- McDowell killed Nassau County Deputy Joshua Moyers in 2021. A jury will soon decide if he'll live the rest of his life in prison or if he'll die.

This whole case is so sad….drugs & the military destroyed so many lives here & will continue to do so if mental health isn’t prioritized for these men & women who stand up & fight for our country. We all need to do better!
The perpetrator risked his own life to protect his country when he became a soldier. He was traumatized from this time. He confessed to his crime and didn't try to open up different stories or fairy tales. They should spare his life and recommend a LWOP-term instead of killing him. Or this jury has to accept that people call them "bloodthirsty" and looking for vengeance.

He deserves probation. Maybe house arrest but that's a stretch for someone so honest. I don't think he would reoffend after what he has been through. Probation and watch him.
