    I had cataract surgery and had trifocal lenses installed. I love them. My wife however is not too happy with my results. She thought the trifocal
    lenses would finally make me see things her way...they did not.

    Simple - is best. I have 20/20, and reasonable near vision. Presbyopia is never a problem. Thanks!

    Ok, but what is the average price to a Medicare patient for the premium upgrade? That is what will be most important thing to know for 90% of people watching this video.

    I got premium lens called Symfony,
    I wish I had gone with a regular lens. The rings make halos and starburst around lights and vision is not sharp its 20/20 but not clear. I am going with a regular lens in other eye, surgery is in February 2019, hoping I won't have to replace the symfony lens. I suggest asking a lot of questions about vision clarity and trouble with lights .

      I had a regular lens first in my left eye. Last week, I got a premium lens in my right eye. Restor IQ 2.5. Had complications during surgery m Had to get stitches in my eye. Couldn't see at all in my right eye the next day...all a blur. Dr. said it was normal because he had to give me stronger pain drops, which causes blurry vision temporarily. 4 days later and my vision is getting better every day. I can finally read with vision from my right eye. Noticed glare from lights, but it dont bother me. I think one regular lens and one premium lens is a good combination. My distance vision is slowly getting better in my right eye, but nothing close to my left eye. Once stitches come out, should make better progress. Anyways, think you will be happy with the regular lens. Your eyes should adjust easier with the regular lens.

      Regular monofocal lens give the best distance vision compared to premium. The premium multifocal lens split the incoming light focusing on the retina and will never be as sharp.

      I had surgery on both eyes a month apart. My Doctor recommended that I get the standard lens due to problems with clarity and halos around light. I am so glad I listened. My eyes are great and to be honest I don't need glasses.

      @@Bagastriwidodo Hello hope all is blessed. My vision is still at 20/20. I don't wear glasses though my doctor recommends it. 2 check ups back It was 19/20 due to my left eye running a temp and I was prescribed drops to lower. It worked out.

  • @lizjones7220

    I had both eyes done, my choice was the 2-focal, bc I never wore contacts. So they couldn’t be sure I would adjust to them. They state the choices I had a bit different here. Why would them have implants that you still need glasses for? Both surgeries were just before Thanksgiving. My only real issue it sensitively to light & dryness. I still use my RX glasses just for closeup. Readers are also working, can see mid-range & far. 👀👁👀 All & all, I would do again. Cataracts are slow growing, you really miss out on so much. $2650.00 per eye.

    Aren't monofocal lenses available to eliminate glasses at close/intermediate ranges, too? I would prefer those, since most of my daily activities are at close range and being nearsighted, I already wear glasses for driving and so on.

  • @shillpolice7981
    @shillpolice7981 3 года назад

    @Palo Alto Medical Foundation - Kristin, why do you say if I get monofocal FAR I will need glasses for intermediate? My opthamologist is telling me I will only need reading glasses and that everything will be perfect beyond "arms length". Is this not correct?? I am young and my vision was better than 20/20 prior to cataracts. I don't want to give up any detail vision (which I am used to) which I imagine a mutifocal would cause, and considering I had perfect vision all my life and just about still do in one eye... With regard to the "Accommodating lens", do you think the technology is there yet? In terms of risk of intended outcome, and how long they will function properly.
