After an intense and joyful day celebrating the Mass and preaching at three services in the Diocese of California, I came home and picked up the NYTimes to relax. When I read the review about Madeline Hollander’s new work of marking various choreographed work, and that this act, “52 Final Bows” was available to view, I shook off the pleasant Sunday afternoon torpor and watched. Enlivening, delightful and emotionally moving. The bows of great characters from iconic classical ballets, and the bows of dance icons themselves - the fondness and love for people and artistic creations so obvious, the humor, the overall affection…such a gift to the viewer (me). And David’s own bows were tender, hopeful and beautiful. Thank you.
