      Hell, maybe even as random loot on Legendary enemies because 3 years to just get 1 specific effect on all armor pieces is ridiculous. Imagine trying to get 3 perfect effects on each piece, that would probably take around 10 years of playing EVERY single day.

      @@ArturoPladeado would take exponentially more. If you assume, that you need about 1 momth to get 1 specific effect on every armor piece and you need 3 years to get 2 specific effects i would say you may need about 74 years already to get all 3 effects on a full set.
      Just stupid. I also told the same about a specific weapon in the past. At least it is way easier now, since you can already "craft" the stats on the right weapon. But to get the perfect roll the chances are still low as fuck and are getting lower every time bethesda decides to bring new mods.

    Sentinel's PA pieces are bugged (the new ones, apparently the hacked ones aren't). I suspect based on my own tests, that when you fail to proc the 75% chance to resist 15% damage, you instead take full damage that goes through the 40% PA, and emergency protocols and only resists with your raw DR and no migitation. You can see it in your video, sometimes you take big chunks of damage, and this is not supposed to happen, because you can even test it against a lone enemy and he will sometimes do 10-15 points of ballistic damage with a single shot assault rifle even when without any sentinel pieces he can only do 0.5-1 at a time, and this has nothing to do with any sort of "migitation cap", it's just the sentinel pieces. Regular overeater PA will help you defend more against attacks.
    Easy way to test this yourself is to equip all migitation, fireproof, emergency protocols, dodgy, and overeater sentinel and then shoot the ground with an explosive weapon while you're not moving and then while moving, when you stop moving with all sentinel pieces you will take damage, and when you are moving, you won't take damage.

    So ~3-4 years to get 10 out of 15 effects perfected. 5-10 years maybe to get all 15? That shows why they should have made each individual effect to be craftable, nobody is going to put in the effort to get all 15 effects because they will simply give up on it and accept random effects. If they can complete a set to absolute perfect then they will be inclined to start a new set with all new effects. Theres no incentive to get the first set done.

    • @christopherdcrus605
      @christopherdcrus605 3 года назад +2

      Agree with you on the individual stars to be rolled. Also remember it will be 20 effects to perfect when they introduce 4* legendary effects in the future and maybe 25 effects IF they ever introduce 5* legendary effects some where down the line! Meaning literally no realistic way to perfect your items and on the other hand more chance of rolling trash effects which at that point you may as well just roll 2* items which are probably more worth your resources and many 2* items can actually turn out to be very decent. In other words rolling anything above 2-3* will be redundant or more redundant then it is already if your actually looking to perfect your legendary items!

      @@christopherdcrus605 I disagree with 2 star being just fine even if it is with any 1 star being trash. There needs to be a way to get the exact perfect armor and weapon you want. That's a target to keep you playing where you know you will obtain eventually and have 5 characters to do it on and many many alternate kits to build.
      Rolling each star independently allows for an unlimited number of stars to be added in the future and helps invest the players into the legendary crafting to the fullest. You get all 5 characters sorted to have the perfect armor and weapons... Hmm how about them Daily Ops Robot's that kick my butt? A whole new set of armor and weapons to be done for that purpose... On 5 characters. A complete kit for SBQ and only SBQ? Gimme gimme Gimme! Being able to complete a general kit always opens up room for specialized kits to obtain and specialized kits are open ended.
      Bethesda fails to make perfecting a character possible to invest the player into the system on the never ending journey of perfecting every possible setup.

      @christopherdcrus605 3 года назад

      @@JETWTF hey, yeah I totally agree with you in your concept regarding the ability to re roll individual stars. I have been very vocal in Bethesda forums and comment sections explaining several times in great detail ALLL the reasons why the legendary crafting system MUST be changed because as it is right now IMHO it is a trash system which is totally unrealistic and has really unreasonable time frames to get your desired gear and there is nothing wrong with having the ability to get ALL the items want and need for all your characters builds EVENTUALLY if you put in the game time to do it but it's should not takes years to an infinite amount of time. Many other games have fantastic systems which allow for this and the systems are very popular and well used! Why should Bethesda not do the same?
      I still think rolling anything with this system (no matter the star level) is a complete waste of time of my time but I was just saying that if you really wanted to get the most out of your resources/cores/modules ect then maybe 2* rolling is the way to go because a lot of 2* effects are actually decent and you have a better chance of of rolling a fantastic 2* item than a 3* item or a 4* item in the future when they arrive and rolling a decent 2* item can actually be accomplished in a realistic time frame if you really want to do this. Then again I'm thinking now that it's a bit sad that you have to be forced to only roll 2* items in order to have any realistic hope of eventually getting decent equipment that you want since this means your never fully getting the most out of the legendary system which is obviously 3* items.
      I have quit the game mainly due to lack of ambition from Bethesda and their inability to release significant STORY CONTENT at a frequent rate! They just spend most time fixing things they brake in updates they release and that's just a real waste and ridiculous. Them releasing this trash/gambling legendary crafting system the way it is was the final straw and I just gave up as have so many other players I know have for these reasons!

  • @jamieretallack7852
    @jamieretallack7852 3 года назад +1

    When you have multiple reduction effects they are calculated multiplicatively. So for regular hellcat with dodgy and empath it’s .58*.7*.75. Which means 30% makes it through. which is then reduced by DR/ER which should be another significant reduction IE an enemy doing 100 will be reduced to 30 and about 25 of that will be taken care of by dr for an end damage of 5. Add in sentinel and over eaters and the reduction is 95% when sentinel procs and 79% when it does not. That is reduced to 1 or 4 meaning that over 4 hits original allows 20 damage and OS allows 7 that is vanilla blocks 95 and OS blocks 98.3. Noting that only the most powerful enemies deal 100 damage. So all that effort to stop 3.3 damage per hit against the strongest of foes, in most cases the difference will be much smaller.

Take the many fantastic suggestions that I have seen on board and decrease the unyeilding effect from +3 to +1 or change the unyeilding effect totally when rolled on PA to something which offers great utility options like 200-300 lbs carry weight (just a quick example) but to just remove it and give up on it completely is a waste. If Bethesda really cared about people using the same things they would NERF/BUFF/BALANCE others effects to change the META and make all legendary effects balanced across the board so which ever you choose it's viable/unique and interesting to use but even with the recent legendary effect changes they have not fully achieved this and perhaps they never will. And nerfing unyielding in any way would make it a lot less viable, because then the high risk would make the rewards too low for many players. Maybe a new, weaker version of unyielding for power armor would be a good balance, considering power armor’s damage mitigation. I dont think there is a cap to damage mitigation, I think what we are seeing is diminishing returns.
    with Overeaters and everything else stacked you must have 99% damage mitigation, so anything will do about 1 damage. When you drop a few perks the mitigation must drop to 80-90% so most attacks will still do 1 or 2 damage. Mostly neglegible. But when you dropped the OS armor, mitigation was like 40% only, so there you could see a very big difference.
    At least thats my theory.

    Pretty sure what is going on here is a combination of several things. Over-Eater's only effects DR, not energy resistance or fire, so all those energy attacks from the robots and mutants with lasers were uneffected. As opposed to the Sentinel's effect, which is reduction for ALL damage, BUT it is also somewhat random, because each SET as a whole has a 75% chance to reduce damage by 15% per piece: "Player must be stationary and not crouched; Effect is broken during a stagger; jumping/jetpacking does NOT break the effect.
    Effects stack additively. 5 parts will reduce incoming damage by 60%, and the 75% chance will calculate one time regardless of the number of equipped parts."

    Is vanguard worth it on power armor if you're running a full health build

    • @cd15turb3d
      @cd15turb3d 3 года назад +1

      I would say Vanguard/Bolstering/Mutants or any other effects that increase DR on power armor are mostly useless. It will probably have a very minimal impact but because almost all power armor already has very high DR you’re looking at diminishing returns on that and all power armor already reduces incoming damage by 50% anyway. In the same way I don’t see much value in chasing after power armor with much higher base stats, like the T-65. Always better to go for % of damage reduction than DR and my T-60 set still performs very well. Never feel like I need anything much better.

    Do you recommend skeet shooter for the gauss shotgun? I use it. I just tested bloodied versus two shot gauss shotgun versus level 100 super mutants and found the bloodied one only slightly better when I was around 25 % health. What’s your opinion, Turtle?

    • @AngryTurtle
      @AngryTurtle  3 года назад

      skeet shooter is really good

    • @jeffbarnesyout
      @jeffbarnesyout 3 года назад +1

      @@AngryTurtle Hi. I tested again and it was inconsistent, so I am not sure what to think. Definitely bloodied for me at about 20 percent health was one-shotting the super mutants. Above that health it was 2 shots, but the super mutant's health was at something like 10 percent. So it is very good for those enemies under those circumstances. If you get a chance, look at skeet shooter on two shot gauss shotgun and on another gauss shotgun. The accuracy on bloodied went from normal without the perk to very narrow with the perk, but the accuracy on two shot didn't show a lot of improvement. So I guess it's a percentage and even skeet shooter level 3 can't compensate much for the two shot accuracy problem? I'm sticking with bloodied, but a full health build could probably still find a lot of use for the two shot version. It's better than I remembered it from a year ago. Then again, now we have aristocrats, with an easy 50%?? buff and no penalty such as accuracy.
      Thanks for all your videos, Turtle. You really bring the science to the game!

    I understand it's time consuming and tedious to get an armor set of this nature without trading but I think it's necessary. The majority of the well experienced player base already has more than one OP character. Almost forcing players to trade for items they want is good for game balance regardless of how bad it is right now. We need stronger enemies with even higher levels and to be able to trade SS, RECON, New Scout Armor and other gold bullion or daily ops weapons. At least with other players who've learned the plans anyway. Most players don't use these awesome weapons because you can't trade them and they're almost worthless once you wanna move on to a different weapon type. I've scraped a J SS STR Plasma Cutter, B FFR FR Crusader Pistol and other great weapons because I wouldn't wanna use either of them. I know I could've gotten something I'd really liked for either one but they went to waste.

What if I got a few nice plasma casters that I want to keep that are very heavy? I can’t do anything with the scraps, they’re immediately trashed can’t even sell the decent ones.

    You need to show the contrast between the worst setup you can possibly have and the best to have a comprehensive picture of its full effectiveness.
    Good video just hope to see a follow-up to show the base set perks vs. everything that can be done to increase survivability, especially for bloodied players.

    I believe it works like this.
    Set Damage reduction is capped at 70-80%. I'm pretty sure it was on the wiki of fallout damage reduction.
    After the max damage reduction its based off your armor resistance that has heavy diminishing returns. I've tested this myself. Most I was able to reduce damage with 998 Balistic resistrance and 80% damage reduction was around 3 damage per super mutant bullet.
    Might be worth testing Vanguard, Sentinel brotherhood of steel armor with armor backpack/damage resistant perks. It should be theoretically the best résistance in game if you run it with dodgy, Empath from team, Suppressor while firing. Can even run Richoette for the flat 18% to not take damage.
    I've also tested and it seems like Lone-wandered damage resistance doesn't work... For whatever reason.

    Bethesda has made having power armor such an unpleasant chore that I won't even try for anything other than what ever legendary X-01 that drops from enemies. I have three sets, T61, Excavator legendary jumble and piecing together a jumble of X 01, and I have to say they are not a pleasure like they were in FO4. I can't have them out where I can see them. I can't collect them because there is no space in my hugely limited inventory. I have to save that space for the body armor that carries my day. I can't even tell what chassis is what unless I drag them all out because I can't name the Chassis.
    Trying to organize my PA pieces is a nightmare. The chassis won't stay out long enough for me to really work on my collection. If I hate Bethesda for anything, it would be how they ruined collecting in FO76. You can't collect cool weapons or armor. No room at all.
    The weapons are not worth collecting anyway. Everything does the same amount of damage when comparing like and kind. What difference does it make? I go for QUADS now because if everything is the same level, I will just throw more at the targets and get there with less reloading and dying.

    They need to reduce the cost of legendary modules. Only being able to get 6 modules a day if you get maxed out scrit is kind of ridiculous, especially with how diluted the legendary prefixes are. I get that they want people to grind daily but god dam. Having to grind as much as you have to now for decent legendary rolls is frustrating. They either need to drop the cost of legendary modules or allow people to get the set prefixes they want but for an extremely high cost. If you go down that rout you atleast have a confirmed goal that you know that you can reach.

It is like anti armor. %50+50% isnt equal to 100% it would be 75%. and anything on top of will work on the remaining percentage. %50 will ignore half the armor/damage, and the other 50% for example will work on the remaining 50%, which will the half of 50 be 25%. another 50% on top of that would only add 12.5%. Same diminishing returns. you said it takes 15 mins to craft desired legendaries? I assume its on custom world? :D I rather go with perks than try rolling Grolls :D that owuld never happen
