Hey crew! I know some people love this video and some (probably new people to this channel) simply don't get it. We are giving you a visual representation of how much product is in the tube by swatching it. A lot of people find it helpful as they can get a better understanding of how many applications might be in the tube if they know roughly how many swatches worth of product they might use per application (and yes we know, each person is different). Also we dipped the wand in the tube after each swatch to keep the swatches consistent. x BN
Can someone tell me the big stink over "why didn't you do more than one swatch per dip" crap everyone is on about? I've seen several people say "there's more product on the wand and you would have gotten more swatches if you didn't dip between" You realize... that if they dip between each one they aren't "wasting" the product left on the wand after each swatch.. it is just going back into the tube and eventually used later... the product on the wand doesn't magically disappear because they put it back in the tube... also, by inserting the tube back into the product they are insuring as much consistency as possible between swatches. Come on people.
Marceline ! i think his formula is great but the summer collection of 2016 was so unbelievably bad. all of mine were watery and none would completely dry down. queen bee, 714, and virginity were all so patchy. nude beach wasnt bad but it looks like concealer on me which i don't think is cute. the only good one was watermelon soda. just my opinion

Natalia Vertigo you could just do the simple math if you really wanted to. Aka 100 swatches in a 1oz container = 200 swatches in a 2oz container. It's not that hard.
I'm a beauty blogger so I know how hard it is to get just a few swatches of liquid lipstick off your arms, major props to you two for doing so many! My arms would be red as hell
You could use a balm to take off swatches! It would irritate skin less than a makeup wipe. The body shop has a dupe for the Clinique balm!! Or you could swatch on a different surface like a glass palette or paper :s idk if that's a good idea but just a thought!
Ponds cold cream or use a clear, affordable gloss, press your lips together and apply a lil more till it just comes off like a regular lippie I'll usually use a cold cream in full face and the gloss method when I'm just swatching
Suggestion, I love this series, but maybe it would be easier to swath on paper, so you won't need to wipe your arm as much, and viewers can visualize the true quantity of swatches. Plus it would also give more consistent results if you use grid paper and show the opacity of the product. Just a thought, love your channel💋
Melissa Nichols Great suggestions but I don't think they want to be that meticulous. It would take them double the time to measure exact swatches on grid paper. However, they could definitely divide up the work over a few days and they could leave the counting until the very end. Not having to wash their arms would also save time. Hey, I think you've changed my mind LOL. This might end up saving them time.
The reason I thought of it was to avoid what happened to her arm from the repetitive searching and washing which is very harsh on the skin. And I thought it was an added bonus for experimental consistency. I'm a chemistry student, so my mind always tries to avoid any unnecessary human error. I'm just kind of crazy OCD about that, sorry guys
might I suggest coccunt oil to remove the makeup instead of makeup remover. I use it everyday and it takes off EVERYTHING. I use it take off jeffree stars redrum and you cant even tell i had it on. shouldn't irritate your skin hopefully
My arm was red because the day before we filmed this we filmed how many swatches in an eyeshadow. This was actually much easier to remove than that eyeshadow
what are people like "why do they re-dip every swatch, they could have gotten more swatches if they didn't re-dip every time" um cuz they can and they wanted the strokes to be consistent and just cuz they re-dipped its still the same, the product left on the applicator is still there and will get used eventually so stop hating and be nice is that so hard!

AHH That's a limited edition Summer 2016 lip! That lip isn't made or sold anymore! My heart hurts lol. Whoever donated must've not thought about how much they could make by selling it. It's a year old so I'm sure that's why it was settled.

This series is awesome! I would love to see an episode of nailpolish. How many nails can you paint with one nailpolish? I recommend using a peel off base coat if you ever do that 😄

You guys always paint your nails such lovely colours / go out of your way to make the presentation of the video better. I always find it so appealing! (Or jealous because I have like 5 nail vanishes and they are different variants of black lol)
their skin was probably stained and angry from all the scrubbing to get the lipstick off. i mainly say that because it is not much of an irritant because it is eye safe. That may be different to people who have sensitive skin though.

Betty Brown ask the brand for the amount in the sample size...not number of uses but ml or ounces. They are required to provide that information for anything they're selling.

with my samples I was able to wear a color every day for about 1.5 weeks + swatching on my hands and stuff. I think the samples are good to test a color but if it's something you are sure you would like i would just buy the full size.
Please do this for a lipgloss I don't care what brand! I always seem to go through lipgloss faster than a liquid lipstick the same size even though i wear lipgloss considerably less often

I think you guys didnt get as much product as you could have because that one is much older its his spring collection and that looks used because his products dont usually settle like that ive had 2 of his liquid lips and neither of mine have settled like that being brand new and the makeup wands come clean
Chayy I feel as though they got it from the same place I got mine (in australia also the exact same shade) and I seriously think it was the way the place stores their liquid lipsticks. I have a few Ive got from JSC website and they werent say....as thick as the ones I got from his australian stockists. and due to heat if they arent stored properly they stuff up as a few of mine have. His customer service is amazing though and gave me some tips to get them back to the normal texture which worked.

Definitely a true representation. I've been wearing Celebrity Skin nearly everyday since November 2016, which is nearly 8 months. It's got to the point where I have to scrape it from the sides of the tube now, but I think it's got a couple of weeks left (already bought its replacement). Also, I can pretty much do both lips with one dip.
I am glad they do it the way they do. If they didn't, best case scenario, they would end up with much more uneven swatches. I don't see what the benefit of of doing it nonuniformly would be. I can't get more than one lip out of one dip of most liquid lipsticks and my lips are average sized, so I think they chose the best method.
For me one dip is one lip. What I do is when I pull it out I dot the excess onto my top lip, apply my bottom lip and then apply my top lip with what I placed there earlier.

I have a few Ive got from JSC website and they werent say....as thick as the ones I got from his australian stockists. and due to heat if they arent stored properly they stuff up as a few of mine have. His customer service is amazing though and gave me some tips to get them back to the normal texture which worked.

Definitely a true representation. I've been wearing Celebrity Skin nearly everyday since November 2016, which is nearly 8 months. It's got to the point where I have to scrape it from the sides of the tube now, but I think it's got a couple of weeks left (already bought its replacement). Also, I can pretty much do both lips with one dip.

I am glad they do it the way they do. If they didn't, best case scenario, they would end up with much more uneven swatches. I don't see what the benefit of of doing it nonuniformly would be. I can't get more than one lip out of one dip of most liquid lipsticks and my lips are average sized, so I think they chose the best method.

To know how many swatches you can do, lol.
For me one dip is one lip. What I do is when I pull it out I dot the excess onto my top lip, apply my bottom lip and then apply my top lip with what I placed there earlier.
Katherine Patrick that's a good idea! I usually find I have waaay too much product on my lips when I use a liquid lip
