Great video showing the Perspective view. I have a permanent transducer pole on my Carolina Skiff and I'm considering buying a second Livescope for my kayak
Absolutely amazing Jesse!!, that mount with the D size ram ball you made and posted last year makes the most sturdy and solid ajustable mount for livescope I've seen, you are a very ingenious fellow thanks for sharing all that knowledge, i will be making the mount following your video for for the perspective view next week Lord willing can't wait to try it out, thanks, tight lines!!
I just got a new kayak and a Garmin 73sv echoMAP plus. Some day I want to get this... But I will need to recover from my getting the yak and ff first. Man it's amazing what that thing picks up.
Thank you for all your great videos! Your point about having a better LiveScope picture on the lower resolution/lower cost screens like 93sv (not 93sv UHD) is most interesting - great point!
Great video and thanks for the transducer angle info. Your Prospective Screen view is also awesome. Would you mind listing the setting you used to get this - once you had the angle right? I would appreciate it very much. Thanks again for the very informative video!
I have a solid solution for making the Livescope transducer angle infinitely adjustable. I can adjust it to any angle in 30 seconds. I’ll have a video posted tomorrow on the setup and how it works. I’ve got mine mounted on my Ultrex but also have a pole system for ice fishing and jumping in friend’s boats. I was out testing it on the Ultrex on Monday and Tuesday.
If you are say in 10’ of water- are you putting your transducer 5’ down? Or are you going as deep as you can with it? Or are you keeping it as high up in the water as possible? 20° will show 10’ vertically at 30’ away so wouldn’t you want to be as close to the bottom as possible?
I have it just low enough to clear the bottom of the boat when you spin it around. My boat draft 12 inches, so I have it roughly 14 inches below the surface of the water
What is the definitive angle would you suggest bending the bar? I copied you incredibly nice mount bar and bent it to 20 degrees exactly. Can't wait to try it out for the first time this weekend. You shared the best videos/advices. Thanks a lot!
I just bought a live scope perspective mount. I fish water 4 ft and less. It looks like the mount has it positioned pointing down. Did you adjust yours to make it more flat? Also, when using mine I see the dark shadow spots but did not see the white colored fish. I think the fish are the white spots and I am not certain about the dark spots moving around on the screen. I can see both in your video. Thoughts?
Liked. I am blown away by your video and I"ve done a lot of searching. Exactly what I needed because I chase trout that is not connected to structure and also can be in rather shallow areas. Key question for me: I have yet to get answered: Can you use the Livescope to FIND fish while trolling at 4-5 km per hour? Just scanning to one side of the boat vertically while moving? This way I don't have to use side imaging. Thanks for any insight.
This footage is amazing. I just got a 94sv. Can't wait for Livescope to arrive. I'll be setting this up on my kayak and boat as well. Do you have two different Livescope systems or are you moving it between the two?
Looking awesome. Nice work. I copied your bracket to get perspective mode and did the SW update but my unit still only shows forward and down modes for orientation. No perspective mode. I have two units (9x and 7x, both the same). Perspective mode shows up in simulation mode however. Did I miss something? I contacted Garmin support and they said I need the new mount which I know is not true.
Check the Updates. On home screen hit Settings- System- System Information- Garmin Device. My version is Echomap 11.20, GLS 10 2.30. If that is good you can force perspective mode. From home screen hit Panoptix-Menu- SonarSetup- Installation- Orientation- Perspective instead of auto. Try that and let me know
Subbed. Question? After 3 years what are your thoughts, now? Also, how DEEP have you gone with perspective mode and still worked for you? Thank you in advance.
@@SouthernReelsFishing Me either. I am under the impression that LiveScope is better looking for individual fish but we bought 360 because it is better looking for schools of fish. We can see them all around us.
Nice!! Do they sell that kind of ram mount for a kayak track ? If so what is it called & any idea where I could buy one? Trying to set up my kayak with my extra transducer I accidentally chopped & I repaired it
what size ball do you have on your ram mount? I purchased a 1.5 ball. I haven't had it out yet. I just got it put together. I still have to make the adjustable mount. Thanks for sharing your information. Nice job on your setup.
Go with the 2.25” ram ball size D ball. The size c ball, 1.5” is too small and doesn’t hold well at idle speeds. I started out with the c ball and went to the d ball a week later. Really improved my transducer mount.
Definitely go with the 2.25" Ram. I had a pole on the 1.5" and it was all over the place when I moved along with the trolling motor. I got frustrated with it and ended up mounting the transducer on the trolling motor.
I am new to livescope and wanting to get one. What is you recommendation? I am more into crappie, pan fish and stripper fishing. Please let me know. Great video.
my 8610xsv image is 50x better then my 93sv echomap. You may need to check your settings. Also, do you have UHD 54g xducer for your DI and SI. I went from 52 to UHD54 and it is in the MHz range and is near Humminbird quality now. Even Humminbird sells a non-MHZ xducer (non MHZ units)
The resolution is better in my 8610, but that doesn't help the Livescope. I feel the image is much less noisy on the echomap series because of their reduced resolution. I have a 74 SV unit and the Livescope image on it is less noisy than my 8610. Now as far as everything else the 8610 excels by far. Trust me I have tried every setting there is in almost every combination there is and this holds true. On my 8610 I have the GT54UHD-TM Transducer, which is the best they offer right now. It is amazing for traditional sonar and the Side Scan and Down Scan is good, but no where near Humminbird. I have seen the Humminbird Mega + and it blows away what Garmin has at this point. I honestly feel that if Garmin upped the power to their Transducer and continued software development they can catch up but it still needs work. Honestly the only reason I am running Garmin is because of the Livescope...
i have a 19' deep v hull, i'm making a transducer pole for panoptix how long does it have to be? i've see several of your diy videos and i'm making one like yours with the pvc pipe, would appreciate a little help

Excellent video, you do such a good job of explaining your builds and livescope fishing tests, thanks.
Great fish-finding tool, enhanced even more by your ingenuity and skill!

Some have doubted me in this but I have both setups and the picture has less noise in the image on my 73SV
Sold. Buying when our stores open Monday. OMG!!!!!!!!!! This is SIQUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is an older video so settings have changed, plus I upgraded to the LVS34. I'm doing a video here soon.
Nicely done, thanks for sharing, tim
Glad you enjoyed it
That's amazing. Thanks for showing us. Stay healthy bud
Great video! I really enjoy all of your videos and livescope ideas.

Looks like a great setup!! I really enjoyed it 👍

Cool man, I also am getting ready to drop another video on a simpler mount that is adjustable as well. I'd be interested to see if yours is similar
@@SouthernReelsFishing Just posted it up, take a look at my channel and it will be the first video up there.

Do you have any sea grass in your area?
Would be cool to see if the Livescope can still pickup the trout/reds through the grass.
I see the light colored fish moving around but what are the black spots moving around?

Yes you can as long as the mounting option is heavy duty like the one I have
@@SouthernReelsFishing Thank you!
Hey Jesse, this video features the old lvs32 right? In your opinion how much better is the 34?
Yes. The 34 is worth the upgrade. The resolution is better and the image is much cleaner
Gt 56 side scan pretty solid now
Yeah that is what I have now. it gets better with each update too
Jesse,
What were the fish keyed in? Creek mouths, oysters, mud/sand flats? Thanks, good stuff.
Mud and Sand Flats, and also points where the flats drain out to the main body of water
This footage is amazing. I just got a 94sv. Can't wait for Livescope to arrive. I'll be setting this up on my kayak and boat as well. Do you have two different Livescope systems or are you moving it between the two?
I have separate systems, both are somewhat permanently mounted. You are gonna love it when you get it going, hit me up if you have any questions
Does this mode only work good in shallow water?

Great footage, thank you. Can you confirm if the ram mount you use is strong enough for idling with the gas engine without much flutter on the stick?
Yes it is strong enough for my boat, I idle at roughly 4 mph and it does fine even in bay currents.
Subbed. Question? After 3 years what are your thoughts, now? Also, how DEEP have you gone with perspective mode and still worked for you? Thank you in advance.
Love it more than ever. I have shot perspective mode out 250 ft in the bay in 25 to 35 ft of water tracking schools of bull drum and it works great
@@SouthernReelsFishing - Awesome. Look forward to using it this season! Thank you for the reply. Remember, you're just one cast away...
Jesse. Have you updated with the new update 0319.0? Which is actually for the echomap series though.
I haven't updated since early march I think. My softwarer version is 11.20, gls 10 2.30
Have you tried the Humminbird MEGA 360? We love it for fishing for crappie schools.
No, not putting that much money into 2 systems

Yes they do. Not sure it would be called, maybe a t track ram mount. Check the ram mount website

No sorry, no time for making them.

Stay basic. Look for the older Garmin Sv units non UHD. THey work great with the livescope and are much more affordable
Well done! Thank you.

Long enough that when it is deployed it is lower than the lowest point of your boat hull
What are The dark spots that appear to be moving around? Are those fish as well or debris in the water?
Shadows of close fish
awesome
So is this image looking down on the fish or from the side?
Perspective view is looking out across the water.
Garmin should sponsor you for your efforts!
I agree lol
holy might buy one now
Almost too cool.
Curse you!! I just paid off all my credit card!
