Instead of Poland increasing spending on its own military, why not send that money to Ukraine? The war is happening in Ukraine, not Poland. Doesn't make sense to buy all these tanks and fighter jets and not use them.

It makes a lot of sense, but not for Poland...

I assumed that an average listener of this channel would know how long arms procurement usually takes and how arduous building new military units is. We're not talking about new fighter jets and tanks appearing in droves right away in Poland. And accusing Poland of wanting to have a capable military in the long term is indeed quite a strange accusation. It doesn't mean taking away weapons from Ukrainians, but surely costs money, as such things do.

      1) They are sending money to Ukraine. And they sent about 40% of all their military equipment to Ukraine. They had already sent 200+ tanks while Germany, France, UK, US etc. were still debating whether to send tanks at all.
      2) Almost all of the stuff Poland bought has not arrived yet, and will not arrive until 2026-2028, so your statement about buying tanks and fighter jets and not using them... doesn't make sense. Polish army is very thin at the moment.
I do appreciate the sentiment though. Ukraine needs more help. 💛💙

Equipment ordered from S. Korea included K2GF tanks and FA-50GF light combat jets. GF stands for "gap filler", and basically it means "whatever version Koreans had available at the time". The equipment PL had sent to UA by large came from active duty which made Polish armed forces quite underequipped. The official numbers of over 300 tanks and over 300 IFVs sent to UA are technically correct, but real numbers (especially regarding IFVs) are a secret for a good reason.
