I finally got around to doing this to mine today. I have had the part for sometime. I was really wanting to take it somewhere and have it done, but after watching your video and a few others, I did this on my own with my son. It took us about an hour, and it all went pretty well. I was so extra nervous and cautious about lining up the pin. We checked and checked, and checked it again. There's a little play in the original device, and we wanted to make sure that the max and min in the play was right in the middle. The other hard thing was trying to figure out for sure which direction to turn the motor to get the pin holes to line up, but we figured it out. Why there did an oil change and it's sounding great and there are not CEL issues, as of yet. Drove it for about an hour after and no issues. Thanks for the great video on this it was very helpful, and surely saved me a few hundred $$ by doing it with myself, and some good tool-time with my son.

Awesome! And you got to spend quality time with your son! I'm glad the video helped. It's sometimes hard to make them because I only know a little about mechanical stuff, and Matt's going 90 miles an hour, and I keep having to ask him what he said, what does that mean because I want the videos to make sense, and sometimes I feel I can't explain things well enough. I'm glad the video helped and that you got to same some money! Thank you for watching!

Mark, I don't own any of the vehicles you've been working on. You and your family seem so nice and your videos are pretty calming (for lack of a better description) that I find myself enjoying the content. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work.

pro tip.. dont use a nail to time the opda when 20 people are watching you replace it at an offroad event... youll feel rushed forget to take the nail out, start the engine and spin the opda around into the block ripping the wires off.. the nail will shear off though

Haha. Yeah, that sounds a little nerve-wracking!

Moron here 😁...I wish I could have seen you crank the engine as the initial step to align the old odpa. Im not sure what to crank/turn over the engine (where thats located).

Hi! I'm checking with Matt to get the exact answer, but he has been working non-stop crazy hours, so I haven't gotten a chance to pin him down and get the answer, but as soon as I do, I'll reply here and let you know. I'm hoping for an answer by the end of today.

@@bradascar1119 I'm glad you found that video and sorry for not replying sooner. Matt got really sick and basically slept all day and then he passed it onto me, and I was sick for 2 weeks. Normally I would try to reply much quicker. Glad you got the answer you needed.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I like to let my personality show through and build a camaraderie with viewers. If short videos without much context are what you prefer, mine probably aren't the best choice. Thanks for watching, and have a great day.
