Top 5 Deftones song. As good as Adrenaline is, it doesn’t exactly break new ground - but this is the one song that showed that Deftones were primed and ready for bigger shit. It was a sneak peek at what the band was made of, if you will.

And as good as everything else of theirs is...If I had to pick one of their albums that I could keep and never listen to the others ever again - it would be this one for sure. Although that gets tricky. Their follow-up was another masterpiece, but so was the one after that, rinse/repeat. But it's Adrenaline that broke the new ground for all of those others.
@@nickbusch7860 this was nu metal Tool worship. They didn’t really find their own niche until after adrenaline. Deftones hate using nu metal term but hey that’s what they did with that album. Nu metal wasn’t groundbreaking at this point. It was the “hot” new post Seattle sound.
How the FUCK does Chino scream like that? I mean, I can nail Corey Taylors screams to a T, but those shrieky 'cat caught in a beartrap' screams are truly unique and impressive.

Honestly not that hard to do em, at least for me. I just go very high pitch until it enters a sort of whistle state, makes the fry sound very screechy and catlike

Then I went with a patch in my back that day and the concert was vertiginous. The result: the cut recover badly and I have a nice scar. Last week I went for a similar minor surgery in my back and now I'm listening deftones in my house. Cheers.

Fantastic song that sounds like the perfect blend of post-rock and metal. I was listening to Mogwai and Deftones on random and I noticed how similar this was to some of Mogwai's sounds a few years later.
