta work on my box sliding skills, mine breaks all the time lol. But huge thank you for this!!!

Nice. I do the Iron Set a little different, but like how you did it. Nice Job.
Thanks for watching!!!!
I thought you were going to discuss how you send a club by first class vs priority shipping. Any discussion about how to save on the shipping costs is invaluable.
you cant send them first class.....
@@beardedthriftmachineWell still anyways I was hoping you'd cover what options there are for $hipping clubs. I think we can figure out how to pack them.

I realize this video is 3 years old and I've heard that shipping rates were much cheaper back then. I am new to reselling this year and I just bought some clubs, a set of irons and a few drivers. I am SHOCKED at how much I am being quoted for shipping, even USPS ground. Can you please share the most economical way to ship these in 2024? Thank you!
We now use ups
Very helpful - thank you!
=) now with the new change - i use 4x4x48 boxes
Good tips sir! Good video. Love your energy!
Thanks so much!!!!! Thanks for watching!
USPS is more expensive than shipping UPS, but I was told you cannot use a USPS box to ship with other services. Might want to mention this, if I am correct. To get around this, I wrap the USPS box in craft paper and ship UPS. Tremendous savings on shipping that way.
This is older video - I use ups now in a 4x4x48 box - packing is the same though.
You are stealing from the post office. Just because you can get away with it, doesn’t mean you should do it
@@beardedthriftmachine Do you get the boxes from UPS and will they also send them free to your house?
I went up to a local golf course where my son works today and asked the guys if they could hook me up with some of their golf club boxes that they discard. Kid came out with two Titleist boxes so I can now ship the Callaway driver I sold last night. 👍
Still learning the tricks of shipping and labeling and weighing etc at home and shipping. I look through your other videos but very interested in any free boxes or shipping materials like tape, labels or shrink wrap you may have found?
Thanks really helpful!
@@craigmitchell1993 I think he buys 4 x 4 x 48 boxes from Uline now...

Hi BTM, just found two USA Kids Golf Clubs at Goodwill this past Saturday. One is a 3 driver RH and the other is an 8 iron LH. I bought them based on your comments that people pass them by and you always pick them up to sell. Just watched this video on how to ship since I have not ever shipped any golf clubs. Thanks for making this video - I learned a lot. I am wondering how much weight do you put down for a single USA kids driver or iron when compiling the listing. Thanks and enjoy your videos.
Nice one!! they usually sell fast. I put they weight 2 lbs
thanks so much for watching!
great video man, been looking for this for a while! Thank you
Glad I could help! Thanks so much for watching!
Are you using USPS for mailing golf clubs? I notice anything shipping out of region beyond 42" in length more than triples the shipping price using USPS. Example, I live in Chicago, mailing to Florida, if the length is below 42" the cost was just under $10 but once I passed 42" it came out to something like $36. I can't ship cheaper drivers or I will end up paying more in shipping then the item itself. I'd like to find an affordable option to ship longer clubs.
He uses UPS these days. Hope that helps :o)
Have you done an updated video on this topic now that the post office has added a $15 fee to ship anything in their medium tube? Steer people away from USPS for shipping golf clubs. Their prices to ship golf clubs are no longer competitive and you'll lose money shipping at the post office instead of UPS or FedEx.
I have changed to only ups
nice!! thanks for the tutorial!
Thanks for watching!!!
Great, thanks!
thank you and thanks so much for watching!
What about packing a single putter, I would think you want some stabilizing the shaft in the middle. Just tape bubble wrap around the middle like on the ends?
i dont use usps anymore - i use ups - i use a little paper around the head and handle
@@beardedthriftmachineCan you use the USPS boxes like you did on this vid, but send UPS?
@@josephavant8700 no, they won't let you use a USPS branded box if you are shiping with UPS. And they also don't let you wrap boxes in craft paper anymore to cover another brand box...
Very helpful!!!
Thank you. Using plastic wrap i found is super easy for clubs
Thanks for watching.
This helps so much I’m new to flipping and such but I pick putters pretty good for a buck or so I’m like how do I ship this thing
Don't follow this video it's ancient, use UPS ground.
@@FloridaNative59this that really better then the tubes?
@@victoriah.6506 about half the price to ship,

Hey man how do I number them and what is a custom sku? Also where do I get those labels to wrap around the club? Great video thank you so much for this awesome content!
I just use tape to wrap around the clubs. The custom sku is in the description when you post and I just make up numbers as the custom sku
Great info, thanks. Does usps offer Large size mailing tubes to fit entire long clubs?
No. I wish they did 😪
Thanks so much for watching
Can you provide any advice on how to ship golf bags? Do you have a special box? I took the plunge and got one Nike golf bag and then a Top Flite Junior set. Now I'm afraid to list because I don't know how to ship. Any advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated
Of course. I use 12x12x36 boxes off Amazon. Super easy I just plastic wrap them and put them in the box.
Some guys use 10x10x36
@@beardedthriftmachine thank you so much for the prompt response
I am going to say something that may hurt. I used to let my kids pick out golf clubs at the thrift store when they were little or we were on vacation so they could get their energy out beating on rocks or the sand at the beach or chunks of wood. They beat the heck out of those, and I would throw them away if they hit each other or we were traveling home from vacation and let them each pick up another one next time they went to the thrift store. That was probably at least 35 destroyed golf clubs a year because I have 5 kids and they are all grown now.
I am grieving all those potentially great clubs destroyed. 😳 i had no idea!
oooohhhh noooooo LOL thats ok Golf Clubs were made to have fun with. Even if that fun is destroying them.
Thanks for the time saving info! I just photographed, listed, and plastic wrapped my first set of clubs! They're all set to go! 👍🏑⛳
Awesome!!!! You'll love how much Time it saves when they sell! Always job for the first set! Thanks so much for watching and supporting the channel !
@@beardedthriftmachine I ended up getting 4 sets and 2 singles listed. Your video was extremely helpful. Thanks
@@mstemptingtreasures4060 awesome!!! You're crushing it!!! I'm glad it could help! :) 😀
Can you still send packages like your big head drivers in a priority and "normal" box together like that?
@@rummagerescuers813 yes, but one of the whole sets went FedEx in a plain long rectangular box as that was cheaper, $16 from Seattle to Florida that way.
Thanks for this informative video. Picked up 43 clubs to flip. Question do you always ship clubs priority? Do you build ship cost into your price or charge calculated? Thank You Laurie & Dave
One more question on better Irons do you individually wrap so they aren’t touching each other during shipment or buyers of used clubs don’t care 🤷🏽♂️? Thanks
i do calculated shipping and charge shipping and i always use priority for clubs.
When you use that wrap they are tight and really dont move around to cause damage but I have placed paper between wood sets so that tops dont get messed up.
thank you so much for watching!
@@beardedthriftmachine Thanks for replying. Just getting around to listing mine. We appreciate your advice and information.
@@cruikshank no problem. I'm glad it helps and good luck on the flips you'll do great!!!!!!
What is the cost to send the single club? Does it have limits, like will it be more money over a certain length? If so, what length? What do you usually charge your customers for shipping.. I just calculated 2 lbs with the 35" tube.. and it was over 25 bucks to California.. what do you recommend for that to save money? What shipping services do you use to get a discount? I've been using pirate ship which is great.. but a club to California will be expensive.. I think! Thanks for your videos!!
I ship all my clubs ups - anything over 48in seem to go up. Usps is way to expensive to ship clubs since the new rates. Ups is about 10 to 15 at most. I also have buyer pay shipping
@@beardedthriftmachine How do you do that, if your using USPS Priority mail tubes? Do you wrap it and cover up the box? Thanks again, and thanks for replying 👍
@@CountryGypsy1720 no this is an old video - I now use a 4x4x48 box
@@beardedthriftmachine Do u have any info/tips on where to get those boxes, preferably free or low cost? Thanks!
Great video! Where can I find that Saran Wrap handled roller?
I use one from Amazon- I can make a link but it only cost about $10 or so. I think they also have them at wal mart.
Do you ever ship your bag with your clubs?? Just wrap everything in there and ship the whole bag?
How do you calculate the medium priority tubes in eBay so you can print the label through eBay?
the size is usually less then 48x5x4 then and under 2lbs for a normal club
Hi Julian. When selecting service for USPS and your using a medium tube what do you select? is it USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Medium Box?
no - if you are using the tubes its not a special selection its just priority
thanks so much for watching!
USPS let’s you cut and use two boxes with there price fixed boxes?
The tubes aren't fixed pricing - but if you are doing a flat rate - then don't change the box or its no longer a flat rate box.
Thanks for info. Do you have a tip for Shipping tennis rackets?
Yes: I use 2 : 1095 boxes from the usps website. Little bubble wrapping and slide them together.
Thanks for watching!
@@beardedthriftmachine Thank you so much!
@@tamarahine6328 No problem. Works pretty well.
I use a 1092 and a 1095 bc they slide together more easily. I can't take credit though. I learned from others.
Where can we find a seran wrap roller like the one you use here? Thanx for the info!
I get it at wal mart or lowes. I think they have them on Amazon too.
How do you find the best rate?
I now only use ups to ship clubs
Thanks
Hi Mr Beard... Can you let me know what the finished size is that you put for the driver after being boxed? I put 44x8x8 on the one I shipped priority today and it was really expensive. The box I used to cover the club head was slightly bigger than the one you used but not by much. What do you find is the normal pricing for shipping a driver? Thanks and I appreciate your video!
Usually 6x7 and what ever the length is. I've also switched to some 4x4x48 boxes or 5x5x48
@@beardedthriftmachine what does 5x5x48 roughly cost to ship priority? Thank you sir-
@@garrettallen4106 ill have to check but way cheaper the 8x8. That would be an oversized box.
I just got like 30 free clubs... do you have an updated version of this since I know the mailing tubes and USPS isn't the way to go?
I know use 4x4x48 boxes and ship through ups
@@beardedthriftmachine That's what I thought I remembered. Bless you!
@@beardedthriftmachine coming back to say thank you, sold a club and watch again
Wanted to ask if you still ship your golf clubs the same way?
Do you have to ship it priotity if you put in these boxes?

🤣😆😀
What a great informative video! Do you pay for the boxes or do you get them for free?
Those boxes you get for free on the USPS website under medium mailing tubes.
Where did you find the Saran wrap on a swivel stick? And what is it called?
wal mart or home depot in the shipping section - cheap and awesome =)
When you use the 8x6x4 box to extend the usps box, what dimensions do you use on the shipping?
I now wrap that 8x6x4 around the head of the club and like smash it the dimensions of the triangle box.
@@beardedthriftmachine ahh good call, I kept getting really high usps rates when I increase the dimensions by even and inch. Thanks for the help and great content, you got me started buying clubs and it's going really well👍

It doesn’t show up on there site for those boxes
usps - medium mailing tubes
How do you get the boxes for free? My post office charges for boxes.
Get them off the usps website - also free delivery to your house
I just used the USPS box to ship a putter. USPS wants $55 and UPS was $45 to ship from FL to IN. What is going on here? Any suggestions?
Ups should be way way cheaper.... i use 4x4x48 boxes usually less then $12 with UPS
@@beardedthriftmachine I will switch boxes and try. I was shocked at both prices and in a hold until I try this method. No one wants to pay that much for shipping.
USPS raised their prices in April. They added a $15 fee for long boxes. Buy regular long boxes on Ebay or source them elsewhere and ship with UPS. The post office is shooting themselves in the foot; don't use them for oversize or heavy packages anymore.
Do you remember how much it cost to ship that set of irons through USPS?
i have now switch to only ups
What’s the cost to ship for each one?
i dont use usps anymore I use Ups and its $10-13 usually for one club
So you ship it priority
no sorry - i actually need to delete this video - i know only use ups
How much does it typically cost to ship just one iron?
usually east coast $10 west coast $15
Which shipping option should I go with there's no option for tubes?
its priority mail 38x5x6
@@beardedthriftmachine Thanks I sure appreciate it. Great channel btw your videos are a big help.
@@goneracin2285 Thank so much for watching!
Wait how do you ship a golf club tho?
How much approximately does it cost to ship a full set of irons like that?
It's not an over sized package - and iron sets weigh 8 to 10lbs so depends on where it's going. $17 to $30 since I live on the east coat
Thanks for the info! I was considering selling some old clubs but just had no clue. New sub, appreciate the help!

Have no idea. I don't sell on mercari. But ebay 1 club is a 2 lb rate and is not oversized package
@@beardedthriftmachine okay thank you I found out what I had wrong when I made the listing it was standard at 5lb I changed down to two. And it fixed the problem. Also do you include the measurements of the package when shipping the label?

@@beardedthriftmachine okay thanks!
You do this for a living? Full time?
I wonder if any of those packages get rejected for manipulating the box
No. Do yours If so you need to talk to the post master.
