They are NOT at all the same. Great question though as it’s easy to get them mixed up. Identifyy scans RUclips to listen for your song being played and pays you 70% of what they hear if the song is not already monetized. TuneSat only listens and reports you music being played in TV broadcasts. No pay, just info.
Hey Eric, I have a question. I have a CD distributed through CDBaby (I'm with BMI) . A friend wants to use one of my songs from that CD for a youtube video. What should I give them? Would an aiff file from the mastering engineer with the meta data be the correct thing? Or does CDbaby (or any distributer) inject their own metadata when they distribute and i'd need to use their version? I'm tempted to do another mix of the track just for this project as the original was done in 2008 and I've improved a bit since then. Any advice? I'm not exactly clear on the metadata situation. I've also heard you can't put it on mp3 files. thanks for any advice!
Hey Alex, so are you asking because of Content ID? I take it you used CDBaby’s Content ID service? I think CID is more fingerprinting than any kind of metadata.
@@MakeMusicIncome I don’t think CDBaby had content Id in 2009 when I put it in their service and then did the digital distribution thing a few years later. Or am I misremembering? On thinking about it more, I think my question is how does BMI collect from RUclips if I give my friend a track I’ve created for her video? Sorry, I thought I had a quick question!
BMI collects very little from YT. I made about 13 cents on 650-700 plays last quarter. Content ID is a better bet. Then again, she will have to get HUNDREDS of thousands to millions of views for you to see anything, and that's IF she doesn't monetize the video herself. However you can go into that song or album on CDBaby and turn YT tracking off, and use Indentifyy or just let CDBaby collect it if anything. BMI will continue paying very little...but you need to make sue it is register it on BMI.
@@MakeMusicIncome ok. I’m looking into identifyy now. She will be monetizing her video as she’s getting close to 20,000 subscribers. Her suggestion is I get my yt channel going to the 1,000 threshold so that when she uses my song I can make income because people will go to my channel…So I’m getting a green screen…
Hey, Eric! Do you think it s ok to pitch already published tracks on some RF platforms to exclusive libraries but once accepted delete them from those platforms? thank you ❤
Hey Eric, I got some question about pond5 especially naming song titles. songs on pond5,their song title is more like serach key words, like (cinematiic inspiring,uplifting....)If you register these songs with PRO or CID ,the title must be the same right? (cinematiic inspiring,uplifting....) and for another version,(cinematiic inspiring,uplifting....shortB) thats not ridiculous? Do you do that to your songs? Many users have songs more than 500,And I already have more than 200, including Logo, intro, another versions. I wanna know ,If I have the song lets call it ( on the horizon) and this track contains, intro, 10seconds logo, and another version... How you gonna upload it on pond5 and naming them? like (On the horizon intro), (on the horizon logo), (on the horizon another version)? And How do you register it to PRO and content ID? just register the whole( On the horizon), and can you sell it seperately on pond5? If the tiitle contains the keywords, Is it more effective to be found by buyers? sorry for long read,Thanks!
Yes, you seem to have it. On the Horizon, On the Horizon Loop, etc. I only register the main version with my PRO. Pond5 has said in the past they prefer proper titles, not keywords as the title.
FYI, that UK programme you just go paid for, it's the longest running soap opera in TV history and averages 6 million viewers per show. So, er, congrats! :-)
Coronation Street? wow this is a legendary soap opera in the UK, yeah it's been going since 1960!! my mother used to watch it as a 7 yr old kid, she still watches it religiously to this day she's now 71yrs old...
Ive been watching all your videos to prepare for my album release because I only see you at work for 5 mins lol
I am just inspired to write some music by seeing all those placements
Nice! Go get em Arko!
Hey Eric, would you say that Tunesat and Identify are the same? I just joined Identify last month, now I’m wondering if I need to join Tunesat…

Yes, and have done so, as long as they are totally off other libraries and not on Content ID.
That is playing with fire
