Sydney Penny, one of my favorites of all time going way back to the Thornbirds. She certainly was perfect in Pale Rider, especially the final scene calling out to Preacher as he rode away. As good a scene as have ever been filmed. Bravo, Sydney!
If it's a Clint Eastwood movie you know it's good!! I can't believe it's been that long!! I'm getting old!! Rest peacefully to all who have passed. 🕊️🙏❤️
Amen Brother. Clint always had a foundational message in his movies that will live on longer than we do. It was always for good over bad, and cursing those who did nothing in the face of bad. "All it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke.
@@Jonno2summit I've been using that saying a lot the past few months but I made it simpler for people who don't know that word. "for evil to exist, is for good men to do nothing." and........"woe unto those who say, Good is evil and evil is good." The Bible.
@@JohnSmith-uy7sv Wow, yeah, you get it. There is darkness and light, and are obviously opposed. They mingle in the twilight and dusk, but in true form cannot mix - like oil and water. You can put oil and water in a blender and they will mix for a while, but it is their nature to oppose each other and separate after a short while. They just come from different worlds, like good and evil. We have experienced the mixture of those 2, both personally and on the lighted stage, and that is the constant norm. But in the end they cannot remain mixed together as they are opposed so much. Oil and water. Good and Evil. I think Clint Eastwood was always calling for the veiwers of his movies to make a choice - to take a stand. To stand for something, but full-tilt and not halfass it. Basically, don't be a pussy in life.
Lots of money, vitamin shots, eats healthy, avid reader, limited exercise, regular body massage ,young woman .Sorry not trying sound inappropriate on the last one…
The real strength of a good man, is feeling that love and protecting it, without ever harming it! As Eastwood rode off hearing the words, I love you preacher! It's his strength, that will find Sydneys heart, a love of her life, by knowing him!
Last spring I saw on Facebook it was Michael Moriarty's 81st birthday. First thing that came to mind - and I actually used this one liner to wish him a happy one - was "Long walk...." I just couldn't resist. Awesome movie, as most of Clint's .
Outlaw Josey Wales made Clint my favorite. Pale Rider was his most unsung roll. Unforgiven may be my favorite. Call me tomorrow, I might change my mind, there are so many greats from this fella.
My favourite film of all time is "the Outlaw Joset Wales", I see it Christmas Day while eating lunch and on my Birthday 1st June EVERY year. Sometimes I slip in an incidental too :)
Wonderful video. Looking at all these great actors and their roles in the film, makes you really Appreciate the importance of the "Casting Directors". A "good" film can turn into a GREAT film with the right people!
The day we lose Clint Eastwood I am going to cry like an injured child! I grew up with that man and have always had a great fondness for him. He's outlived many of this cast even though they were younger than him.
For me those are some of his worst movies. In one the German soldiers' aim is worse than that of the troopers in Star Wars and in the others he wanders aimlessly doing nothing while an orangutan is the star of the show.
Hard to watch the can and loose films knowing what happened to one of those Orangutan's, beaten to death by the trainer for taking a donut, disgusting and if i'd have been Clint i'd of ripped that guy's head off.
Richard Kiel I actually met him in the parking lot of a local grocery store, he had pulled into a parking space next to me in a car that was a retractable roof. He was getting out when I was and I said wow its Jaws! He turned around and smiled. I got to shake his hand. This was like in 2005 or 2006. He family in Birmingham, AL. This was in Hoover AL. He was a really nice guy believe it or not. Most actors you run into them they go the other way.
I grew up on the NW side of Chicago..Carrie Snodgress's family were neighbors of ours..we moved to western Wisconsin in 1973..Sometime during that year, Carrie's mother, Carrie senior, wrote to my mom telling her Carrie was off to Hollywood to become a star..as fate would have it..She met Neil Young & they hadda son together..I have no recollections of either Carrie or her brother John..even tho my brother, Kert played with John as kids..Last I knew, John was still out in California working on Neil's ranch..
When I was a young lad back in the early 60's the show 'Marshall Dan Troop' was my favorite. Watched it in black & white on an old TV set that had 'rabbit ears' antenna.
As the director says, do it this way, do it that way, do it shorter, do it longer, over here, no over there and take after take after take for the blooper reels. And then the director says, cut and that's a rap.
Great post, thank you. Sad to see so many of these stars have past-on. I remember watching Pale Rider, first showing on the day it was released. The good ol' days....
i actually liked the movie that Sydney penny has done and she has done a fantastic job with her character in the movie hidden places, This came out sometime in 2006 it's a very great movie. I like to see Sydney do more movies
In 2016, I drove my son to pick up his wife’s gifts from her baby shower. This was at her grandma’s house. While I was there I spent a half hour speaking with a beautiful lady who had been washing dishes. She was very nice. On the drive home, my son told me it was his wife’s aunt Sidney the actress.

It's sad to see that so many died at such a young age from medical issues. Take care of your health, people. While hereditary conditions can cause things like strokes, aneurysms, and such, scans can detect potential trouble spots. While they might be expensive, having them from time to time may save your life someday.
That was very interesting and I enjoyed seeing where all these people are and I really loved the movie and have seen it many times=Clint never made a bad one~!!
Never, to be honest, a huge fan of Eastwood, I have to admit that the names of either Snodgrass or Penny in a cast list usually had me eager to watch whatever was on offer.
In the very last scene of pale Rider when she tearfully say we love you and then I love you, echoing off the mountains.. it chokes me up every time. She was such a doll then and is a very beautiful woman now ❤ 👍🏻🇺🇸
A very good cast and most of them already had years of experience under there belts and that always helps to make a great movie. You don't see that kind of experience in movies now as much but times change I guess.

Pale Rider is my favorite Eastwood film. I have most of his films and thoroughly enjoy them but I've watched Pale Rider the most.
Clint was older than a lot of the cast but has outlived most of them. Let that sink in.
He takes good care of himself and doesn't smoke etc.
Lots of money, vitamin shots, eats healthy, avid reader, limited exercise, regular body massage ,young woman .Sorry not trying sound inappropriate on the last one…
Shot 6 times in the back as well
No smoking, heavy drinking, gluttony, no drugs etc. That's the way. This is the key.

Glad to see Sydney Penny aged so well...my young heart fell in love with her looks and voice the first time I saw her in this movie 😍 😍 😍
