    I wish people would do this type of video for the more expensive models like the 256 and 384, this is one of the only videos that actually show what you'd see when looking through the unit. Everyone else just talks about the device while sitting at a desk

    • @Bestbinocularsreviews
      @Bestbinocularsreviews  3 года назад +1

      Hi- there is no reason why they can't be used indoors - indeed I tested them indoors looking at the fire place and some of our pets. As for water leaks etc - it just depends on the difference in temperature and how great it is as to if anything meaningful will show up.

    So I'm wanting to view what's in the woods close to the road, but I also want to view across fields. Is there one device that will do both well, or would I benefit more with two devices? With this one being only $400, I have the means to get it, and also one in the $2000-$2400 range.

    • @Bestbinocularsreviews
      @Bestbinocularsreviews  2 года назад

      Hi Brad, I would suggest that these will be suitable for both of your uses, that is depending on what you want to see - how large it is and how much temperature difference it would have compared to the environment. But if you are viewing wildlife, especially something like deer, then this would be fine. At any rate you could get these first try it out and go from there id you need something larger for the longer distance stuff.

    so, I'm an avid wildlife photographer, lately... I've become more and more obsessed with owls. There are dense forests near me where I know there are owls, but when you go looking for them, sometimes it's a bit daunting just trying to spot anything in the very tall trees... Would this be a good device for that purpose? I wouldn't be doing it at night because with regular cameras, you really can't take pictures at night (or at least "good pictures")... the trees are oftentimes sooooo tall that the sunlight doesn't even come through (I'm in the Pacific Northwest).

    • @Bestbinocularsreviews
      @Bestbinocularsreviews  2 года назад +1

      Hi Ken, thanks for the question and yes I would say so ,as long as the owl is reasonably large, I am pretty sure you would be able to detect the heat from them at the tops of trees. It would also depend on just how much foliage they are behind and the temperature difference between them and the branches and leaves around them.

    Hey sorry but I have random irrelevant question. I’m into birding and I want to buy new binoculars, my two options are between the Zeiss Terra ED Binocular 10x42 and the Hawke Sapphire ED 10x43 Binoculars, without paying attention to the cost of the two, what do you think would be the best choice? (I know that’s a very vague question. Please help, thanks!)

    • @Bestbinocularsreviews
      @Bestbinocularsreviews  3 года назад +2

      Hi Joseph, thanks for the question, and no worries - it's about binoculars so definitely not irrelevant on BBR :-) It is actually tough for me to answer as I have not tested the Zeiss, so I cannot speak from first-hand experience. If I was you, I would go through the specifications and features and compare them against each other as I explain how to in this article www.bestbinocularsreviews.com/blog/which-binoculars-to-choose-08/ - then choose the one that best matches your needs. I have tried very hard many, many times and failed to get Zeiss to send me samples to test over the years - which considering I am also based in Europe is astounding to me ... you can read what you want into that, but I know that I prefer to deal with a company that is more responsive...

    • @bookas4u
      @bookas4u 3 года назад

      @@Bestbinocularsreviews that is weird considering the fact that you do good indepth reviews, that is something to note. When it comes to the specifics though there isn't too much consider. I have heard an lot about how the Zeiss are great, though I have also heard that something like the monarch 7 is better, but I was mainly curious of your opinions of the Sapphires because you rated the Frontier's the BBR best birding binos 2019, and apparently the Sapphires are just the better version of the Frontiers. Also, thank you for replying! I know you haven't had real experience with the Zeiss but I still think itd be better just to ask.

    • @Bestbinocularsreviews
      @Bestbinocularsreviews  3 года назад +1

      @@bookas4u Hi Joseph, Yes, you are right, I do feel that the Hawke Frontier 8x42 ED X www.bestbinocularsreviews.com/Hawke-Frontier-8x42-ED-X-Binoculars-Review-232.htm is excellent, especially when you factor in the cost. I have also reviewed an older version of the Sapphire ED back in 2013: www.bestbinocularsreviews.com/Hawke8x42SapphireED-113.htm - like the Frontier, I thought they were superb in their class, and thus I have no doubt that the current version will likewise be as good now. Nikon for me has also been another tough nut to crack, yes they make excellent optics, but like many of the big camera companies that also make binoculars, I have always found that they are soo big, it is once again tough to speak to someone when you need or want to. But perhaps that is just me - I am not sure if everyone gets the same treatment :-)
